Bits and Pieces 6
Darius gets mentioned in the mail today together with picture in article about jacqui and guy ritchie. The X Files: In less low-key days Miss Ainsley had a long-term relationship with singer Darius Danesh, whilst Guy Ritchie was famously Mr Madonna.

There is also a long article about him appearing there together with 2 pictures of him in THE Mail today and it says he was joined by Darius campbell. Surely that would have been publicity for D under different circumstances.l

There is a mention of Stirling hogmanay i n todays Sun. but as expected not D - Around 5,000 people packed into Glasgow's George Square for The Bells while X Factor's Wagner wowed party-goers in Stirling by performing in a kilt. There is also a big picture of W in a kilt.

I dont understand that either. The twitter next under that says - Finally made it to Glasgow. But why has entire audience for Snow White arrived 40 min early? Queue goes round the building. He is a theatre critic, feature writer, freelance journalist who has written about the theatre in Scotland since the l980s.

Darius ready to charm!
quote - He should have brought out Ti amerò per sempre ti amo ( his own song , the one on the AT show) /Non Piu Andrai and Impossible Dream as a double a-side, about April or so before he started working seriously on the tour. I agree with that - dont know why he didnt. Perhaps it was because he wanted to be associated with swing becausze of the tour.

Thanks for that great review Baytree, soulds really good. I think that he should put Non Piu Andrai on his album because although it is opera, it is incredibly catchy and I remember he got a great response to singing it when he appeared at covent garden (not the operahouse) and iot could become asociated with him.

I thought the same as you Sooz this morning whilst watching Aled Jones on BBC breakfast promoting his TWENTY EIGHTH ALBUM. I do like him a lot but in my mind his voice is no where near as good now aS Ds. It must be not what you do but who you know. A number of acts who dont have record deals also get to appear on certain shows like Alan titchmarsh show i.e Bernie nolan (not about her illness) who was on last week and others. a bit of a different place compared to winning popstar to opera star which yet again does not appear to have done him any favours career wise.Granted he has had a number of gigs but would prefer them to be of the calibre of the Albert hall and the matt monro tribute concert. As PIP says you would have thought after ten years of performing he would have moved on from the likes of Wagner.

Thanks Baytree, good review and five stars.

Darius ready to charm!
Keith Jack is coming to Torquay mid next year playing the lead in Joseph. A good voice much better than Craig ? also from Glasgow who played the lead on tour this year which I also saw in Torquay but who was a weak joseph vocally.
