It's a fantastic song, but who would want to see/listen to a tribute act?

Who on EARTH would start a Shontelle TRIBUTE BAND?!
  4. It hasn't been the complete flop we all first thought!

I'm quite intrigued about this album. What will they do with him?!

Worst song I've ever heard... I don't think it'll do much even with support. #54
  7. Well that was just a recent example, 'Poker Face' is another good example, she was a relatively small name but when the album came out she still managed Top 15 on iTunes when the album was put on. It can happen and does happen quite often. Well perhaps it's not that many, but he could have been heading for 120k as opposed to 100k this week had it been released earlier. It OBVIOUSLY lost a few thousand sales when that charity version was on so it's deffinitely lost some. Unfortunately he has actually fairly recently taken to his Twitter slating people who illegally download his/other music. No artist wants their music 'stolen' but I can't help but think it's their fault. In the US singles can sell up to 4million copies quite easily. Whereas album's (which usually go online illegally 2 weeks before release) rarely match those kind of sales. But that's a completely different topic.
  8. I agree with this! Why should we have to wait a month a half to be able to buy a song? 'Dynamite' has been on US iTunes since his album release, why should his HOME COUNTRY have to wait another 3 months to get it?! Second singles who coincide with album release (Love The Way You Lie) proves that this works perfectly well! That song took off on it's own and had minimal airplay and has managed to stay in the Top 3 of iTunes forever. And I love the album-build-ups they do in the US. However in the UK it would probably mean a big act (like Eminem, JLS, BEP etc) would be hitting the Top 3 each week with a different track. RACKING up hits before the albums even out! It's such a clever marketing technique. I think the UK needs to step up and understand 'official' release dates for singles are utterly pointless and just harm the singles overall sales. Imagine all the sales Dynamite has lost thanks to its late release (not that it seems to have mattered).
  9. Theo... you gave 'higher' the best score yet it's not your favourite on the EP?

The Wanted. I despise JLS. It pisses me off how they used to BANG ON about their own 'jack the lad swing' SOUND yet nothing they've released sounds anything other than generic R&Pop SHIT.
  12. I smell a leak coming fairly soon! STAY TUNED.

  14. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/0/0f/Rihanna_-_Rude_Boy_Cover.jpg/200px-Rihanna_-_Rude_Boy_Cover.jpg 02 / Rude Boy 10.04 In second place we have 'Rude Boy' the international hit and the biggest smash from 'Rated R' peaking at #2 here and reaching #1 in the US for 6 weeks I recall. I always thought this was the standout from RR when the clips emerged and I wasn't wrong. I do think it'll be widely forgotten in a few years unlike her other tracks but right now this has been voted her 2nd best song. And I think I agree! Favourite lyric: 'Give it to me baby like boom boom boom' And in first place... .... .... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/2/26/Don't_Stop_the_Music_Single.PNG/200px-Don't_Stop_the_Music_Single.PNG 01 / Don't Stop The Music 10.19 Here we have it, the #1 Rihanna song. Another smash from 'GGGB'! (Un)Interesting trivia, this was never meant to be a single in the US but radio played it anyway and it randomly took off! The MJ sample is the best use off an MJ sample ever in my honest opinion and the song itself is brilliant even without it. Truly a Pop classic and will definitely be remembered as one. Favourite lyric: 'I wanna take you away, let's escape into the music'

What stopped FIO? Was it Oopsy Daisy? I want 'Missing You' at #1!! ERGH.
  16. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/69/Sos0su.jpg/200px-Sos0su.jpg 03 / SOS 9.96 (more 11s) This one surprised me, I expected Top 10 but not Top 3! This was her first US #1 single and her 2nd #2 here. I think it's a good song but it relies too heavily on the sample. I like how she didn't do a dull direct cover though and attempted to switch it up. Favourite lyric: 'I'm obsessive when just one thought of you comes up'
  17. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/f/f0/Rihanna-jay-z-umbrella.jpg/200px-Rihanna-jay-z-umbrella.jpg 04 / Umbrella 9.96 (less 11s) Shockingly, this falls short of the Top 3 (I'd say it's easily her best song). This remains her biggest hit, multiple weeks at #1 all over the world and one of the few songs to hit #1 in most of the countries it was released in. This opened many doors for her and will easily go down in history as a classic pop record. It's just brilliant, and to this day still sounds fresh and hasn't dated at all! Favourite lyric: 'May be in magazines, but you'll still be my star'

It's not even been out 24 hours yet...

WTF  They have 3 versions charting, and it's not like their not close to #1 if you LOOK AT THE Popularity bars!
  20. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/7/78/Hardrihannasingle.jpg/200px-Hardrihannasingle.jpg 05 / Hard 9.50 Heading into the Top 5 we have her, in my opinion, best lyrical song. EVERYTHING about it is fierce to the nth degree, and she pulls off the cocky attitude ridiculously well. The label totally f***ed up the release of it though and it will be lucky to go Top 40 here. Still, a great song with her best lyric of all time. Favourite lyric: 'That Rihanna reign just won't let up'

    Sat's look like they've got a #1 to me...
  22. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/61/Unfaithful.jpg/200px-Unfaithful.jpg 06 / Unfaithful 9.35 Next up is her first ballad single, vocally it's pretty horrendous but the lyrics make up for it. I find it pretty overrated if I'm honest, and I wouldn't place it within her Top 10 of all time. I think the sound-a-like bonus track 'Cry' is much superior. Favourite lyric: 'I don't wanna be, a murderer'
  23. http://i46.tinypic.com/vovf5l.jpg 07 / Fire Bomb 9.31 At #7 we have the highest album track from her, the fan-favourite 'Fire Bomb' looks set to join 'Breakin' Dishes' in a single-that-never was. I don't agree that this is as amazing as people say but it is a very strong album track. I think it's overrated, or getting overrated though unfortunately. Favourite lyric: 'Fire department, ambulance you can call me crazy coz I believe the only move for me and you is to go out blazing'
  24. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/58/Pondereplay.jpg 08 / Pon de Replay 9.23 Back to where it all begins. Her debut single and first huge hit 'Pon De Replay' comes in at #8. Who'd have thought she'd be what she is now, one of the biggest artist on the planet! Bravo for breaking the Nina Sky's and Lumidee's one-hit-wonder pattern! Favourite lyric: 'Let the bass from the speakers run through your sneakers'
  25. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/c/c6/Shut_Up_and_Drive_-_Single.PNG/200px-Shut_Up_and_Drive_-_Single.PNG 09 / Shut Up & Drive 9.19 Up next we have the second single from 'GGGB'. It performed somewhat poorly considering it was the successor of 'Umbrella'. However it still went Top 5 and Top 20 in the US. I remember when the news leaked it would sample 'Blue Monday' and I was SO excited to hear it. I did find it a bit of a let-down if I'm honest, and I never play it any more. Favourite lyric: 'I'm a fine-tuned supersonic speed machine'
