  1. For some reason I can't use the special items function, so I'll just insert the links. So :) Christina has been performing a lot lately, so I think we need a topic to share our opinions and impressions :) Late Show with David Letterman Interview You Lost Me - live performance Today Show Interview + Bionic/Not myself tonight Medley Fighter Beautiful Early Show (hasn't aired yet) She has also performed Fighter, NMT... Live with Regis&Kelly Interview Not myself tonight I have always loved Christina's live performances. It's great that while promoting her new record she introduces her older material to the younger generation. I really enjoyed the Genie/What a girl wants medley; i think she hasn't performed these ones in their original versions for a looooong time :) You Lost Me is just amazing
  2. I think Slave 4 You is one of her best songs :) :) ^_^

haha :) ok, that was interesting. i don't think these two are dating, but i think the rumour started right before the final of the contest (after the first semi, as far as i can remember). alexander and lena appeared on some show hosted by stefaan raab together (lena's oslo diary or something like that). they started joking and at some point lena said the two (alexander and her) are going to marry some day. and they haven't been working together, they have just made a version of 'satellite' for the show. alexander played the violin and lena sang along. it was pretty obvious from the dialogue that they don't know each other very well. BUT things might have changed - i thought it was cute when he kissed her right after it was announced she's the winner :) as of her being naked on that video - actually her dream was to become an actress, not a singer. she might have thought of this as of a career move :D

i prefer the bulgarian lyrics as well, apart from the first verse  however, i don't think it would have served better if he had sung the whole thing in bg. it was pretty obvious that we just wouldn't make it to the finals. i liked the performance itself a lot so i'm fine with everything :)

why did anybody think that i was joking?! i told you it was serious. i didn't quote sources in english, as the german ones are more credible at this point. they confirmed it yesterdey, they confirmed it today as well. anyways, at this point they haven't decided if she's going to perform by herself or not. they might do a duet or even a trio :D stefan raabs ambitions is to top himself again - as we know, germany is always striving for success. in the press they say that in the history of eurovision there has been a case of a country winning two times in a row and of a contestant winning twice for his country. so, their goal is to "combine" these two :)

^^^ haha, ok :) more news: there was a press conference in cologne today, here's a link bild.de and these are the highlights: - according to stefan raab there's no doubt that lena will be the one to defend germany's title next year - the viewers will vote for the song that lena will participate with - she doesn't plan to go on tour

you're probably right - after all, you're the one who lives in the country (are you from germany?), so probably you will tell us something about the decision process at a later point. :) Lena - Empfangsparty i found the video of raab saying that; unfortunately, i couldn't find the whole thing, but the host continued elaborating on the idea and there was a great amount of certainty in her words. right after that they said it on the news (not that someone has suggested it, but that lena will do it). as i said, i don't know who has the authority to decide for the whole country, i just assumed that stefan raab's statements matter, as he is to a great extent linked to the selection process (as far as i know). in the video he also says that he has expressed his opinion on some press conference the previous day, maybe the one of the winner in oslo (?!), but no one took it seriously, even though he was very serious. as i said, they might just be overwhelmed by the success, so we'll have some official information, if any, at a later point :))) i just decided to share some info, it's definitely too soon - anything can happen. anyways, i definitely hope the contest will be held in berlin :w00t:

i have another thought - she might just participate in the "unser star..." project again, and if selected by the viewers, she'll step in for her country once more

ok, i'll repeat what they said earlier today. first, they were discussing which city should host the competition. so far, berlin, hamburg and hannover have expressed interest. then stefan raab said : „Ich halte es für durchaus angemessen, wenn die Siegerin den Titel verteidigt.“ - i think it would be a proper decision if the winner defends her title (a loose translation). when asked if she agrees, she said "sure". right after that they repeated on the pro 7 news that she will participate next year as well.

well, they might just be a little overwhelmed by the success right now. we'll see how things will turn out at a later point :)

wow, i'm not lying, why would i? :D but they might change their minds, i don't know. i was surprised myself, i thought it was too early to say something like that

you're right, it's not likely to win twice in a row, but the producers probably think that they owe it to her, since they have waited for 28 years to bring the contest in germany. they probably want to help her become even more popular or smthng... i don't really know who has the authority to decide that, but that's what stefan raab said and they repeated it later on on the news.

today the german eurovision team decided that lena will be representing the country next year as well. i watched how they welcomed her in hannover on pro 7. it was interesting :)

[3 - They are, but they only had Slovenia as a Balkan nation (and maybe Romania and Bulgaria if you count them) voting in the second semi they are not popular over here (in bulgaria). in fact, this was my first time seeing them

i definitely prefer the original. it has a more optimistic message and suits the song better.

Satellite is my favourite song this year, but I'm not sure I'll be voting for Lena, cause the live performances so far are not very convincing.... at least for me. besides, i watched some interviews with her and find her a bit awkward at times.
  20. A + :) Christina on American Idol

elastic love / i am / you lost me
  22. i feel the same way about 'you lost me', which is weird, cause i can't really relate to the song either. i also love elastic love and i am. i've listened a lot to the live version of 'lift me up', so i can't avoid the comparison and like the acoustic version better. desnudate and vanity are also quite catchy  i think it's a great album, but i'm surprised by the marketing  btw, her official site is relaunched.

Christina Aguilera on the set of her music video for "Not Myself Tonight." Christina talks about the meaning of the song and some of the inspirations for the video. Making of NMT
  24. initially i thought it would be better if i didn't listen to the snippets, but... i did it anyways (although i didn't hear all of them) :) i think the album is very well put together and sounds really interesting my favourites are: bionic woohoo sex for breakfast lift me up all i need i am you lost me + the intros i have to listen to the whole thing, but i feel like bionic has a strong concept i'm happy there are no tracks similar to her back to basics style, cause she has also recorded songs for burlesque and i think they will be enough from the 'old christina' for this year
  25. A Note From Christina Aguilera Dear Fans, I would like to take a moment to clarify something that has been brought to my attention this morning. It is very easy for comments to be taken out of context and create unnecessary drama-especially between us women. So I would like to tell you all directly so my words can not be misconstrued to sell someone else’s story…I have absolutely nothing against Lady Gaga or any other female artist in this business. I think she is great, and I appreciate any woman fearless enough to go against the norm. She has earned her success with hard work and a clear focus and I have nothing but respect for that. There is room for all of us on everyone’s iPods. This is not the first time I have been unfairly pitted against another female artist but it will be the last time I comment on the matter. “Can’t hold us down….” With love, C/X
