Cover Game Debate

UK Combined Sales/Airplay Chart
i'd have thought TV airplay should have less points? 40-40-20 (sales-radio-tv) perhaps?

UK Combined Sales/Airplay Chart
US Hot 100 chart is what it is, airplay led. the digital chart is better gauge of whats selling and #1. as for the relevant comment on this chart - many acts get too much support on the TV airplay.

Predict: Kylie Minogue - All The Lovers
why is it?

UK Combined Sales/Airplay Chart
sometimes think it be better to have elements of airplay in the chart, especially when records are 'held' back for ages after first appearing on the radio.

The CD Single/Album Cover Design Comp

Cover Game Debate
yea that might become a bit boring...? i'm not much good at the 'girlie pop stuff' how about just limit it to 2 designs per artist's cover each week?
-
Cover Game Debate
true, combined though with the reasoning? to be fair on a busy week it's really difficult to pick 10... sometimes it's a shame people don't choose more variety of artists...maybe, if theres multiples of the same artist then only two should be voted into the final "comp"? by the previous weeks winner?
-
Predict: Kylie Minogue - All The Lovers
think thats a little unfair!!

Cover Game Debate
you shouldn't really have to, but it certainly seems to happen... how about for a trial week or two - having however many covers submitted dictates the scoring? (ie) 15 covers submitted: then 15pts for fav, 1pt for least? then every cover gets a vote?

Top 75 Singles/Albums Chart + Comps

When Did Downloads Apply For Charts?
as you didn't specify any country? UK wise this via googling: "with legal downloads having been on the increase since the new millennium began, the UK Official Charts Company decided to organise the official UK Download Chart. Its inception was on 26 June 2004. In early January 2005, the week before the 1000th number one single topped the UK Singles Chart, legal downloads took over physical sales for the first time in UK Chart history. This has been the case ever since, with sales throughout early 2005 being very poor and all-time records for lowest sales being set throughout. Therefore, on 17 April 2005, the official UK Singles Chart incorporated legal downloads as well as physical sales in an attempt to boost flagging single sales. The first official Number One track on the download chart was The Pixies' "Bam Thwok". The single with the longest stay on the UK Official Download Chart is "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley hanging on to the top spot for eleven weeks. In week commencing 1 December 2008 Leona Lewis with her cover version of "Run" became the second fastest selling download of all time. Lady Gaga's single, "Poker Face" is the most downloaded song in UK Download history"

Lady Gaga - Alejandro
firstly, i didn't have a dig at anyone...merely stating quite a common thought that Kylie Minogue has not done too badly being one step behind Madonna over the years. I'm sure she'd be the first to acknowledge this. secondly, where have i implied whom is my favourite artist?? so your final point is irrelevant on both counts re "bashing" i'm lucky enough to appreciate all genres of music, as opposed to sitting in one camp!!

i owe you no explanations on any of my posts this is a forum, where OPINIONS are posted freely, and as such are open to responses, critical or not; if people don't want any feedback, then don't post in the first place.

Lady Gaga - Alejandro
"well it's worked for Kylie Minogue all these years, to be one step behind Madonna hasn't it?" so, from the above 17 word sentence you have derived "so much" and yet so very little.
