i saw the video earlier today and i like it A LOT. it's not something new, we've seen lots of artists doing the exact same thing, but it still has beyonce's signature, so it was fun watching it. the song is also nice. but why was a TELEPHONE involved yet again? :D

Christina comments on her dancing in the video: "There is dancing, and I learned so much also as a dancer doing the 'Burlesque' film, moving my body in ways that were, I feel, never as precise before. Dancing always came sort of secondary to me. Vocals were my first love and where my heart really was. I never was as passionate about dancing, per se, but after 'Burlesque,' I really fell in love and I adapted that in the dancing for 'Not Myself Tonight,' but it was really, really fun to take what I learned from the movie." She also commented, ""A lot of that was based on my visual inspiration," she explained.

"Christina Aguilera is embracing natural beauty with a taste of vamp, leather and "Bionic" on the just revealed cover of German GQ magazine ! After singing some of her most complex songs for VH1 it's normal for her voice to sound a bit strained - she's just a human after all :) i think it's a decent performance, she delivered and the energy was really good!!!

my favourite performance is at the 1999 ema's i think this is the first time that i realized she was something special. and there were, of course, many other performances after that (f.i. i can't get no ... oops - vma 2000) :heart:

wow! you lost me seems so good! really touching, even though the quality of the video isn't that good. i have to say, christina might have really created a unique sound once again - this sounds quite intersting to me. i don't have anything to say about bionic yet, but i'm really excited about it's ok (though my favourite song is mercy on me) and the giab/wagw medley yay!!!! :dance:

i don't see how lady gaga was influenced by the fighter video, but i don't think the not myself tonight video bears any resemblance to bad romance either. the madonna inspiration is obvious though. i'm not sure what the message of this video is; it would be interesting to hear christina's explanation. why did she choose to be madonna tonight? :) actually it refers to the lyrics - kissing all the boys and girls, doing things that i normally won't do - and we all know madonna is the queen of pop/controversy/sexual expression and so on, so it actually does make sense. but why didn't she announce in advance that it would be a madonna-inspired material or that she wanted to make a trubite to madonna? i don't really understand... aesthetically, the video is beautifully done. christina is fierce and the outfits are interesting. i didn't like the product placement :angry:

i think we should have had a poll comparing dirrty, still dirrty and not myself tonight. i would be voting for still dirrty :heart: voted for dirrty on this one - the song is emblematic :)

i think gaga's demo is better by far. i don't like britney's version, but she didn't use the song anyway, so it doesn't really matter how people will perceive it. i wonder though if she wanted to make the demo public :unsure: :blink:

i like the new picture and the whole comaprison with lady gaga's outfit seems a little silly to me.... does anyone really believe that someone of that magnitude (like chritsina, who's probably also a very proud person) would intentionally try to look like another singer?!?! i definitely don't think so. no star makes her clothes by herself and unfortunately designers borrow ideas from each other. you might know that beyonce's team was sued for intellectual property rights because of one of the outfits she wore in the 'video phone' video (and lost). so i'd say that beyonce's, lady gaga's and rihanna's outfits are usually much more alike. christina looks great, better than gaga in those pics (imo)

Well, I'm sure singing lessons can do no harm and will make her feel more confident. As of the live performances, 'Don't let me be the last to know' is not a relevant example, cause as we know voices change and the fact that she has done it 10 years ago doesn't mean that she can do it as good today. I'm not convinced that the "You oughtta know" performance is absolutely live. It seems to me that she sings along to some pre-recorded track. I like the "Everytime" performance though, even if her voice is a bit shaky, it's pretty obvious that it's live. I'd love to see her perform more often - I think quality is linked to practice and Britney didn't become famous for no reason, so I'm sure she can do better than that.

actually i think she said verdammte scheisse. the girl is pretty overwhelmed - it's the final, so she has just been told that she's the winner. it's a strange performance, but the song is really nice and i like it a lot!!! lena is very natural and i'm sure a lot of people will vote for germany this year.
