  1. good good - glad it makes sense to you now! What do you think of the chart? - or the idea of it?
  2. This weekly chart is done under a points system, I've taken the Top 100 Singles and Top 100 Albums and given an artist points for where they appear in each chart - 100 points for No.1 99pts for No.2 down to 1pt. for No.100 Obviously if artists appear more than once then they get points for each time they appear. Once all the points are added up I'll put them into a table and do a top 40 - in the event of a tie the artist who has a song/album higher in the charts comes first. 01 01 Kings Of Leon - 375 02 02 Beyonce - 332 03 03 Girls Aloud - 323 04 08 Akon - 292 05 05 Rihanna - 288 06 04 Take That - 270 07 32 Lady Gaga - 269 08 07 Pink - 265 09 13 Saturdays - 259 10 15 Ne-Yo - 248 11 06 MGMT - 237 12 12 Script - 235 13 10 Kanye West - 233 14 11 Britney Spears - 231 15 14 Killers - 223 16 09 Katy Perry - 220 17 20 Alesha Dixon - 205 18 18 James Morrison - 197 19 17 Leona Lewis - 186 20 19 Snow Patrol - 173 21 22 N-Dubz - 170 22 23 Jeff Buckley - 170 23 16 Duffy - 166 24 24 Jason Mraz 163 25 29 Nickelback - 124 26 36 Lil' Wayne - 123 27 21 Ting Tings - 115 28 --- Fleet Foxes - 110 29 31 Chris Brown - 109 30 25 Sash - 102 31 27 Coldplay - 101 32 40 Vampire Weekend - 100 33 --- Kid Cudi vs Crookers - 99 34 33 Nelly Furtado - 98 35 28 T.I. - 98 36 37 Kevin Rudolf - 96 37 26 Pussycat Dolls - 96 38 34 Alexandra Burke - 95 39 --- Roger Whittaker - 85 40 --- Sugababes - 84 So not too much movement other than a bit of a dip for Duffy at #23, plus a decent climb for Vampire Weekend and Lil' Wayne at #32 and #26 respectively, but the big move is Lady Gaga climbing 25 spots to #7 with the release of the album plus Pokerface debuting in te singles chart this week, it was to be expected. Well done also to Kings of Leon who remain at the top of the chart for the second week.

Ok, so keep the airplay in for the whole chart, but why do they need to divide it so the top 10 is solely downloads and 11-40 includes airplay?
  11. drynet posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Can I ask, what is the point of having downloads and airplay for part of the chart and only downloads for the top 10???? It seems completely pointless and makes the chart pointless - just take airplay out altogether!

LOL! yea, that would be a typo then! but yes it is a good idea - surprising to see KOL at the top, I would have thought Beyonce or Rihanna, plus interesting to see Jeff Buckley moving up, obviously due to his albums.

    Making this a weekly thing, as suggested (thanks davetaylor!) - this is done under a points system, I've taken the Top 100 Singles and Top 100 Albums and given an artist points for where they appear in each chart - 100 points for No.1 99pts for No.2 down to 1pt. for No.100 Obviously if artists appear more than once then they get points for each time they appear (this week for example Beyonce appears twice in Top 10, she gets 94 points for being at no. 7 and 93 points for being at no.8, also she receives points for being elsewhere in the chart!). Once all the points are added up I'll put them into a table and do a top 40 - in the event of a tie the artist who has a song/album higher in the charts comes first. 01 05 - Kings Of Leon - 354 02 03 - Beyonce - 339 03 04 - Girls Aloud - 321 04 01 - Take That - 310 05 02 - Rihanna - 305 06 20 - MGMT - 278 07 07 - Pink - 260 08 15 - Akon - 253 09 06 - Katy Perry - 243 10 11 - Kanye West - 242 11 13 - Britney Spears - 235 12 10 - Script - 233 13 17 - Saturdays - 229 14 09 - Killers - 223 15 12 - Ne-Yo - 221 16 08 - Duffy - 211 17 14 - Leona Lewis - 203 18 21 - James Morrison - 195 19 19 - Snow Patrol - 188 20 27 - Alesha Dixon - 180 21 22 - Ting Tings - 171 22 18 - N-Dubz - 166 23 39 - Jeff Buckley - 152 24 16 - Jason Mraz - 146 25 26 - Sash - 124 26 25 - Pussycat Dolls - 123 27 24 - Coldplay - 115 28 30 - T.I. - 114 29 36 - Nickelback - 109 30 28 - Elbow - 101 31 38 - Chris Brown - 101 32 31 - Lady Gaga - 100 33 33 - Nelly Furtado - 99 34 29 - Alexandra Burke - 98 35 32 - Basshunter - 96 36 NE - Lil' Wayne - 95 37 NE - Kevin Rudolph - 91 38 34 - Stereophonics - 90 39 35 - Boyzone - 90 40 NE - Vampire Weekend - 90

How will they do against the collaboration of Rihanna and Justin Timberlake? Girls Aloud - The Loving Kind vs Rihanna ft. Justin Timberlake - Rehab Check back for results in a couple of days!
  22. I'm so glad it isn't - I fail to seen the point of putting airplay in with sales, fine have an airplay chart (which we do) but to combine sales and airplay has always seemed pointless, which is why I've never been a huge fan of the Hit40Uk!

It's just this weeks points (week ending Jan 10th), I'll do another one for next weeks chart tomorrow/monday
  24. Probably, but then would have dropped rapidly and would be out within weeks, i much prefer the chart as it is now, I really hated the SIANO every week situation!
