Artists Chart
Wherever an artist ends up in either the singles or the album chart they get points, as i am basing it on the top 100, the artist at no.1 will get 100 points, no2. 99 points and so on all the way down to 1 point for no.100 Because some artists have more than one song/album in the charts they get points for each song/album for example Take That appear 7 times in total (4 times in the singles chart and 3 times in the album chart) SINGLES - Greatest Day - no.10 (91 points), Rule The World - no.45 (56 points), Shine - no. 82 (19 points), Patience - no.90 (11 points) ALBUMS - Circus - no.1 (100 points), Beautiful World - no.30 (71 points), Never Forget - no.79 (22 points) All add up to 370 making Take That the most successful on a points system Hope that makes it a little clearer

Artists Chart
This was just an idea I had, using a points system take the weeks top 100 singles and top 100 albums and see who is the most successful artist as far as having singles and albums in the charts goes - points being 100 for no.1 and 1 point for no.100 If a single is done by 2 artists (eg. Broken Strings) because James Morrison has an album in the album chart both he and Nelly Furtado get 96 points (being no.5 in the singles chart). However if it is the only time both artists appear (eg. Wiley ft. Daniel Merriweather) then they stick as one. In the event of a tie in points it is the artist with the highest chart position that will be placed first, if the chart position is the same it is the artist on the singles chart that will be placed above the artist on the album chart. I'll do a Top 40 because after that there are a lot of ties. 01 - Take That - 370 02 - Rihanna - 352 03 - Beyonce - 343 04 - Girls Aloud - 334 05 - Kings Of Leon - 313 06 - Katy Perry - 263 07 - Pink - 255 08 - Duffy - 251 09 - Killers - 245 10 - Script - 239 11 - Kanye West - 239 12 - Ne-Yo - 238 13 - Britney Spears - 233 14 - Leona Lewis - 229 15 - Akon - 208 16 - Jason Mraz - 206 17 - Saturdays - 184 18 - N-Dubz - 182 19 - Snow Patrol - 180 20 - MGMT - 176 21 - James Morrison - 173 22 - Ting Tings - 173 23 - Sugababes - 156 24 - Coldplay - 133 25 - Pussycat Dolls - 130 26 - Sash - 125 27 - Alesha Dixon - 113 28 - Elbow - 111 29 - Alexandra Burke - 100 30 - T.I. - 100 31 - Lady GaGa - 98 32 - Basshunter - 97 33 - Nelly Furtado - 96 34 - Stereophonics - 95 35 - Boyzone - 94 36 - Nickelback - 94 37 - Miley Cyrus - 93 38 - Chris Brown - 90 39 - Jeff Buckley - 89 40 - Guru Josh Project - 83

that wouldn't be 'Top of the pops' then - if the songs aren't in the chart then they're hardly 'TOP' at that point are they, bring back the 80's format, only have the acts perform live, but only songs in the Top 40! the show is called TOP of the pops!
