I thought her first single When I lost you was excellent and would have expected it to do better than no.6 however I wasnt so keen on automatic. I dont begrudge her her first album however I think she is lucky, but a talented writer, so many others further down the scale in pop idol etc didnt get the chance to release an album.

This isnt about D but is connected in a way. Yeserdays Daily mail carried a large article on Sarah whatrmore. If you remember she was on pop idol with D, came about 4 or 5 and SC fancied her. She had a couple of hits one called when I lost you which went to no.6 and automatic. She is signed to 19 and hasnt released a song for five years, however she is releasing a singloe called smile on monday and an album under 19 recordings. Apparently she was asked to let a song be released for WY which she refused but realises now was a big mistake. Apparently in 2004 she experienced a pop ephiphany she was asked to appear on the bill of 19 en tertainments 19th anniversary concert at the albert hall. She was the only one who didnt have a sound check and when she sang there was no sound. But she continued and got great applause. the next day simon fullers office was inundated with phone calls with industry figures about her. She now writes with greg fitzgerald. What I was getting at is she is releasing under 19 recordings but still no D which I find strange.

You wont believe the number of people who have said to me they dont like this progrmme. However I always couldnt help thinking max beesley was a bit sleazy, perhaps nigel will be an improvement. Hasnt nigel done a lot of musical theatre including Sky masterson in guys and dolls. I wouldnt give it a miss at all if Darius was on it all the time, he and nigel, double whammy.You all sound as if you dont support D anymore.

On WOS there is a thread under heading performers called performers you would pay to see. Darius is getting mentions re playing in les miserables but I cant quite understand whether they mean it, what do you think.

I do like fragile as well, it does get very difficult.

I totally agree baytree. its the same with his my space, the songs have not changed for ages, he is not using his opportunities. I cant understand this laid backness, can only think he doesnt want to be away from LA too long or should I say Natasha. That email to rachel says a lot but there should be opportunites for more people to do that if they could hear him. It always seems when he gets to sing a great song etc no-one gets to0 hear it, cant understand it.

I wondered if this was on at the same time as ALW birthday party in the park. They are expecting 30,000 for that and Duncan james is singing two songs, Mr mistofelees from Cats an d the song he took into no.3 in the charts from woman in white. I do hope they get a good audience at the albert hall.

Yes baytree I saw return to the cruise and the original programme. I do think she looks better and younger now than she did during the original cruise programme but of course she can afford to now. We do watch loose women if we are at home, I like her the best of all but also like jackie brambles. Regarding her album, she has had high profile on loose women but I do think she is popular with families across the board and this was evident at her show last night, it was so so crowded. Apparently her original come back started when she played the nurse in Hamlet at the old vic.

The event, called the Big Sing, is organised by the BBC, which broadcasts Songs of Praise. The concert will be filmed by the BBC for the programme. Part of it will be broadcast on Songs of Praise Big Sing on Sunday, October 26, and part of it will appear on Songs of Praise Big Sing Christmas Special on Sunday, December 14.

I went to see Jane mcdonald in concert at Torquay tonite. What was amazing was the amount of support she has (the place was absolutely packed out and buzzing, first five rows large fan club, in view of the fact that she stated her album had debuted at no.7 and stayed there for two weeks and had just gone back in the charts in spite of no radio station giving her any airtime and this had been discussed between her and cliff richard same reason for him, she said they wont play them. This seems ludicrous when her album is in top ten dont you think and can imagine the trouble that D must have had with his last album.She said the fact that her album was at no.7 was a shock to the industry. It was obvious from the number of people at the concert and the reception she got that she is extremely popular and is very capable of working an audience. The downside was she had a band of about ten and they were far too loud, together with three backing singers. Would like to have heard her extremely strong voice with just a guitarist, piano, drums giving a much softer output. However she got a standing ovation most of the time. It is obvious also that the fact she is on loose women has given her a high profile for not only popularity but also for promoting her albumn. D definitely needs the same scenario.

Yes baytree I did think the same as you re the categorising. It seems to be a formula for lot of shows. Did you see it last year,I loved the twins,thought they might make a future in tv but heard nothing since. So farf he has let two couples off the hook, last night father and daughter and also the male pair with the gas leak.

Thanks baytree in telling me the result of the restaurant as I had to go out to pick up my grandson from cubs. It was pouring with rain. The carribean lady was axed I gather. not surprised she took a very lazy way out. Looking forward to seeing the others restaurant set ups.
