http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KXR9-RxnrLU/SmHeEJEHINI/AAAAAAAADXc/J_iek4Wq2XI/s400/pink.jpg 002 P!nk + 791 Pts + Stats Votes: 48 Highest Position: 1 [Frank!, Propilot87] Top Ten: 29 Years Active: 2000 - Present Well with a monster lead of everyone else and for a long while, looking like she might actually win, P!nk is 2nd :o. Appearing in more charts than any other female [48/67]. She also appeared in the top 10 of people's charts 29 times with only Gaga having more. P!nk rose to fame in 2000 with her debut album Can't Take Me Home. The RnB orientated sound of the record was miles away from the sound P!nk would become known [and huge] for. By the time she released her second album in 2001 M!zundaztood, P!nk had rebelled against the American market's desire for RnB $h!t and turned rock chick. The album and its singles became massive hits worldwide, whilst she now struggled in her home country. After a shaky follow up record in Try This, P!nk fought back with I'm Not Dead & Funhouse, cementing her status as one of the most popular acts on the planet. Australia are obsessed with her. Her last album was her biggest in the UK yet and her 'don't give a $h!t' attitude and great lyrics and passion for her music make her the perfect counterpart for Gaga. I still maintain that Who Knew is one of the best songs of all time. Other hits include: There You Go, Get The Party Started, Just Like A Pill, Don't Let Me Get Me, Trouble, U & Ur Hand & So What. She's sold more than 30 million records worldwide with her distinct, husky voice and ability to write songs about her flaws and current affairs. zGfkbq406so http://www.gossipcheck.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Lady-Gaga.jpg 001 Lady Gaga + 819 Pts + Stats Votes: 44 Highest Position: 1 [Chart Wizard, Chriss_S, Darren-5-0-8, GagafanGibson, Ghost, Harve, Jaimeed] Top Ten: 33 Bitchslapped: 6 [bert For Lashes, BritneyS, Daniel John, Lift Me Up, Mr Lovett, Shakilover, Theo Commander] Years Active: 2006 - Present Not since the Spice Girls has an artist caused so much controversy and blown up so fast on a worldwide scale. I don't think she deserves to win this countdown despite being the most interesting artist on the planet right now. Get back to me in 10 years mmm'kay? That aside, Gaga can do no wrong, with her eccentric and outrageous personality and outfits to go with them, mini-epic music videos, crazy performances which include hanging herself live on stage and the perfect album of pop gems in The Fame. It's only been two years since Gaga mania took over the world but her hits continue selling and her influence on the industry right now is profound. I see Gaga as an early incarnation of Madonna. She may seem original but most of what she does is a personification of other artists. I think her lyrics and her music are fantastic and a shining light through the dreaded crap that's been spouting out from America this year. Whether she can stand the test of time remains to be seen. She's already sold over 55 million records worldwide including 40mil singles and 15mil albums! That's more than most of the women in this list have managed in multiple years. Hits include: Just Dance, Poker Face, Paparazzi, Bad Romance & Telephone. Even without the bitchslaps she'd have been #1 and was surprisingly marmite-esque with the BJ audience. She had the most #1 votes out of everybody and was joint highest for the most amount of bitchslaps with Britney Spears. According to Buzzjack she is the ultimate female artist. bESGLojNYSo

All 4 of these artists performed consistantly well in both the nomination process and the final votes. If we had left it at nominations, they'd have still made up the top 4 positions. http://www.thepianopages.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/rihanna-gorgeous.jpg 003 = Rihanna + 688 Pts + Stats Votes: 45 Highest Position: 1 [Jack, Will0713] Top Ten: 25 Bitchslapped: 1 [sclub7fan001] Years Active: 2005 - Present Well if anybody had said to me this time 5 years ago that Rihanna would still be here in 2010 and be one of the biggest stars on the planet, I'd have laughed in their face and possibly drooled. Only one artist appeared in more people's charts than Rihanna. Her debut single Pon De Replay combined reggae and dancehall with a fresh pop feel and a year later she smashed again with the addictively catchy SOS & ballad Unfaithful. Despite these successes album sales and general consensus of her abilities as an artist were not high. This changed with the release of 2007's Good Girl Gone Bad. One of the most solid pop albums of recent years imo. The neverending string of singles from the CD and the sexy new style Rihanna sported propelled her to the top of the A List. The mammoth Umbrella which spent 10 weeks at #1 is one of those pop songs that will never die whilst the album's other highlights include Shut Up & Drive, Hate That I Love You, Breakin Dishes & Disturbia. Rihanna's star continued to shine after the more mature and experimental sound of 2009's Rated R which has seen her implement a touch of rock to her music. She's going to have one hell of a greatest hits collection... CvBfHwUxHIk http://themusicslut.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/kelly_clarkson_snowblue_300.jpg 003 = Kelly Clarkson + 688 Pts + Stats Votes: 38 Highest Position: 1 [Damon, Jonjo, Lukuzz] Top Ten: 27 Years Active: 2002 - Present I'm surprised yet very, very pleased. An astonishingly interesting turn of affairs. A reality TV show star that's actually GOOD? A rare occurrence indeed. Clarkson became the first winner of American Idol in 2002 and has gone on to sell bucketloads of records worldwide [most due to her 2005 breakthrough album Breakaway. Whilst her angsty and emotional pop-rock music is nothing that hasn't been done before, Clarkson has a far stronger voice than her peers and is a BFF of Dr Luke. Four albums into her career and she's covered a lot of ground – ranging from manufactured lite RnB to all out pop-rock, a much darker and deeper version of her signature sound and a slight electro tint to her last album All I Ever Wanted. Ironically it's the least commerical and severley underrated My December that is Clarkson's most consistant and breathtaking record. Hits include: Since U Been Gone, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Because Of You, Miss Independent, Sober & My Life Would Suck Without You/ TJnJTyOCj_E

Starting her career in Destiny's Child [who are one of the biggest selling female bands of all time] before marrying Jay Z and becoming one of the biggest solo artists on the planet. Such is the legacy of Beyonce. I don't doubt her vocal ability at all and I'm not a loon but I class her as one of those rare artists that has the whole package. Her back catalogue was very patchy until I Am Sasha Fierce which I think is going to be a very tough record for her to follow. When you have a suavy daddy turn manager and an arson of fantastically crafted hits that blend all the right musical genres for a musical sex-sandwich, your career is obviously going to be smoking hot. She's won 16 Grammys and has sold over 100 million records! 35 million of those coming from her three solo albums and hit singles Crazy In Love, Irreplaceable, If I Were A Boy, Single Ladies [Put A Ring On It], Halo & Beautiful Liar & Telephone which are collabarations with Shakira and the still to come Lady Gaga. baLkXC_qWJY There's a tie for 3rd place coming up in a smidge :P

http://music.spreadit.org/pics/alicia-keys-new-york.jpg 006 Alicia Keys + 629 Pts + Stats Votes: 41 Highest Position: 3 Top Ten: 25 Years Active: 1997 - Present Alicia Keys is the highest charting female to not have been placed at #1 on anybody's chart... Her debut album Songs In A Minor released in 2001 shot her to international stardom selling over 12 million units worldwide and earning her five Grammys. The Diary Of Alicia Keys, As I Am & The Element Of Freedom have followed. Alicia blends soul and RnB with standard pop music and has one of the strongest voices in the business. I'm a fan of the odd song but I find her vocal warbling a bit too much at times [see the hideously overrated Empire State Of Mind Part II]. She's one of few artists to actually progress with each record as there's always at least one track from each album that becomes my personal favourite by her. As well as her own material she's also had successful hits with Eve, Usher and Jay Z. A solid all round artist who was certainly underrated in the UK at least until her latest record exploded in the new year. Worthy of being considered as a strong female singer? – Yes. Deserving of a top 10 finish? Hmmmm xZS0eflDxaI

http://hotcelebrity.name/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/kylie-minogue.jpg 007 Kylie Minogue + 624 Pts + Stats Votes: 41 Highest Position: 1 [Aphrodite, Dannyboy, Regina Flowers, Silver Rocket] Top Ten: 21 Bitchslapped: 1 [Jared Leto] Years Active: 1987 - Present Spawning the start of a generation of Neighbours stars turn singers, Kylie Minogue took the UK by storm in 1988 with the catchy pop numbers I Should Be So Lucky & Locomotion. Kylie was reportedly the first female artist to sell over 2 million copies of their debut album. Her popularity waned during the mid 90s as she took her music in a more indie direction, but reinvented herself at the start of 2000 cementing herself as a gay icon and pop culture phenomenon with Spinning Around which featured those infamous gold hotpants. 2001's Fever and overrated Can't Get You Out Of My Head provided the Australian songstress with her most successful era yet, 15 years into her career. A rare and extraordinary feat. Kylie is still going strong in 2010 with the release of her 11th studio album 'Aphrodite' allowing her to join an elite band of artists that have topped the UK album charts for 4 consecutive decades. I like a lot of Kylie's material and I feel like my life is linked closely to her career as her debut UK single made it to #1 the day I crawled out of my mother's womb. Explains a lot huh? :kink: Kylie may not be up the global and music altering status of Madonna but she is definitely the second strongest and most influential pop singer in my opinion. Other non-mentioned hits include Especially For You, Better The Devil You Know, Shocked, Did It Again, Confide In Me, On A Night Like This, Love At First Sight, I Believe In You, In My Arms & All The Lovers. I thought she'd win but a combination of bitchslaps galore and lack of votes towards the end pushed her down. Britney has the joint 2nd highest amount of #1 placings but is also joint 1st with the most bitch slaps. However, even with those 21 points added she'd still be in the same position. Also a graduate of the Mickey Mouse Club, Spears cemented herself as a pop culture icon with her debut single Baby One More Time, which sold more than 9 million copies worldwide making it one of the most successful singles ever released. The video showed the 16 year old singer in a skimpy school uniform. Britney returned teen pop to the top of the charts and established herself as a pop icon with her first two albums Baby One More Time & Ooops! I Did It Again. She's changed her image and tried her hand at different genres throughout her first decade in the spotlight which has seen her shift more than 100 million records. Sadly, increased interest in her private life and a very public breakdown in the mid 2000s has turned Britney into the paparazi's favourite target. I personally feel her material since 2007 has had some highlights but is exceptionally poor and not a patch on the feel good, cheesy yet defining pop hits she created at the start of her career. I think she needs a long time out and a look at her career and what has gone wrong personally and professionally and hopefully her next album has given her the chance to do so. Hits include: Baby One More Time, Ooops! I Did It Again, Stronger, I'm A Slave 4 U, Toxic, Everytime, Womanizer & Piece Of Me. TKo4fFVymqk

OK I'm early cos I gots stuff to do before 8 :P http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hMY9ab69G9Q/SwJVfPHF6XI/AAAAAAAAAR4/1A0OXesy-68/s1600/Leona_Lewis.jpg 009= Leona Lewis + 523 Pts + Stats Votes: 33 Highest Position: 1 [savio, SceneofSIXCrimes] Top Ten: 17 Years Active: 2006 - Present It's hard to fault 2006 X Factor winner Leona Lewis. She has the voice. One of the best female voices to emerge in a long time if I'm honest but she needs to take a more active role in her career. A combination of dull, repetitive, lifeless songs and poor promotion and handling by her record company are going to kill her career. I fell in love with her shy demeanour and powerful voice on TXF where she seemed blissfully insecure and unaware of just how amazing she sounded. Bleeding Love was one of those once in a career type of songs that alongside debut album Spirit made her one of the most successful British female musical exports in a long time, topping charts around the globe – most famously – the American Billboard countdowns. By second album Echo, the music showed progression, however, the strange choices of the record company and their belief that The X Factor will be an auotmatic selling point, so they don't need to bother with much else hindered the record's success and the material whilst listenable was hardly pushing the boundaries of music. Please no more Ryan Tedder numbers next time around which sound like a drunk has been playing with dustbin lids. JDB2XqbqeIE http://www.sound-savvy.com/wp-content/uploads/christinaa.jpg 009= Christina Aguilera + 523 Pts + Stats Votes: 34 Highest Position: 1 [Gagatrunkmen, Lift Me Up] Top Ten: 19 Bitchslapped: 3 [Chriss_S, Savio, Tyler] Years Active: 1993 - Present Christina came to public attention via the Disney Channel's Mickey Mouse Club [Evil] where she starred alongside a certain Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake. By 1999 she was the latest squeaky clean, bubblegum pop blonde on the block with her transatlantic hit Genie In A Bottle. Fortunately for Aguilera, she rebelled against her image and seriously vamped it up for her second album Stripped!. Lead single Dirrty! put a lot of people off [me included – just EWW], but subsequent singles Beautiful & Fighter helped the album shift more than 8 million copies worldwide. Fighter remains my favourite Christina song due to the pure emotion and power she puts into the track. It's message and it's rocky overtones as well as the gothic themed video are its highlights. Thanks for making me a fighter whenever I listen to yer track Ags. Sadly, I lost interest in her after Stripped. She takes FAR too long to release records and Back To Basics just didn't appeal to me at all. Aguilera is notorious in 2010 for the diabolical flop of her 4th record Bionic which set a record on the UK album charts falling from 1-29 and has barely sold 50,000 units so far. Whilst, I find 75% of her material unlistenable and patchy, Christina imo is a true talent. She has the whole package. Aguilera has sold more than 42 million records worldwide. xB7pQpNx-F4

All X Factor live performances to be 'available for download
We should have a different FB campaign every single week to stop them! Though I'm inclined to agree with Vidcapper that they will surely fade after an initial three hour or so boost onj Saturday night. Though I imagine, they'd all be released on Sunday at midnight and a lot of people watch the repeat showing on Sunday morning so.... It's just horrific :( I don't mind Glee because [a] I like that show & they have about 12x less the amount of viewers the fiX Factor gets, so their songs barely made an impact. Cowell already controls every #1 single/album in some form or another between October & December. Does he really need any more monopolisation? He obviously wants to get as much cash as possible bcause he gets nothing from when people download the original versions.

The Power Of Goodbye is one of my favourites too. I can't stand anything she released from Vogue - Frozen except You'll See. But every artist goes through their rough periods and yeah her output over the past couple of albums has been rather crap as I originally said, but she's turned it around before, so let's just hope she's not too past giving a toss to do it again. I'd personally love to see her do a proper hard rock album. It'll probably never happen for a majority of reasons such as age, her lack of vocal ability for such a genre but it's something that'd be hilarious and I'd love to see her try and pull it off.

I've never understood loondoom tbh. Some artists excite me overly much but I'd never force it down someone else's throat and I am reasonable enough to understand that not everybody had to like them and not everything they release is the most amazing ever and I'm also prone to being negative and critical of my favourites if I know they can do better. You can appreciate music without going overboard. Gaga is not the only one with crazy fans on here if you ask me. I read about the forums a lot and most of the top 10 have their fair share of crazys as well as a few more in the countdown [then there's Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Saturdays] etc. Could somebody explain to me why we get so piffy and derranged about somebody 95% of the people doing it will never even meet?

I'm sorry but you're starting to annoy me now. Beyoncei s very involved in the writing side of her career as is P!nk who has cowritten or written by herself every track on 4/5 of her albums [the only exception being her gimmicky debut which she didn't want to make in the first place]. I can't tell you for certain about the others but I'm sure Alicia Keys does as well. Edit: And Christina Aguilera.

OK they're lame clues but I don't want to give too much away :P Alicia Keys Beyonce Britney Spears Christina Aguilera Kelly Clarkson Kylie Minogue Lady Gaga Leona Lewis P!nk Rihanna

I question your sanity when you can't even place the Queen of Pop in the top 10!. I'm unsure if people genuinely believed she would automatically be top 5 that they didn't vote for her or just don't like her. Madonna may not be the most talented vocalist, but she is an entertainer and a true one at that and is arguably the most successful and influential female pop artist around. Madonna pushed the boundaries of lyrical content in her songs and used imagery in her videos to propell her to worldwide fame. She was one of the biggest selling artists of the 1980s and despite a period of poor material in the mid 90s returned to form with 1998's Ray Of Light. Imo her output since then has been shoddy at best but this woman has bought us some of the most memorable songs of modern music including Like A Virgin, Get Into The Groove, Like A Prayer, Vogue, Beautiful Stranger, Holiday, Borderline, Hanky Panky, Frozen, Music & Hung Up. Her image and sound has evolved many times since she first released music, proving the versatile nature of Madonna. My only fault is that horrible purple workout number she wore during the Hung Up video. It still gives me nightmares. Madonna is supposedly the world's top selling female artist with the Guinness Book of World Records stating that she has sold more than 300 million records worldwide. She's not my favourite artist but I would easily put her top 5 on this list. oMCbtyBdZZ4

Albums which were saved by subsequent singles?
Busted's debut album is another example. Released after What I Go To School For, it flopped and dive-bombed until Year 3000 came out :heehee:

Albums which were saved by subsequent singles?
I'm unsure whether it was because of You Know I'm No Good but Back To Black debuted at #3 and fell pretty heavily but climbed up after Christmas back to #1 in early Jan 2007 and well the rest is history -_-
