  1. I didnt think the singing of the hymn was as good as from a distance which had more technique. Think the same as you PIP re katherine jenkins, also cant stand the warble in her voice. Saw her do a duet on x factor with Rhydian and to my mind she spoilt it by trying to outsing him and that takes some doing.
  2. What a wonderful performance he gave, think it was one of his best if not his best. I felt he upstaged katherine jenkins. I do hope I have it on video as its been playing up. Cant get over how great he was.
  3. Reminder for everyone including B.P 5.10 this afternoon D sings at the Big sing.

quote meg - Wouldn't he make a great Mr. Darcy in the new Pride and Prejudice musical? I'd go and see that. Wouldnt we all. Would even be thrilled to see him in a period piece on tv screenplay written by andrew davies who has done Little dorritt coming on shortly by chas.dickens.Andrew davies also did pride and prejudice with colin firth.

Dont know if anyone saw last night the Burt Bacharach electric proms but he had on jamie cullum singing the song Darius sang on leaving pop idol - Make it easy on yourself - it wasnt a patch on D singing this song - he struggled with high notes and in fact bent quite a few to get round it. I love that song and would put that on a covers album with from a distance if D ever did one. I then watched the american programme C.S.I and one of the main characters was called Darius, his named was quoted all the time. Funny that as I remember D visiting the set of this programme a while back with Natasha and meeting the cast. Sorry news is sparse.

Is he laying a solid foundation of career in the States though as I thought we would of heard of something during the quite long time he has been there. I would have thought he would have had opportunities similar to here to contemplarte but perhaps its to do with the work regulations there.
  10. I don t mind if it is only one track as long as its from a distance. You beat me to it Bramley was just going to post about Katherine jenkins.
  11. Well is all I can say. I was so disappointed that they showed the interview which was good and he said he was hoping to do the hymn justice and then they showed aled jones singing when I was expecting D. Now I feel that because he said that about the hymn that is what they will show next week instead of from a distance. Did you notice the musical arranger of songs of praise used to be musical arranger for pop idol.
  12. If he doesnt sing from a distance I will think there is a plot to overthrow him!!!!!!I dont mind a hymn under different circumstances but not this time only if as well as.
  13. I am also looking forward to this.

From DS - Rex Features ABC has ordered four more episodes of its legal drama Eli Stone. The network extended its order to 17 episodes prior to seeing the ratings for Tuesday's season two premiere. Executive producer and co-creator Marc Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly: "It's an incredible vote of confidence. I had told [ABC] that in order to keep production rolling, I would need to know by Wednesday [if they wanted more]. "I figured at the very least that would give them a day's worth of ratings to analyse. And they were like, 'Nope, we'll just order them now.'" Eli Stone revolves around a lawyer (Jonny Lee Miller) who becomes a modern-day prophet experiencing precognitive visions. I havent seen sunshine yet so cant comment.

QUOTE = But I think the press over there had, weeks before, months before, decided that Trevor Nunn was not going to succeed putting the greatest novel, the greatest film, up on stage. It wouldn't have mattered, I don't think, what we had presented. They weren't going to have liked anything about it, and that's exactly what happene Thats exactly what I think. They had made up their minds beforehand and some people on theatre sites were gunning for it beforehand also. Had one of their favourites been in it,it would have been a different story.

I watched Eli stone for the first time last night. It was OK thats all I can say. The lead man didnt impress me Johnny lee miller I think.
  17. By accident whils videoing today I watched GWTW the documentary which I am so glad I have as it shows snatches of a number of the songs. It made me realise how much I loved the show and how the songs have stuck with me and also how it compared to other shows but most of all it made me think why.. I have seen a large number of musicals in my time a number of which have been much worse and yet did not get the treatment on theatre sites that this received. They have their own little cliques of leading men, women etc who can do no wrong whatever their standard and I realised that on listening to the ALW concert the other night on radio 2, some were awful.

One of the broadsheets cant remember which maybe the times had a long article on moustaches. They raved just about everyone including clark gable but no D. still waiting to read a write up about eli stone. There was an interview with johnny lee miller and saying george michael was making his acting debut but no mention of natasha, strange. Perhaps they thought they would have to mention she was Ds girlfriend.

As you have mentioned WY Darius gets a mention on this review of WY album - its very little but - Will Young Let It Go 19/RCA ** Perhaps the really surprising thing about Will Young is that while his Pop Idol peers Gareth Gates and Darius Danesh fade from view his average, personality-free voice and clumsy songwriting are still plodding on. Let It Go is his fourth album and some of it, particularly the opening tracks, Changes and Grace, which both feature lavish but spry arrangements and whopping choruses, show genuine craft and quality. Then, inevitably, things freefall into the anodyne, hence the unspeakably syrupy Disconnected (think George Michael but asleep) and Are You Happy, a grisly attempt at a party piece. Surely the game's up now. JOHN AIZLEWOOD
