I can rarely tell what sopranos in particular are singing, the lower voices seem easier to follow. But I think that the sheer scale of this production will give it huge visual impact, lots of colour and movement. Does anyone know if this production is related to the earlier Albert Hall one in any way? Is that the DVD that you have bought, Sue? And how well-known in the opera world are the other people taking major roles? I hope D doesn't encounter jealousy from the cast because of his swift rise to major role.

Oh dear, half price tickets seem to indicate a lack of buyers. But then, there are around 24000 seats to sell. I do hope there will be a large enough audience to carry the performance. Nothing worse than a nearly empty theatre.(or arena) (I don't read Mills and Boone, but I think the plot format is well-known.)

The plot is easy to follow, BP, not as complicated as GWTW. And it is being sung in English (as translated by Amanda Holden). Think typical Mills and Boone carried to excess.
