Im like Baytree never bothered with either of those. I would have expected at least one or two opera type arias seeing as he won the show. I noticed last nite whilst watching tv that one documentary was backed by opera music sounding like rolando and an adveret also. It does seem opera has become more prominent as background music since the show.

Thanksz claire, that was an interesting interview.
  4. The sun today - Forget to Czech all the lyrics Darius?By IRINA NELSON Published: Today Add a comment (3) OPERASTAR Darius Campbell fluffed the lines to the Tartan Army's anthem last night before Scotland's Hampden clash with the Czechs. Darius was desperate to sing Flower of Scotland at Craig Levein's debut as manager, which we won 1-0. But he raised eyebrows when he reached the second verse of the song. He sang: "And sent them homeward, Proud Edward's army, And sent them homeward, Tae think again." But what he SHOULD have belted out was: "And stood against him, Proud Edward's army, And sent him homeward, Tae think again." And one punter in the crowd later admitted: "It was a wee bit embarrassing. "Everyone knows the words to Flower of Scotland, especially the part about standing against Proud Edward's army. "Darius deserved the chance to sing the anthem at the game, but surely he should have been able to get the words right." When chosen to sing at the game, the 29-year-old said: "I'm so thrilled. The word honour just doesn't do it justice." In January we told how Darius - who won the ITV1 reality show Popstar To Operastar - changed his surname from Danesh to Campbell and sparked a family row.

I was just thinking if on ly his album had been released for this mothers day, would have made greater impact riding on the back of PSTOS. hope they havent missed the boat again.

KJ was just on alan titchmarsh, they talked about PSTOS, Alan mentioned them in the order Bernie, Darius and Marcella and the fact that she is doing her tour but should would be moving around this time as Alan said it wasnt enough to stand still and sing!!!Sorry but to me she looked like a barbie doll.

PSTOS was in my opinion far superior to soapstar to superstar, in fact I was surprised at the production of this for ITV, far above their usual standard. If they were to not recomission this I would hope the BBC would pick it up consldering its ratings were better than Masterchef and a few others. LLB said they were all hoping for its return without Meatloaf I hope.
  8. They dont appear to be giving this much publicity, told a friend and she said why arent they promoting it.didnt know anything about it.

Isnt EMI the label that signed robbie williams for an enormous amount?
  10. Just read an interview from the Scotsman with KJ. where she discusses crossover music, she is the l3th highest paid musician un der 30 and she is have lessons wih Placido Domingo with a view to doing opera at some stage.
  11. I believe it was the lead actress from the show who sang it on JR, I did see it and the melody stuck with me immediately and again after KJ sang it on dancing on ice. What is odd I have read that the leading actress is releasing a single of that song and KJ is also releasing that song as a single.
  12. quote baytree - Well if rumours are true and KJ was up for the lead in LND and didn't get it, she can't be all that pally. She doesn't strike me as much of an actress. She seems to sing all her songs very similarly I agree with the last sentence Baytree but I think she has realised that D performing his aria as well as singing it was popular with the audience and maybe she is looking to change her style.
  13. quote meg - ,And Katharine (according to the Independent) wanted Bernie to win. I knew she would say that because fans on her site were backing Bernie and she wasnt going to go against them was she.She is on dancing on ice tonite with andrew lloyd webber hopefully she is only singing but I wonder what she has said to him in private. She is obviously very pally because she is singing his new song fron love never dies the sequal to phantom of the opera.

It does look like him, but the hair quiff is a bit big.
  15. I remember when he sang at the last event in his kilt he went and stood on the wrong rostrum and had to change places with the soprano.
  16. exert from mail - They are Britain's finest 'classical crossover' music stars, gathered together for the first time under one roof. Now they have recorded a single to raise money for those devastated by the earthquake in Haiti. The result is a hauntingly beautiful cover version of David Foster's The Prayer - the first classical charity single. The 23 artists who donated their services included Aled Jones, boy band Blake, Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts and X Factor runner-up Rhydian Roberts. Also present were female operatic ensembles All Angels and Opera Babes, newcomer Camilla Kerslake, soprano Natasha Marsh and teenage prodigy Faryl Smith. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra provided the music. The atmosphere at the Metropolis Studios in West London was one of organised chaos, the floor of the artists' waiting room strewn with laptops, song sheets and stray shoes. In one corner Faryl Smith listened to the piano on her iPhone, matching its notes with her pitch-perfect voice. In another, Paul Potts and pop star turned West End singer Darius Campbell posed for a picture, while the trio of Irish clergymen The Priests captured the moment excitedly with their iPhones. For all the camaraderie, their staggering collective talent became clear when they started to sing The Prayer, originally performed in 1999 by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion
  17. There is quite a long article in the daily mail about this and mentions D saying he rehearsed his part in the car on the way to the studio. Sorry havent brought it across, quite long but interesting.
  18. Rolando was on the alan meers shows this morning, he talked about PSTOS and how he had learfned a lot about POP ETC ETC but he didnt mention D winning.
  19. I like the one in he middle of Paul and Darius where the caption says classical singers Paul Potts and Darius campbell, sounds good.
  20. Thanks the pictures are great but some funny. I noticed that Darius had his legs bent in the picture with Paul Potts on the right.Paul looks much bigger than I remember him.Rhydian was supposed to be there and men allowed.
  21. Katherine jenkins in on alan titchmarsh next week, wonder what she will have to say, will she mention PSTOS and D as both she and alan were part of it.
  22. The Prayer is on Rhydians first album.

I agree NOW. Also would like crossover/musicals etc n ot necessarily his own but is HE going to realise this or is he of the same Ilk when he turned down SC for his own in which case he will miss the bus again.Basically he has had the promotion already and may get airplay NOW, for a new album but what about a label, nothing mentioned.l
  25. Thanks once agin for the pictures Meg, he loooks so happy.
