  1. I've never understood loondoom tbh. Some artists excite me overly much but I'd never force it down someone else's throat and I am reasonable enough to understand that not everybody had to like them and not everything they release is the most amazing ever and I'm also prone to being negative and critical of my favourites if I know they can do better. You can appreciate music without going overboard. Gaga is not the only one with crazy fans on here if you ask me. I read about the forums a lot and most of the top 10 have their fair share of crazys as well as a few more in the countdown [then there's Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Saturdays] etc. Could somebody explain to me why we get so piffy and derranged about somebody 95% of the people doing it will never even meet?

I bet album sales are terrible this week! Even worse than last... Flo Rida will end up at about #4-5 I reckon.
  3. I'm sorry but you're starting to annoy me now. Beyoncei s very involved in the writing side of her career as is P!nk who has cowritten or written by herself every track on 4/5 of her albums [the only exception being her gimmicky debut which she didn't want to make in the first place]. I can't tell you for certain about the others but I'm sure Alicia Keys does as well. Edit: And Christina Aguilera.
  4. So only ten artists remain in the running to be crowned BuzzJack's Favourite Female Artist [that reminds me of some America's Next Top Model bull$h!t :/]. The final 10 will be revealed on Sunday night after 7ish. Feel free to speculate in the meantime but I will tell you: * There are two tied positions in the top 10 though not the #1. * Leona Lewis is the only remaining British . * Kylie Minogue is the oldest remaining female and has the longest career. * Alicia Keys is the only artist left not to have been placed at #1 in anybody's chart [she wasn't put higher than #3]. OK they're lame clues but I don't want to give too much away :P Alicia Keys Beyonce Britney Spears Christina Aguilera Kelly Clarkson Kylie Minogue Lady Gaga Leona Lewis P!nk Rihanna

  6. http://image3.examiner.com/images/blog/EXID34542/images/madonna_10.jpg 011 Madonna + 495 Pts + Stats Votes: 32 Highest Position: 1 [swagger91] Top Ten: 19 Bitchslapped: 2 [Adam, Lukuzz] Years Active: 1979 - Present Be ashamed Buzzjack. I question your sanity when you can't even place the Queen of Pop in the top 10!. I'm unsure if people genuinely believed she would automatically be top 5 that they didn't vote for her or just don't like her. Madonna may not be the most talented vocalist, but she is an entertainer and a true one at that and is arguably the most successful and influential female pop artist around. Madonna pushed the boundaries of lyrical content in her songs and used imagery in her videos to propell her to worldwide fame. She was one of the biggest selling artists of the 1980s and despite a period of poor material in the mid 90s returned to form with 1998's Ray Of Light. Imo her output since then has been shoddy at best but this woman has bought us some of the most memorable songs of modern music including Like A Virgin, Get Into The Groove, Like A Prayer, Vogue, Beautiful Stranger, Holiday, Borderline, Hanky Panky, Frozen, Music & Hung Up. Her image and sound has evolved many times since she first released music, proving the versatile nature of Madonna. My only fault is that horrible purple workout number she wore during the Hung Up video. It still gives me nightmares. Madonna is supposedly the world's top selling female artist with the Guinness Book of World Records stating that she has sold more than 300 million records worldwide. She's not my favourite artist but I would easily put her top 5 on this list. oMCbtyBdZZ4
  7. Busted's debut album is another example. Released after What I Go To School For, it flopped and dive-bombed until Year 3000 came out :heehee:
  8. I'm unsure whether it was because of You Know I'm No Good but Back To Black debuted at #3 and fell pretty heavily but climbed up after Christmas back to #1 in early Jan 2007 and well the rest is history -_-
  9. http://www.topnews.in/files/Katy-Perry0125.jpg 012 Katy Perry + 425 Pts + Stats Votes: 32 Highest Position: 3 Top Ten: 14 Years Active: 2001 - Present Katy Perry has definitely created a lot of buzz in the music industry despite only being successful as a mainstream artist since 2008. Whilst she may not have the vocal skills and such to compete with some of the all time greats, she definitely knows how to deliver hit after hit with a very consistant selection of singles. Having Christian parents, Perry first tried her hand at Gospel music which failed to set the charts alight. It was the 2008 worldwide smash I Kissed A Girl with its tongue in cheek, homosexual innuendos that propelled her to global fame. Religious and gay activists were outraged whilst I just laughed. It was a cracking song that was clearly a bit of fun. Gimmicky it was and it certainly got her noticed but how many other artists are guilty of the same thing? Success followed with the equally huge Hot N Cold whilst collabarations with 3Oh!3 and Timbaland have made Perry one of the hottest stars on the planet. She is currently in the middle of the campaign for second release Teenage Dream which as well as featuring the gorgeous title track is home to one of 2010's most successful singles: California Gurls featuring resident p**** in waiting Snoop Dogg. The Hot N Cold video is still hilarious and not only are her facial expressions worthy of a Hall of Fame, she is also stunning. yY3CehyfUko
  10. Me either. It's another example of my least favourite song by an artist being their most commerically successful. Kylie & CGYOOMH is another.
  11. No other artists could get close to the top 13 – though 11-13 constantly swapped places, the top 10 were miles out ahead throughout the adding up process. http://www.misslopez.se/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/shakira.jpg 013 Shakira + 406 Pts + Stats Votes: 29 Highest Position: 1 [shakilover, Jark] Top Ten: 9 Years Active: 1990 - Present Whilst she's not as eccentric as the likes of Bjork or Kate Bush, Shakira is clearly in a league of her own. The colombian singer first rose to fame in the Latin America scene during the early 90s and is most notorious for her obsession with belly dancing, weird yet fantastic lyrics [confusing breasts with mountains anybody?] and her deep yet powerful voice. Despite massive success with her Spanish music, it wasn't until 2002 that Shakira gained fame in major music markets like the UK with the brilliant Whenever Wherever. She's sold over 50 million records globally making her the second most successful Latin artist ever behind only Gloria Estefan and has the best selling single of the millennium so far worldwide with Hips Don't Lie which cemented her status as one of the biggest artists in the world during Summer 2006. 8hyF2EZwxHU
  12. http://www.rap-up.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/nelly-furtado-fence.jpg 014 Nelly Furtado + 363 Pts + Stats Votes: 32 Highest Position: 2 Top Ten: 9 Years Active: 1996 - Present Furtado first came to attention in 2001 with her debut album Whoa Nelly! and it's airplay smash I'm Like A Bird which gained her a Grammy. After a disappointing second album [performance wise – musically it remains her best for me], Furtado made Timbaland popular and was inescapable with 2006's Loose which harboured the international smashes Maneater, Promiscuous & Say It Right. Just by looking at Furtado's three albums, you can see the evolution of her music and style. Despite Loose aiming to regain her popularity by filling current trends, it's a much darker, yet deep and serious record – miles above most of the music around at the time. Furtado also sings in Spanish releasing a full length Spanish album Mi Plan last year. She is currently preparing a new English record to drop sometime in 2010. It'll be interesting to see how it works out for her as the gap between releases is so huge. Furtado states that the record will contain elements of funk. She has sold 25 million records worldwide. 13. Definately. I'm certain a lot of people were voting for what they 'currently' like rather than what they consider to be the all time best. I hope so for some people's sake anyway :heehee:
  14. OOTB only had the 4 great singles and Self Inflicted! Most of it sounded like it was written a good 5 years before it's time and the major hits were added on at the end to lure people into thinking it was 'current'.
  15. The top 15 artists were the same throughout the competition with only the positions changing. http://www.djflatline.se/wp-content/uploads/mariah-carey-biography-7.jpg 015 Mariah Carey + 353 Pts + Stats Votes: 23 Highest Position: 2 Top Ten: 12 Bitchslapped: 3 [Dandy, RabbitFurCoat, Silver Rocket] Years Active: 1988 - Present Warbling diva Mariah Carey actually finishes a lot higher than I expected considering her reputation on Buzzjack. Mariah is inescapable as one of the biggest selling female artists in music history. Her screeching vocals and rather eccentric and crazy antics have kept her in the spotlight for 2 decades.Originally, Mariah released ballad after ballad, but eventually embraced the RnB/Hip-Hop sound that dominates the American charts to revive her career, having major success in 2005 for the first time in over 5 years with The Emancipation Of Mimi album. I bored of her a long time ago tbh. Whilst other artists fight to change their image, Mariah just jumps onto whatever is popular and her drawling vocals followed by over the top screeching makes a lot of her back catalogue painful to listen to. I do like Heartbreaker, Butterfly, We Belong Together and Fantasy though.Carey has had 18 #1 hits in America and has reportedly sold over 175 million records globally. FKQOTnWb9GU
  16. I'm not going to reveal the top 10 until Sunday night as a lot of people are busy over the weekend [myself included] and I want as many people as possible here :P I will put up to #11 over today though. http://www.celebritybeautybuzz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/gwen-stefani-4-in-the-morning-400.jpg 016 Gwen Stefani + 320 Pts + Stats Votes: 28 Highest Position: 2 Top Ten: 10 Years Active: 1986 - Present One of the best frontwomen around imo. No Doubt are just plain amazing. Every album they've released has been full of fantastic tracks that move through a variety of genres of eras. Their international breakthrough came with the infamous Don't Speak and the band have been on hiatus since the middle of the 2000s, though are currently working on new material. Stefani launched her own successful solo career in 2004, releasing two albums that combined the style of Madonna and Debbie Harry amongst others. Who can forget What You Waiting For? & The Sweet Escape huh? Stefani made most of the clothing she wore on stage with No Doubt herself. A fantastic artist and a modern day inspiration imo. 18. http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/34923007/Kate%20Bush%20Kate.jpg 017 Kate Bush + 314 Pts + Stats Votes: 18 Highest Position: 1 [Dandy, Mark., Severin] Top Ten: 11 Years Active: 1975 - Present An amazing f***ing talent. One of, if not the most original and inventive artists to ever grace the scene of music who has influenced countless others that have followed her. Kate Bush's debut single Wuthering Heights topped the UK singles chart in 1978 becoming the first track to be penned and performed by a woman. Two years later the album Never For Ever became the first British female solo artist to have a #1 album. It's clear when you examine the likes of Tori Amos, Alison Goldfrapp, Bjork and even bands like Muse and Florence & The Machine that the style and music of Bush are evident. She takes her time between albums though releasing her last effort in 2005, 12 years since 1993's The Red Shoes. 9n2VSe_lja4

I think it's easily the strongest album released by an X Factor winner and they made a good decision in taking her down the less predictable 'Leona' route. I personally get sick of her though when I see her bummed non stop on Buzzjack. Yeah, she's a good singer and has an album of decent hits, but she's yet to prove herself as an established artist. I await to see how album #2 performs. P.S – I liked all of her output until I heard that hideous excuse for a piece of music she's putting out in August. P.P.S All Night Long was miles better before it was rearranged and that rat Pitbull was added to it. JIj09pMlFIg
  20. http://groovevolt.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/kelly_rowland_378590a.jpg 019 Kelly Rowland + 298 Pts + Stats Votes: 24 Highest Position: 5 Top Ten: 9 Years Active: 1990 - Present Back in 2003 when she released Simply Deep, I much preferred Kelly Rowland to her Destiny's Child bandmate Beyonce. However, as time's progressed, I've been underwhelmed by Rowland's output. She is clearly a huge talent but for some reason I just never really connect with her music. I think Is ee the likes of Work & Commander hyped to the heavens on here and when I finally listen to them, they're really disappointing. Stole though I liked it at the time, only really appealed to me recently when I was able to relate to it. Fantastic singer. RZPec6J33K8
  21. http://www.lavocedinapoli.altervista.org/anastacia.jpg 020 Anastacia + 293 Pts + Stats Votes: 19 Highest Position: 2 [Josh, Sarah] Top Ten: 11 Years Active: 1998 - Present So according to Buzzjack, the 20 artists that follow are the 20 best female singers EVER... A decent start as well with the little lady with that big, deep soulful voice kicking off proceedings. Anastacia rose to fame at the start of 2000s with a string of minor chart hits and big selling albums. I never took notice of her at all until 2004's Anastacia which included the massive single Left Outside Alone a song that refused to leave the UK top 10 despite only peaking at #3. Anastacia is one of many females in the countdown to have battled breast cancer and defeated the disease before the release of the aforementioned self-titled record. Her attempts to gain success since have been rather poor with her last album Heavy Rotation being a clumsily, put together record that failed to set the charts alight. iS7YCPKbSvw
  22. http://beautysweetspot.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/natahsha2.jpg 021 Natasha Bedingfield + 288 Pts + Stats Votes: 24 Highest Position: 4 Top Ten: 11 Bitch Slapped: 1 [Damon] Years Active: 2004- Present The younger sister of Daniel Bedingfield, Natasha rose to fame in 2004 following the release of her chart topping album Unwritten. She's one of the more original female artists out there with a distinct vocal and a strange and uncanny knack of making excellent pop tunes that shouldn't work but do [These Words]. Natasha suffered from the dreaded 'second album slump' with 2007's NB which to be fair, lacked the strong material present on her debut. She's also been one of a rare few British artists to have success in America, even releasing an exclusive album full of songs lapping up the country's sound. She's currently working on new material due to be released sometime this year, of which the one song I've heard Touch is again rather different, yet still fits the mould of what's popular right now. She did well considering nobody placed her higher than #4. xNMryYx6jww
  23. http://www.hipsterwave.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/lily-allen-gq-03.jpg 022 Lily Allen + 284 Pts + Stats Votes: 23 Highest Position: 2 Top Ten: 9 Bitch Slapped: 3 [brad2k88, Severin, The Controller] Years Active: 2005- Present OK. She's had some reasonably good songs The Fear, LDN, Alfie but seriously  I can't stand her personality, her horrible voice or the majority of her music. I struggle to see what is so fascinating about her. Obviously when Lily enjoyed her breakthrough success in 2006 with #1 single Smile and parent album Alright Still her blend of pop, ska and reggae music filled a void that had long been missing on the pop scene and adding a hint of electro to the mix with follow u release It's Not Me, It's You was another wise move. Clearly I'm not alone as the bitch slaps suggest :P Well all hail the Chav Princess. She's at #22. 03cphhxqlJ0
  24. http://zasmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/robyn1.jpg 023 Robyn + 271 Pts + Stats Votes: 19 Highest Position: 1 [Kuki Saban, RabbitFurCoat] Top Ten: 9 Bitch Slapped: 1 [swagger91] Years Active: 1995 - Present Well I wonder if back in 1998, anybody thought that they'd be talking about Swedish born Robyn a decade later? After her top 10 hit Show Me Love she faded into obscurity over here in the UK though kept releasing material in other areas of Europe. She returned in 2007 with shock #1 and the beautifully arranged With Every Heartbeat and has been a fairly, prominent and interesting artist since then, unveiling 3 albums over the course of 2010 titled the Body Talk Series. I personally find her inventive and something different and am thrilled she got a second chance at an international career as well as how high she's placed in this countdown. 3vfLvZCdT9g

Now I look back and cringe at the thought. That aside, and she still has some amazing songs in her back catalogue. Avril shot to worldwide stardom with her debut album Let Go in 2002, two furthers albums followed as a well as a string of hits such as Complicated, Sk8ter Boi, I'm With You, My Happy Ending, Girlfriend & When You're Gone. Avril herself, is rather bland and odd looking if I'm honest but there's still something about her music that attracts me and I eagerly await her 4th studio album which is expected to drop at the end of this year. rVyRaEIn1Yo
