Katy Top 10, should shoot up now!

Those are staggeringly high sales. It's crazy to see she went from debuting with 3000 sold WORLDWIDE of The Fame to 13 million in such a short space of time. A phenomenon if I ever saw one!

Can't believe this did SO bad, I expected Top 10! Brilliant song, one more to add to the flop-but-shouldn't-pile amongst Eva Simons, Kat DeLuna etc.

I think the 'X Factor makes it unfair' argument is pretty weak. I'm no Olly fan but the song that 'deserves' #1 is the song that sells the most. It doesn't matter what platform the artist or song comes from, it's selling the most, so should be #1! Most (I say most as some artists would keep their dignity) artists would allow XF to play their song to give their songs a boost, and Olly hasn't even been mentioned on XF I believe? I would LOVE Katy Perry to be #1 but Olly is proving more popular (as of now) so that's that. If we were THAT bothered about this, DO something instead of bitching! Make a petition to include airplay, create buzz for Katy on Twitter or whatever. The Airplay rule is used in the US and it's actually quite a good idea, their winners singles from American Idol never make #1 any more simply because the airplay is non-existent. However it does mean their charts are a lot slower than ours.

Songs can succeed without the X Factor though. Look at 'Dynamite'...

Well If It's Lovin' was released in November and SOS was out in Feb in the US. Break it Off was released Dec 2006 in US with Umbrella premièring Feb 2007. 'Rehab' was released December 2008 and Run This Town tide her over till early Sept 2008. Then 'RR' was premiered in Oct 2009. She's never really had a break!

No more so than... ALL her albums?! They've all been rushed... and the last 2 you'd never have thought it. She's brilliant at releasing material fast AND in high quality.

Well it's no sooner than the gap between AGLM and GGGB. 'Break It Off' was Top 20 in the US when Umbrella premiered! :D
