    Just met Claire, she was lovely! The sessions are always so rushed arent they!

     

    She seems in good spirits and loving life so that was the main thing!

     

    (And she’s happy provisionally to appear on my podcast, but I need to go through management so let’s see!)

    I still think that was all a fuss over nothing. People get drunk, people getting annoying when drunk, people write songs about people who are annoying when drunk. Big deal. I also think it's a great song, as is most of the album. Such a shame this era didn't go better for him.

     

    As much as I can take or leave Olly, I agree with you. If he had been a country music star, nobody would have batted an eyelid.

    Although somewhat surprisingly the uncredited singer Moony did grab a second top 10 hit with Dove (I'll Be Loving You), which was another anthem.

     

    I guess one the ultimate UK examples for me is this cult classic, one of the most joyous pop songs of all-time and my No.1 song of 2000:

     

    In Australia she had a long career, but here it was just this one hit. A second single, Shine, was cancelled before release. She did have a few more hits across Europe though.

     

    My favourite memory of this song is seeing a tweet with the title: “Who thinks Boris lied about his lockdown “parties?”” And this song was playing!!
