But if mods can just pluck random TV shows and ban all songs from those too I should it's becoming all very dictatorial. They might as well give us a list of songs we CAN use.

As previously stated I don't believe entries should be limited in any way but I appart from adding a wee bit of confusion over some entries during the confirmation process I don't see these rules having a major negative effect on the competition. That said I don't think this will help the reducing number of participants in the contest as the majority of people who don't stick around aren't the most original of contestants.

I don't get the hype tbh. It's a very nice song and there was no question as to whether it'd get a point or two but I don't think HURTS are going to be big in 2010 is all.
