  1. Far too much Sarah. It's safe to say that with her being the main attraction their new kit kats are putting me RIGHT OFF.
  2. You need to make yourself like E=MC² at once young man. :smoke:
  3. See now just as much as I wish I could say that was totally 100% live it obviously wasn't.

YES. Like I told you in the other thread. :P There's already a thread on it in here saying that she is a surefire #1 with 190-200k estimated sales.
  5. You make a lot of good points. It's Like That didn't do that badly, it was #16 and stayed on the chart for 5 months. I hear what you're saying about the weak lead singles but I think Mariah really needed a strong track with Mimi after the disasters of Glitter and Charmbracelet and ILT thankfully filled that void. Plus Shake It Off was the third single and that would have been #1 had it not been for We Belong Together making it stall at #2 for 6 weeks! Then of course as you say Don't Forget About Us was Christmas #1 off the re-release. Very good post though. ^_^
  6. Yeah I think they did that just to build up anticipation for both the single and album. The 2nd single Bye Bye hits iTunes on the 14th of April, and it doesn't go for adds until the 22nd of April. So I think that was just for the first single. As for the single itself, I agree it wasn't the strongest of leads and the majority of fans will agree with you, now having heard the whole album it baffles me as to why they chose it. Still it's Mariah's 18th #1 and 24th Top10 hit so i'm pleased either way. ^_^ I can guarantee that all the future singles from this album will be much better, considering that I feel Touch My Body is one of the albums worst tracks... Wrong thread. :P But yes it is, it's got a big lead on the #2 album and looks on course to sell 190-200k. ;)

In the two days period "Bye Bye" has been playing on radio, it's registered 146 spins and 2.201 million audience impressions. The song is officially going for adds on April 22, 2008 in all formats.

Touch My Body is still officially #1 on the Hot100! :D Also staying at #1 this week means that Mariah holds the record for most weeks at #1 (along with Elvis) as both hold 79 weeks at #1. Well done Mariah! :w00t:
  9. I understand that, comparing Mariah and Madonna is never going to be fruitful for anyone to be honest. Deep_Honey said that it wasn't fair comparing them because Touch My Body had been out a lot longer than 4 Minutes. So I just used those airplay figures to show how they compared on airplay at 3 weeks from the respective tracks premiering. :P
  10. Jesus. :o Go Leona! :w00t:

I have just posted this in the "Idol" thread but it belongs in here really so I have been doing my research and found out: Mimi sold 406k (which was Mariah's biggest 1st week album sales) in the US to be reach #1 in 2005. Had Mariah sold that amount this week she would have sold double what the #1 will have sold. Leona Lewis is on course to sell 200k this week, which I think Mariah should manage with ease. I'm gonna estimate about 300-350k, anything over that and i'll be thrilled. ^_^ As for the UK, Mimi sold 20,876 in it's first week to reach #7, had it been released this week it would have been #4. I really can't predict Mariah's UK album sales so I won't even try. I hope for Top10 at LEAST. :arrr:
  12. Well I have done my research and found out that Mimi sold 20,876 in the first week in the UK. Had the album been out this week and sold that exact amount she would have been at #4, which is amazing! As a chart position, not so much the sales. I do hope Bye Bye is her 19th #1, I hope it does well over here as well. I would LOVE for Mariah to get another UK #1 but I just don't see it happening off this album. Although if she releases Migrate as the third single in the late summer she could get lucky. :P I must post this in the album thread too as most of this is album talk really. :P
  13. Well in the US Mimi sold 410k in it's first week... Not sure about the UK but it got to #7 I know that much. :heehee:
  14. You'll be waiting a year or so on that one. :heehee: Although Top10 in the UK and #1 in the US for the first single isn't a bad start. ;) As a matter of interest I thought I would check sales margins for both the UK and US to see what Mariah has to do to reach #1. In the UK Mariah needs to sell 40-50k to reach #1 at an estimate. I don't see her doing that. As for the US, Leona looks on course to be #1 this week with sales of around 200k, which I think Mariah should manage with ease.
  15. Firstly, I never said Mariah was inevitably outperforming Madonna. I merely stated to Big Mistake (who claimed that US radio never get behind British acts over their own) that Madonna is American yet Leona has better airplay than her. Fact. Oh and Mariah has hardly been out a long time in comparison, the track has been out 7 weeks and after 3 weeks (if you're comparing her to Madonna) Touch My Body was Top20 or just outside of it, it got major airplay early on, digital downloads only helped her beat Rihanna's download record and secure her 18th US #1, 2nd only to The Beatles. Oh and for the record after 3 weeks of airplay (well 23 days for Madonna, it's all I could find) for both Touch My Body and 4 Minutes they stood like this: Touch My Body - 82.09 million audience impressions with 12160 spins. 4 Minutes - 41.995 million audience impressions with 6725 spins. So yes, in that respect - Mariah is outperforming Madonna on US radio, having double her airplay after 3 weeks of Touch My Body and 4 Minutes premiering, but that's hardly surprising. Madonna outperforms Mariah in best part of Europe. Just the way it works. ^_^
  16. Please do shut up. Mariah is an established star. Look at Madonna, she's American and an established star, yet does she have huge airplay? No. Does Leona have more airplay than her? Yes. Your honour I rest my case. Please stop making stupid accusations because you want Leona to be doing better than she is, which is bizarre because a #1 single and a soon to be #1 album are beyond amazing, particularly for a reality TV stars first outing.

Another Brit picking up an American twang...
  20. It's certainly possible now that the album is heading for #1...

Now I wonder when the last time a British female did that was? :P Actually when was the last time anyone British did that...
  22. YAY FOR LEONA! :w00t: Oh and nice to see them setting the scene for Mariah's album next week. :kink:

It goes for official adds on the 22nd of April, which is a week after Oprah and Idol... surely not the wisest of choices?

Hurrah #1 again! :D I'm surprised Madonna hasn't had a huge increase because of her video premiering...
