Jennifer's hip hip sound bombed with Rebirth, her Latin sound bombed with Como Ama Una Mujer, and her dance pop sound bombed with Brave. For someone with such a limited voice, I'm not sure what other sound she could use to reinvent herself. The public is over her and her record label isn't going to want to spend a lot of money on an album that will likely bomb.

Jennifer Lopez might have to start looking for a new label if she wants to make another original record. A source close to Epic Records and Epic’s parent company, Sony BMG, says that the label is fed up not only with J.Lo’s paltry album sales, but with the amount of money it’s costing to promote the diva. “She costs too much money and doesn’t sell enough,” says the source, who is familiar with the issue. “Her last album cover alone cost $60,000 in hair and makeup, lighting, photographers, re-touching, etc. The video budget was in the neighborhood of $300,000.” And that’s just what it costs to get the album out the door. Lopez performed on “Good Morning America” earlier this month, and all the costs were absorbed by the label. “Epic had to eat the cost for that entire performance. From her makeup — which typically costs in the neighborhood of $8,000 per day — to the backup singers, to the rigging, lighting and sound,” says a source close to the Lopez camp. “The woman requires everything short of flying monkeys to get on a stage.” Lopez also appeared on “Dancing With the Stars,” and a source who is familiar with the standard costs of performing on the ABC hit estimates that it cost Lopez and her label at least $60,000. Lopez has been promoting “Brave,” her first studio album to not debut in the top 10 on Billboard’s charts. “Brave” was released Oct. 9 and sold only 53,000 copies in its first week. The record label makes an average of $4 per CD, according to most estimates. Any way you do the math, the label is not coming close to breaking even on Lopez. “Sony and Epic might keep her,” a source who is familiar with the situation says, “but she’ll be doing little more than greatest hits albums. That you can do without incurring a huge cost. 2 Hearts is an awful song. It isn't catchy, nothing about it is vocally or lyrically impressive. It deserves to flop, but it won't since Kylie is celebrated in the UK.

Everything J.Lo touches flops hard now. I think she should call it a career. Her album sales are flagging, the movie roles have dried up. She's a washed up has been.

Not very good at all, but Britney picked a poor week to release her single. She can't compete with popular UK artists like Leona, Take That, Sugababes, McFly. She should have released her single physically last week.

Bubbly is so relaxing to listen to. Something about that song and video just makes you feel good. Great song.

Flat On The Floor, So Small, I Know You Won't and Last Name are my faves at the moment. Does anyone think Carrie should release "So Small" in the UK? The song isn't THAT country. I wonder if she could have some success a la Shania and Faith Hill.

J Lo's album is not doing bad at all in the US, IMO. It was one of the few Spanish-language albums to debut in the top 10 on our charts (I think there were 3-4 albums that managed to do so in the past). Her appearance on American Idol will give her a big sales boost as well. I don't think anyone putting out an album full of Spanish-language ballads is going to expect the album to hit a million or more copies sold in the US. That's just not going to happen. She knew she was limiting her market to her die hard fans and Spanish speakers with this album.

I hope this is just a rumor. Still Dirrty would flop so badly. She needs a smash from this album; SD is not it.

Good to see the single moving up. It is flopping here in the US. She was getting good digital downloads, but radio was not supporting the track. It peaked at #25 two weeks ago, and is down to #29 now.

I wouldn't expect her Spanish to be perfect, because Beyonce doesn't speak the language, so she has to learn the lyrics phonetically. I can't judge her Spanish accent, as I don't speak it either, but I do speak French, and still remember when she butchered the language, singing the song from Les Choristes at the Oscars. Home Girl just needs to lay low for a while. She's talented, but she's so overexposed right now, she needs to take a break. Branching out into movies and the Latin market is just more overexposure.

I don't think Juanes is as famous as Shakira is. Here in the US, the only people who know Juanes are the Latin American immigrants, while the whole country knows who Shakira is.

The owner of this store is the one who looks bad in this story. It's petty to ban people's music from your store just because they won't promote their album there. Realistically, why would J Lo promote her CD at a chain that only has 50 stores in the country over a chain store that has thousands of stores all over the country? It's not like they don't sell international albums and foreign language music at large chain stores in this country. I always notice a section for that whenever I am in a record store. BTW, I'm a white American girl, and we don't call ourselves "Anglos" or refer to our media outlets that way.

Beyonce. She has a nice singing voice, while Shakira sounds like a goat.

With Love is a great pop tune. I can take or leave Hilary, but a lot of her songs are catchy.
