I am a Capital radio listener too. Will let you know if I hear of any other stations, as I do keep swapping. You are brave not getting your tickets till now. Are you sure The Automatic is at No.97 because I keep hearing it played on every blooming programme :( ? Bet Robbie will soar next week.
  2. I can't believe it either. Just love him. Good luck with the rehab, Tom

I wonder if it is being kept in so that radio competitions can offer tickets for his tour? Must admit to liking this track.
  4. You may be right. It will be all about the music and the promotion. Other artists have been promote, promote, promote and I am sure if Gareth is prepared and is able to cope with that ,then he stands a good chance. Whatever happens, just to see him back and hear him being interviewed will be a treat for us, his fans.

Right. I just thought the more airplay the better chance of success. Suppose it may depend on the song.

Is there such a thing as overplay, do you think? :( Razorlight.
  7. It seems it is all part of the plan to keep him out of the limelight. Imagine how it must feel being a fan :( BUT we are having to put our faith in Simon Fuller. He has taken Gareth under his wing and is prepared to nurture him and bring him back, when he feels the time is right. Hurry up 'the time is right' :P.
  8. Thanks Munchkin We certainly have and we have always tried to be supportive of other artists too. With all the dross we have had to suffer, we could have been resentfull and spitefull, but we have always tried not to be :) . This week has been exciting with news of Gareth's leading his first speech course now all we need are the interviews and the album :) :) . Can't wait to hear an interview, where hopefully he will be able to right a few wrongs :) :) :) .

Posted at the same time. I was just about to say the same thing(although is it more like 11 to midnight getting ready)? At least they may be beginning to wash their hair while watching CD UK:lol: convinced just the right timing.

Sounds good. Good timing. May capture the market. Edits to say thanks.

. Let's hope so. Could just be the right timing and with TOTP dissapearance could create new interest. Any idea who the presenter is?
  12. Agree re the paper. I am a big George Micheal fan but didn't bother to read the article. I like him for his music, not his private life.
  13. Christine Aguilera seems to be added to the playlist quite early, with a 31/7 release date.
  14. Local radio said on sale Monday 9.00. a.m. Whenever- can't wait.
  15. Thanks Awesome and Maud for the info. It is now a waiting game to see what sort of deal Gareth releases on. Just wish he would hurry up. I'm ageing by the day
  16. Yes but how do they make their money? Do you know how it differs from a record deal?
  17. Thanks again for all the info. Just one last question   (promise no more untill Gareth releases again). Who makes the money out of a distribution deal? How does that work?
  18. We hope. I think even I sometimes forget that it isn't just a case of Gareth turning up saying his piece and shooting off to the next interview. He will more than likely have to put effort into his speech, as well as thinking how to reply to the interviewer, at the same time.
  19. Oh Gareth's Go Your Own Way certainly wasn't discounted-£16.97 in most shops. So if the album is discounted who loses the money, the artist or the record company(think I know the answer to this one)? Where do the writers come into it? Who pays them and what percentage do they get?
  20. . So the record company make three times more than the artist(I am in the wrong business). No wonder these artists are wearing themselves promoting in which ever way they can. Please don't say that these artists then have to pay to appear on a chat show to promote themselves (and ultimately make these record companies even richer)?
  21. Thanks for all these replies. All these snippetts certainly help to understand a very complicated (and perhaps sometimes corrupt) business. Wow didn't realise that the record company made £3.00 per album. Seems hard to believe after all the videos they have to pay for (in some very exotic locations sometimes), and to do this for each single released. I don't want to go into the 'they all had hype' descending into a Will v Gareth feud because this thread, I am sure is proving quite interesting to many, whether they are fans of Gareth or not. However surely this is a catch 22 situation. Without promotion and publicity there isn't success and with too much there won't be success. Oh didn't realise that either. How much does the artist make per album then?
  22. I sincerely hope he does. He seems to be a man that remains loyal. I know Will has been doing loads and loads of promotion and appearing on loads of programmes. Would that be paid for by BMG or by Simon Fuller, does anyone know?
  23. Interesting info. Simon Fuller is beginning to sound far more interesting.
  24. Nice to see others eager to spread the news (not). Looks like Simon Fuller's (19) is showing support for Gareth and his exciting future. At least one of the Simon's has good taste.

Ditto- my thoughts echoed. Edits- when it says plays is that in one day or one week? 24 for No1 doesn't seem a lot of plays in a week?
