Although I saw les Mis on broadway I dont remember the parts exactly but apparently they havent cast Enjolras yet or it hasnt been announced. The only thing I would say about Chicago is it still keeps going in the westend and on tour so it must be doing something right. I personally love it but is this a good step for D. if it happens. Agree with what you say re jerry springer, it has undermined the role to some degree.

Fresh from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, in which he made his West End debut in February (See News, 26 Nov 2008), Gareth Gates will star as revolutionary Marius in the new 25th anniversary production of Les Miserables, which launches a major international tour Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, where it runs 11 December 2009 to 16 January 2010 (See News, 16 Jun 2009). Gates, who first found fame as the runner-up to Will Young on the first series of ITV’s Pop Idol in 2002 and last year was a Dancing on Ice semi-finalist, will star alongside two West End alumni of Les Miserables.

I didnt realise Gary wilmont was 55 now either. Saw him in me and my girl years years ago at Plymouth. he was Ok but nothing special and wasnt keen on the show itself.Off this weekend to see Glyn kerslake who is from my home town I told you about before having played all the leads in the west end. He is doing a concert in Torquay in a church turned into a theatre and it is really lovely. Appearing alongside him is Shona linsey who has also played numerous leads in the west end and tour and still is, so think it will be really good as he is a fantastic pianist as well.Just hope we dont get a lot of Sondheim as am not keen, hoping he will sing from les mis amongst others as he has a fantastic voice.l

I n this last episode although better than last week, i wasnt just some of the acting questionable but for instance the main girl who wa pregant, again didnt like her acting, even had baby bump that didnt look right at all it was in the wrong position, felt generally attention to detail was missing.

Its not doing the show any favours - getting it called stunt casting.

Totally agree with that but even though he cant sing excuses on theatre sites are being made that he gets away with it, just goes to show yet someone who is very talented is virtually ignored media wise.

I watched it tonite, better than last week although some of the acting is questionable. However there was one very good actor who I was very surprised to see in this, he played the environmental officer with a bike but was absolutely brilliant in the tv version of pride and prejudice when he played the Vicar who married the eldest daughters best friend (this was the Colin firth version when he played Darcy)., a part I could see D playing.

the reason we don t see him is surely up to him. Five years is more than long enough to put out an album, sorry but is is true. I find it very sad and odd that he is not out there somewshere at this moment in time, I know people will now say the wedding but surely up and till then it is him himself to put himself out there with gigs etc even small ones and I find it frustrating that he isnt and do wonder if he has gone down the David sneddon route of writing and producing only. Lets face it this route would be much easier for him to see Natasha etc than the other route.It seem s even more odd hat GG etc are out there, married etc and same management,. Sorry but cant see any other reason.

I am more worried that even if some people like him they wont even know hes in it with no comment along those lines at all even from the daily records tv spot.

Im also worried for his episode.

The one made out of fairy cakes, my dauhter in law is always doing it for birthdays, the grandson will be 4 in August and th grand daughter six in september so am sure that is what they will get.Have seen it done at other birthdays as well.

I will obviously definitely be watching again. This first episode jumped around too much for me to really follow it but maybe with different writers it will be better.

Times have changed a bit for wedding cakes havent they. My son and his wife had a tiered chocolate one.

Darius gets a mention again on DS. Someone asked what he sang on movie night of pop idol. Its nice to know someone replied it was Baby can I hold you and it wasnt one of us. Loved him singing that song.

I was travelling back from Dartmouth today and stopped in at Morrisons for a cup of tea and a little shopping. My ear pricked up when I heard a voice singing and it was Darius singing Dive in, it was on for a while whilst I did a bit of shopping and it made my day. It also made me think at the moment what a waste of talent and time marching on.

Thanks Baytree, someone who saw it exactly as I did but I did find the songs stuck after a second listen so it wasnt given a chance but I cant understand why D after that performance hasnt commanded more leads. Is it his choice do you think.

I agree about the scottish papers, the same thing crossed my mind when I read the Suns report. There must be a reason and I dont feel its just because hes scottish. Out of interest I see the new american idol winner has signed a record deal with 19 recordings and it says a division of Jive records.If D is to put out an album it will need a lot of promotion and with a wedding and a house move will it happen. I do wonder if he is still with 19 as five years seems a long time for his management not to put anything out recording wise or appearance wise on the gigs front.

thanks meg. Things are moving at a pace suddenly. Wish the album was. He will be very busy wont he if all that takes off this year.
