  5. Last week Coldplay released their 'festive' track "Christmas Lights" at approx 8pm (GMT) on Wednesday 1st December - and sold 19,669 downloads within 76 hours to debut on the UK Top 75 at a very respectable #18. This, despite that there wasn't weeks and weeks of radio play and "hyped" up promotion, unlike many singles released of late. Personally i wish more artists would release singles more or less the same time they debut on radio/TV - wouldn't this help prevent some of the "illegal downloading"? When I hear or see a song I like then it would be nice to be able to buy it as soon as, rather than having to wait for anything between 6 & 8 weeks before it's released on iTunes, by which time I've often become bored with it, or completely forgotten about the song. Surely it's time for the record companies to start helping themselves more with the modern technology - embrace it, as i don't think it's going away anytime soon... :D

  10. ...."acts having two top tens in the same week" is what i mentioned... :D
  11. "This gives Rihanna the distinction of having credits on three singles simultaneously in the Top 10, a feat achieved previously by only other three acts in chart history" In light of Rihanna's 'achievement' - acts having two top tens in the same week has happened quite often, but maybe some surprises over the years This is not a definite list by any means, just those that i "remembered/or read about" and on double checking via Virgin Top 40 charts book (hence nothing prior to 1960) *key* chart date and pos (last week pos) Act - 14. the 8 weeks "missing" on mine depends which source i guess, wasn't this the time of the postal strike? some sources give those missing 8 weeks to George Harrison's 'All Things Must Pass' as #1 - thus reducing the S&G album 25 weeks (instead of 33) at #1. :D
  15. personally i don't think either of the above acts should have full weeks added to their 'Acts' total as both albums were classed as "Soundtrack" albums, just my opinion :D
  16. Yes, hence me saying "...list might look like?" thought someone more knowledgable might help fill in the blanks - so thankyou!
  17. "05/12/2010 - Take That Marks A Year At Number One Take That’s Progress makes it a third week at number one in the Official Albums Chart today and gives the band a career tally of a phenomenal 52 weeks at number one in the UK’s Official Singles and Albums Chart together, the Official Charts Company reports. 18. talking of Calvin Harris....from his twitter today.... Calvin Harris "I was actually in the studio with JLS earlier this year - we made a song that sounds like 70s Michael Jackson - didn't make the album :(" 6 hours ago "I have to agree of course! ;-) Yeah 3x and Eyes Wide Shut should both have @calvinharris in their production credits."
