Dunno, but Boo is here ....
  2. I looked through this forum to find a newbies page, couldnt find one, so I just wanted to say Hi The King of Rock n Roll .... Elvis will always live on. As an inspiration to so many, even nearly 30 years after his death, his music just captivates and energises me. I may be a fan of music of the here and now but I never forget (like so many) who started it all ... There will never be another Elvis Aaron Presley ....

  9. Please feel free to let it all hang out here on any topic under the sun ... music industry gripes are good, stuff that gets you down generally is ok Its better to do it amongst friends .... This is for unloading bile before it poisons your soul .... not necessariy where arguements are picked please ... Here's my latest. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! I laughed like a drain when the UK Music week ultimate UK artist was announced it was dear Will ... It almost makes one glad Westlife are Irish and were therefore ineligible .... However, it would not have surprised me if one of them claimed British Ancestry in order to get in on the vote.... in the same sort of way that you only needed your budgie to have orange and green feathers and you could play football for the Republic at one time. Made I laaaafff ...... (imagine that in a Vicky Pollard accent ...) Spleen now vented Thank you

Yes only because he "Won" but only after Darius was nobbled in my opinion. If we knew then what we know now, we could have ordered a stewards enquiry.... At last somewhere where we can criticise Rubbish/19 they do not warrant the styling "Brilliant" ... more like c**p. What they have done for our man could be written on the back of a stamp and still leave room for the Lord's Prayer Surely he cannot be happy with the situation.

Before THAT picture was published ... the up the kilt one ... there was another pic that was described as THAT picture. Its the one of Darius with bare feet, wearing jeans and a red top. Its the one they used on the Saturday Show for "Celebrity How Tall" It was distinctive for a very large reason, nothing to do at all with Darius being almost 6ft 5ins Its the one that makes it very obvious he is a very big boy and that all his girlfriends should be very glad ..... Anyone got a copy .... since the demise of the old official board and the Darius, Darius!!! thread, Ive not seen it ....
  16. It was 30th April 2003 and I boarded the plane with Hazey, wondering what we would find at the other end Arriving in Belfast City Centre we checked out the Waterfront .. what a building! We mooched around the city for a while and discovered that Belfast International closed during the night if there were no flights and there were none .. so we were technically homeless ... We got ourselves ready for the event and made our way to the Waterfront. I rang Louise and by chance the taxi was bringing them to the Waterfront. I was on the top floor in the bar and I could see them getting out of the taxi with a big leather bag .. the BQT! Meeting them downstairs was just SOOOOOOOOOO exciting! We had spoken to JanB earlier but here they were, and the welcome was just amazing, like long lost relatives. We hung the BQT on the railings to the top floor and everyone was oooh ing and ahhhh ing at it. Then the support band was on and everyone disappeared. Hazey went to the loos and said to me "I will give you until I get back to think of a way to get to meet Darius ..." Whilst she was in the toilets, I spotted a khaki parka coat with a blond head sticking out of it Next to him was another khaki coloured coat ... with a mohawk on top It was Karl and Spencer. I took my courage in both hands and walked up to them. I said "Hello .. you are Karl arent you ... yes, he said, how do you know ... from the Website ... Im Trishiboo, I made the BQT thats going around the tour .... From then on it was chat chat chat chat ... Soon it was time for the gig. We took the lift to the top .. arghhh not good for two people like me and Haze who hate heights, but hey, we were going to watch Darius!! What a gig. What Id already seen a couple of days before at Rhyl, but on a better stage, with better sound and the whole place totally rocking for our Man. Lou got a kiss when he jumped out into the crowd ... whoa!! After the gig was over we congregated in the foyer I could see him through a glass panel in the door ... so near yet so far. Lou had gone backstage and Zooey had got the BQT signed "Diving in at the Waterfront 30 April 03" I couldnt face the crush so I sat there, feeling a bit glum. All of a sudden my phone went off "Rushes" the ringtone. The name said "LouDanesh" so I answered it "Hi Lou .. whats up" A deep dark voice said "Hello ..." Immediately I knew who it was ... "Hello .. is that you .. " I said "Aye, its me ... " My mind raced "OMFG ...." I took a deep breath and chatted to him for what seemed ages. He asked me how I was and I said tired because Id not been to bed since coming off nights at 7am that morning ... and he told me off!! It was just amazing. I asked him if it were possible to meet him to show him the BQT and properly tell him the stories behind it he said , yes, so I said "See you in Cardiff!!" and he said yes, in Cardiff .. bye ... I could have fallen to bits right there and then. Everyone crowded around me wanting to know what he said .. I said, Sorry, its private and then proceeded to tell Haze, Lou, Zooey and the gang! Well, they were family!! Just after that Karl and Spence came out and sat talking with us for ages. They told us to go next door to see if the hotel could let us have room which we did Some St Tropez tanned girls followed us thinking we were going to be with the band ... but it turned out they were elsewhere!! We said our goodbyes to Lou and Zooey and co and stayed at the Hilton next door. Next morning, 1st May 2003 was election day and i was a candidate I had to get back so we got up early and off we went to the Airport A trip never to be forgotten .....

That kind of experience never goes away. There are people in their 70s like my mother who still cannot forget being bullied at school. Strange to say but Pretty Flamingo always gets to me. Its not the song but the way he sings it. Its the sound that my Paul and I were going to go for in the band we were intending to get together in 1983. Great plans never fulfilled. If you have a plan, go for it You nevr know what tomorrow brings

Speaking of songs from this "era" wasnt Pretty Flamingo recorded in LA at a little club off Sunset Strip ... whatever it was it always sounds so "Scottish Pub Live Music Scene" to me .... and I love it

You can bet your last bottom pair of boots with a goat attached that had we known he was in Paris, with Shakira we would have been there .... Well at least I would have been ..... comme interprete ... si vous avez besoin ... I can see us now, in the Place de la Republique .... on the very site of the Bastille .... Megham wearing her Revolutionary Hat .... Pam with her shirt hanging out ... Boo takes to the steps and declares ... Quand le jour glorieux de la revolution vient, tous les fanas de Darius recueillera et le cri sera.... " A bas les aristos batards qui s'appellent DIX NEUF ... nous sommes ici Darius, ici pour toi ... et nous t' adorons!! The scottish flag will be raised and the assembled crowd will sing . "Allons enfants de la Patrie, le jour de glorie est arrive!!" et apres .... "Abat-jour de couleur" One day ... one day soon ....

In which case Darius, come home now!! Under my Skin was such a high spot for me in the Dive in Tour, way before NUTS (have to say that event in 05 concert wise was a disappointment, too maudlin and full of misery to contain anything by Darius ...) All the cover versions on the tour were just spot on and showed his versatility from Sinatra to Blink 182 We have said it before, Darius can sing anything .. He could chant the contents of the phone book in plainsong and it would be fabulous Oh for god's sake man, come home and sing to me ....
