Alright, calm down! :) It's standard practice for record companies to contact stores midweek (or whenever) and ask them to lower the selling price of singles - in return they will get a certain amount free, etc. I know cos I used to work in one. I think Martin has a physical/download split for the Top 200s and comparitively Ting Tings were doing quite well, at least at the beginning of the week.

I think it will probably go to the wire (hope we get some sales later). What I was saying is that Ting Tings are doing everything they can to defend their #1. Have we accounted for the fact that they are #2 AND #35 on iTunes?

...but Ting Tings have reduced the price of their CD single to 99p - in HMV at least

That's a shame the album isn't on iTunes yet. I was wondering why Andy hadn't charted yet. I'm predicting #16-#20. It's likely to debut lower and then climb to its peak in the week after the contest.

Ah, it's probably cos techincally it was a re-entry at #2. It charted as a 12-inch only a couple of months earlier for two weeks. If a "re-entry" is allowed then this is the last time there were entries at #1 and #2 in the same week. If not, it's Chico and Pussycat Dolls

More recently, I've got: 1 McFly - Star Girl 2 Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit This is from chartstats.co.uk though. Can anyone check this, as I don't recall Fedde entering at #2?

I'm not sure what's going on with this one. It charted at #3 in the indie chart on Sunday, which means it was released a week early but is only showing in the mids this week as a rather lowly new entry. The indie chart is definitely physical only so this is all a bit weird!

Popjustice are reporting Chanelle to be #62... This is nearer to what I was expecting
