What did everyone think of Eli Stone?!!! It was certainly different.... weird and wacky, but fun!! The writers certainly have a wonderful imagination :D I think it will do well - a harmless, fun programme that I will continue to watch Julie I also thought it funny that they showed an advert for Will's 'Let It Go' during one of the ad breaks - it's the first time I have seen the advert and I thought that was entertaining as well!! :D

Good to see Natasha's picture in several TV guides for next week I'm looking forward to seeing Eli Stone - it looks different and fun! :D Julie

Thanks for your answers Meg and BT - I am so glad that D was the rightful replacement! I was starting to feel a bit resentful that Sarah was casually dropping a remark into her interview to make it seem that she should have been in the final 10 instead of Darius!! I always thought that D officially had the next highest number of votes and I am glad that was the case I wish Sarah luck with her future music career - I don't think her single made much impact, maybe her album will do better. Maybe she will release the same week as Darius!!!!! Julie

I didn't know whether to post this or not, but back to Sarah Whatmore again and re your post on .net in the orange news about dramatic comebacks and D replacing Rikk Waller Meg...... I was reading an interview on DS with Sarah re her comeback bid and she implied that she was given the opportunity to replace Rikk on Pop Idol before Darius and she turned it down as she fully expected a male to win!!! Is this just old news and something I didn't know or does anyone know if it is true because I've certainly never heard it before!!! Julie

There is a full page article on Sarah Whatmore in the Daily Star magazine today: 'Take 5 Rising Star - I needed to disappear' .....Despite not making the final ten, Sarah signed for Simon Fuller's record label, 19 Entertainment, and released a single 'When I lost You'. But, unlike fellow contestants Darius Danesh (there is a small picture of Sarah with Darius) and Gareth Gates, she disappeared long before the public grew tired of her  "I don't regret Pop Idol, but I wanted to be around for a long time and somehow my instinct said, go off and write." Her single 'Smile' is out now and her album, 'Time to Think' will be released early next year!! Julie

Hopefully Darius is, at long last, changing his 'My Space' page - it hasn't been 'normal' for a couple of days now!! :D Julie

You could be right Bramley - the Scottish Fashion Icon does have his own style!! :D It looks like a pleasant day in LA - the boys are wearing shorts and D has a short-sleeve shirt on - but Natasha looks like she is trying to keep warm and D is wearing his scarf!! I have just always assumed that he wears a scarf to protect his voice when he is 'hard at work' - something to do with his vocal chords!! Natasha is filming the 2nd series of Eli Stone as well so maybe she is making sure she doesn't come down with a chill!! :D I'm waffling!!...... Julie

Morning everyone :hi: Bramley, I don't think your views really differ from mine in many respects and Preston I totally agree about the group of 'lads' who, maybe after one or two serious reviews of GWTW back at preview stage totally delight in condemning the show (and occasionally Darius) at every opportunity they get. I agree Bramley that they are a 'closed shop' and they find it amusing but it is a shame that posters who are not of the same thinking very rarely receive serious answers when they are looking for information about performers/shows. I notice that DVO is now being discussed over there, sometimes not very flatteringly!! Even if I was not such a huge Darius fan I would still get upset by some of the insults posted (even if they were supposedly in jest!), as I do about any celebrity when insults go OTT!!! I'm afraid it is one of the 'side-affects' of internet Forums - I am sometimes shocked by the things people post - if I dislike an artist or do not appreciate something they have done, I keep quiet because I still accept that they have talent whether I personally appreciate that talent or not, I do not insult them!!! 30 pages were deleted were they Preston?! - that explains what happened to the posts I was looking for yesterday!! :D It will be so sad if GWTW does resurface somehow/somewhere without Jill and Darius or maybe even with Jill but without Darius - we will just have to wait and see what transpires......... Julie

He is wearing a scarf to protect his voice so he must be working - recording? auditioning? performing? I wish he would just tell us something!!! anything!!! DARIUS????!! Natasha looks like she is feeling the cold!! :) Julie

I suppose it has to be 'Colourblind' simply as Preston says for sentimental reasons and D looks 'drop dead gorgeous' in the video. If 'Save Love' had a video and I had heard the complete song, I may, but only may, feel differently!! :D Julie

I may have read Wickedboy's post wrong, but I don't think he was referring to GWTW Preston, but 'Spring Awakening' which is due to open early 2009, I think!! There is a group of young men posters on Broadwayworld who seem to think their ideas of what constitutes a 'good' musical and what doesn't is foolproof but most of them agree that Darius certainly has talent even if they don't personally like him! What I really get annoyed at is posters who 'jump on the bandwagon' to have a dig at D when they have not even seen him perform!! There is a really good reply to one of the 'young' lads that I have just been looking for but cannot now find which says' 'Have you actually seen Darius perform as Rhett Butler? He is really very good, with the potential for greatness!!' (or words very similar!! ) I always read the posts on Broadwayworld simply for the information Wickedboy seems to have - He seems to have 'contacts'/works in production, or something similar. He was the one who posted when GWTW was given notice that the show would be touring the UK next June and he listed 6 cities - I don't think he would have been so specific if he hadn't heard something!! I have since looked for that post too and have been unable to find it - I don't know if it may have been removed because he has posted that sometimes he gets into trouble if he lets 'something slip' too soon!! It also worries me when a certain number of people tend to monopolise a Forum and 'make fun' of any poster who disagrees with their views! The poster who wanted the GWTW songlist obviously was interested and although the list was printed they also received the opinions of the regular GWTW haters!! You would think that with all their 'musical knowledge' and intelligence they would find something positive to say about at least one or two of the songs!!! With regard to GWTW going to Broadway to celebrate the 70th Anniversary - wouldn't Trevor Nunn still be in charge of casting? I feel Jill and Darius (particularly D as he seems to get most of the negative backlash) were severely let down with respect to how production was handled!! The show should have toured first and then gone into the West End with positive 'word of mouth' from all around the UK. The show was staged at least two weeks too early - if they had held back I feel the outcome would have been so different!! Trevor Nunn surely would offer Jill and Darius the leads on Broadway after placing so much faith in them over here - I'm sure America would flock to see GWTW and probably not even having heard of D (maybe Jill) curiosity would get the better of them and he (they) would soon be a crowd puller BTW every American (and there were a lot!) I/we spoke to even at the first few previews of GWTW loved it - 'This is what a real musical should be like' is one phrase I remember :D Let's hope this wonderful show gets a reprieve and Darius and Jill get to perform together again very soon! Julie (Sorry for going on!! :D )

Although 'Only You' is a great upbeat number I think I have said before that I find it a bit too repetitive to be one of my favourites so...... 'Save Love' for me too please :D Julie

I think I read somewhere that Daniel Bedingfield is now on the release schedule - I, for one, am looking forward to his new music! Apparently, last week a record was released called 'The One' by Sharam featuring Daniel Bedingfield and this is a re-working of Dan's 'If You're Not the One'. I haven't heard it but hopefully it will do well and bring Daniel back into public attention!! :D Julie

Apparently George Michael's Xmas release will be a free download single of a song called 'Feeling Good' taken from the legal fantasy show 'Eli Stone'. If it's released on download only, will there be a video to go with it - I thought if there were then it would probably be clips taken from the show and Natasha would be in GM's video!!! Julie
  18. I haven't seen many photos of Gareth and Suzanne on honeymoon but the ones I have seen looked very natural and they appear so happy and comfortable with each other! I wish them all the best!! :D I think both Gareth and Darius had hoped that their recent ventures (i.e. Dancing on Ice and GWTW) would have been more successful for them both and that on the back of that success their albums would have followed!! :( Gareth has since got married, appeared at a concert singing songs from a future musical and now, according to my favourite paper 'The Daily Star' :D he is going to be the new face of 'World Vision Charity'. Apparently Pixie Geldof was originally in the running for the job but because of her sister Peaches' bad media coverage recently Gareth was considered to be 'a safe bet with a loyal fanbase' and will be going out to India to front the campaign! The UK rights to Natasha's show 'Eli Stone' have been picked up by the Sci-Fi Channel and they plan to start showing Series 1 in the Autumn. Johnny Lee Miller has the lead role and George Michael makes several guest appearances as they use his music during the show. Katie Holmes is filming with Natasha in Series 2. It should make interesting viewing!! :D I wonder if D has been on set with Natasha - he could have a cameo role and sing with George Michael :cheer: :D I think I remember Natasha saying that although George had appeared in the show she had never met him!! :( Julie

:D I've only just read your post Meg - I don't actually read it as such, I just scan through it and look at the pictures!!!  (I used to buy so many magazines just in case D was ever mentioned but now it's just the Daily Star and New magazine unless we hear he is in anything else - how old am I????  ) Julie

According to a young poster on Bebo, she saw Darius on the underground yesterday!! Assuming that she was not mistaken, I wonder why he is back in the UK - It must be something important as I really didn't think that we would see or hear anything of him until at least after his and Natasha's birthday week!! :D Julie

On another note, it is such a shame that Darius is not appearing at ALW's 60th birthday celebration in Hyde Park or Don Black's 70th at the London Palladium!!! It would have been a wonderful chance to show the public how versatile his voice is - I bet if GWTW was still running he would have been there!! Duncan James is listed as a 'West End Star' yet D still gets called 'Pop Idol singer' (the Daily Star the other day!!) and Ryan Malloy and Matt Rawle are both performing at the Palladium. It all seems so unfair!!! :( ONWARDS AND UPWARDS DARIUS!! :cheer: - we're waiting for your next announcement! :D Julie
