I think all the artists have a lot to offer... Bernie Nolan: lead singer in the Nolan's and a solo singer. She’s also an actress of screen, stage and musical theatre. Kim Marsh: Singer in hear' say and a solo singer. She’s also an actress of screen, stage and musical theatre. Marcella Detroit: One half of Shakespears Sister and a solo singer. She has a soprano voice and is a guitarist and songwriter. Vanessa White: Member of The Saturday's girl band and solo singer, she has an extensive vocal range. Co- written songs and appeared in several theatre productions. Alex James: Member of band Blur plays bass guitar. Music co-writer and co-producer and writes for British newspapers. Hosted and presented on Classic FM Danny Jones: Member of band Mcfly. Singer, guitarist and song writer. Jimmy Osmond: Member of the Osmond's group and solo singer. Appeared in Pantomime and musical theatre. Darius: Solo singer, song writer, musician & West End actor. Appeared in the Scottish Opera as a teenager. Darius aside, the ladies I feel are stronger than the Men. Men don’t vote as much as women so the men may have a better chance of getting the female votes. Unless he has an amazing voice that no one has heard yet I think Alex is the weak link. When Darius appeared on Pop Idol the Media had already done their worse and would have you believe Darius was the most hated person in Britain. Darius turned that around and won over a large majority of the public so I see no reason why he can’t do that again, plus he is the strongest singer among the men. :) The bottom two contestants will have a sing off and the judges will choose who goes. I just wish this was a show where singers could push themselves and learn a new discipline rather than a vote off popularity contest. I also wish Meatloaf wasn't on the judging panel. I've seen him in interviews and he comes across as obnoxious and intimidating. :(
  2. No one else Paul - Darius was the focal point, great isn't it

Happy New Year All :) I can remember Darius saying after Pop Stars that he would never appear in another reality TV show - never say never I guess! I don't think changing his name to Campbell will make a jot of difference as most people think of him as just Darius and will probably continue to do so. Not sure about this move, if he doesn't win he may be thought of an also-ran, and for the third time. Also as opera isn't unfamiliar territory for Darius it may be thought he has an unfair advantage. All reality shows are not about talent anymore, they're popularity contest's so not sure where that will place him (first in my book ;) ). I'm usually optimistic but try as I might I'm not feeling it. I so hope by the end of the show I'm back shouting how glad I am to have been so wrong ;) We've all been waiting so long for another album, I wasn't hoping for it to be opera :(

Hello All - I was and still am Sooz :D I've always found it to time consuming to post on all forums so have basically kept to posting on just one, but reading on others when I've found time. I've not seen any forum yet that doesn't have a certain amount of negative posts and that's noting to do with the forum but everything to do with people who post. I've learnt to ignore it, as long as I can keep up to date with Darius career I'm happy - wherever I lay my hat, that's my home http://bestsmileys.com/hat/4.gif

I’m sorry to see the forum closed, I haven’t visited for a couple of days as I’ve been unwell; did Rachel not forewarn people she was closing it? :( I don’t think anyone should be blaming themselves for not using it enough. The idea of a Darius forum is to talk about Darius, his music and performances, and with him living away and not much news to be had its inevitable his forum will get less use. I know my opinion won’t be popular but Darius himself could and should have left the odd message on there for his fans as he had in the past, a thank you for his birthday present would have been a nice polite gesture for starters. However Darius’ music and talent never disappoint and I hope we have more to come in the future. :)

My signature is my answer to this one!
  13. Not such a good review until it to comes to Darius :) Reuters.com LINK Darius Danesh, who won fame on the U.K. television show "Pop Idol," does a much better job of channeling Clark Gable as Butler. He's a fine singer and not a bad actor. The rest of the cast have the burden of delivering a series of musical numbers that, unusually for a musical, are not listed in the program.
  14. Here you go Meg ;) - From the Press Association LINK Standing ovation for Darius' Rhett 6 hours ago Pop Idol star Darius Danesh received a standing ovation for his performance as Rhett Butler in the new production of Gone With The Wind. The 27-year-old Glasgow-born singer stars opposite US performer Jill Paice in the Trevor Nunn show. A star-studded audience turned out to watch Danesh take on the role made famous by Clark Gable in the 1939 film. The first preview of the adaptation of the 1936 Margaret Mitchell novel ran to a mammoth four hours. By the US civil war epic had been cut down to three-and-a-half-hours, including the interval, in time for opening night. Actresses Joan Collins and Barbara Windsor, broadcaster David Frost, comic and writer Ben Elton, model Twiggy, ex-Blue singer Duncan James and Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Philips turned out to watch the musical adaptation, which cost a reported £4.5m to stage. Danesh said afterwards: "I had a blast, it was my first opening night and it was great to cut my teeth with the inimitable Trevor Nunn." Of the length of the production, he said: "We are still shorter than the film." The production is the first play written by US mother-of-three Margaret Martin, who took the idea to director Nunn after gaining the rights to the story. Danesh previously played Sky Masterson in Michael Grandage's production of Guys and Dolls and was the youngest actor to play Billy Flynn in Chicago.

And not necessarily without ;) If Darius is asked to play on Broadway I can't imagine him turning down the opportunity.

There is an article in thestate.com which is mainly about Margaret Martin - I found the following line of interest ;)

I believe all this negativity about Darius is voiced by those who believed all the rubbish said about him in the beginning. Darius has proved their perception of him was wrong, now they just can’t for one minute admit that they were wrong to believe it - well that may make them look foolish :heehee: I believed when Darius appeared on Pop Stars that he would be a star one day. I’m so pleased he has the strength of character to make that happen. He’s well on his way :winner: I feel like a proud Mum :D I think of Darius when I hear this song ‘I Am who I Am’ by Ben's brother (great song) No I don't mind if you think I should grow my hair And no I don't mind if you pick out the clothes I wear But know I can keep my head when all around me are losing theirs Because I am who I am, and you can't change me I've done what I can; now I'll stand my ground You're tying my hands if you re-arrange me It all falls down, It all falls down Why when you dream do you see me as something I'm not? Why don't you wake up and see all the good things you've got? A heart isn't made out of clay Not something you shape with your hands Understand I am who I am, and you can't change me I've done what I can; now I'll stand my ground You're tying my hands if you re-arrange me It all falls down, It all falls down Is the reason you ask me to change so that you'll stay the same? Well I'm sorry if I keep disappointing you again and again But I am who I am, and you can't change me I've done what I can; now I'll stand my ground You're tying my hands if you re-arrange me It all falls down, It all falls down It all falls down It all falls down It all falls down I am who I am
