Of course. By train you could be from Barcelona in only 1 hour and a half. There are some low cost companies (like ryanair) that fly from UK to Girona airport (cause it's a secondary spanish airport).

Girona is in Catalonian region, NE Spain. About 200 km from Barcelona... more or less.
