Soccer Aid
I forgot to put who was in the squad  SEE HERE Soccer Aid is back for another year as World Cup legends and top celebrities go head-to-head in an England versus The Rest of The World football match in aid of UNICEF and its partners. With Ant and Dec at the helm, this year’s event takes place live on the hallowed turf of Wembley Stadium. Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is stepping up to manage England with Bryan Robson assistant managing and his squad includes: Football legends Jamie Redknapp, Alan Shearer, Teddy Sheringham and David Seaman and Kyran Bracken, Craig David, Angus Deayton, Tom Felton (of Harry Potter fame) GMTV's Ben Shephard, Gareth Gates, Danny Jones (Mcfly), actor Hugo Speer, Jamie Theakston, and Jonathan Wilkes. Meanwhile, legendary Scot Kenny Dalglish ably assisted by Ian Rush will take charge of the Rest of the World and players hoping to make it into his starting line up include: Westlife’s Nicky Byrne, Heroes actor Santiago Cabrera, Former Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell, TV presenter Gethin Jones, comedian Patrick Kielty, rugby ace Kenny Logan, cricketer Brian Lara, Sex and the City actor Gilles Marini, Gordon Ramsay, Love Actually star Rodrigo Santoro and legends Jaap Stam, Franco Baresi, Peter Schmeichel, Romario, and Paulo Di Canio. Gordon Ramsay returns to captain Rest of the World, but team England have a new skipper. Robbie Williams is passing on his captain’s armband, and the responsibility of deciding who will take his place is in the capable hands of manager Harry Redknapp. As the originator of the Soccer Aid concept, Robbie is confident that again the match will be of huge benefit to UNICEF’s work around the world. Robbie Williams says: "Being able to help so many people through Soccer Aid was one of the true highlights of my life. I’m gutted that this time round my knee isn’t up to it so unfortunately I’m out of the game. But I hope that everyone involved has the time of their life like I did, raises loads of money for UNICEF and that the best side wins.” Tim Lovejoy and Louise Redknapp will bring all the action from the sidelines while pundits and special studio guests will deliver their live analysis of the beautiful game. Each squad comprises eleven celebrities and five World Cup greats. With less than a week for the players to train and bond before the big game, the pressure is on to get match fit and performance ready. Soccer Aid is raising funds for UNICEF’s health, education and protection work with vulnerable children all over the world. UNICEF helps children to survive and thrive in more than 190 countries worldwide, working with partners to provide emergency support and long-term development solutions. UNICEF is funded entirely by voluntary contributions. Obviously my eyes will be on Gareth Gates, but I might make a slight diversion to Jamie Redknapp, Nicky Byrne and Gordon Ramsay. On a sporting note, am hoping David Seaman is in goal against Peter Schmeichel. Does Louise Redknap know anything about football

Mcfly's new single 'Lies'
Love the song and just loved their performance at the Olympics 2012 party. Both this new track and Winner Takes It All was awesome.

Kaiser Chiefs - Never Miss A Beat
I've heard this a few times and it isn't growing on me yet. I don't know why because I love all their other stuff.

Certainly loooaads of information this week. Interesting re Eva Cassidy how just one tune could propel her into posthumous success. Well done The Verve. Another great read, thanks.

Soccer Aid
Should this be in 'Sport' I wonder? Seems Robbie Williams' injured knee is preventing him from playing  IN SOCCER AID 2008 Is it inevitable that Johnie Wilkes takes the captaincy of England?

I am not sure if I am dissapointed with the McFly guys slipping from No. 1. I admire their work ethic, their contuing to tour and the fact they have taken a chance.I hope they are pleased with the result, this week. Good luck to them. I am loving the Dizzy Rascal track hence my indecision. Thanks for another great commentary.

Dancing On Ice 2008- The Contestants
Well I'm one that certainly didn't think Gareth deserved to go. :( I'm gutted. However he has done absolutely brilliantly how far he has made it through the competition. I was never very confident about him entering initially, but I am so glad he has used this opportunity to demonstrate to people, the real Gareth Gates . I think GBP have seen that he is a very genuine guy  . Obviously my interest in the final has now somewhat wained but I will be watching to see who eventually wins. Good luck to the others.

Dancing On Ice 2008- The Contestants
Me too. Last night in particular he looked as if he was having great fun. Loved seeing him jump over Christina in his final farewell lap. I wonder why he wasn't ever allowed to do that in one of his routines  ? Thought everyone did really well last night with the props. Am usually impressed with Chris and Suzanne but not so last night. The music on Suzanne's routine did nothing for me. Zaraah was certainly better than last week (and the week before). For me Gareth and Maria had the best interaction with each other, using their props and gave the best performance. In fact thought it was his best performance to date. :cheer: Just loved their music too :yahoo: .

One of the reasons I enjoy reading this report is you say it as it is and don't add your own opinions. I felt the last guy's commentary contained too many of his own opinions, hence me stopping reading it. Another great read. Thanks. Well done Duffy.

Dancing On Ice 2008- The Contestants
I do think Linda is going to struggle with the jump (and skating alone) but Greg has already demonstrated his jumps, so he may be way ahead of some of the others. I think the competition is opening up now.

I didn't realise it was her second single  Thanks for another great read. Looking forward to see how Craig David fairs next week.

Dancing On Ice 2008- The Contestants
Sorry I am replying to my own post. I am loving this show, particularly this week with the 60's theme. Wasn't sure who was going to be in the skate off this week but Steve finally left. His poor young daughter in the audience broke her heart because her daddy was leaving. Gareth upped his game this week and gave a great performance and got his first 5.0. :cheer: Next week's require element is an unassisted jump. Linda has only just learned to skate alone (and I love her) but I wonder if she will be able to cope with the jump? There may be extra ice needed in rehersals next week :drama:

Dancing On Ice 2008- The Contestants
Newspaper article today (either NOTW or The People  )confirmed he has signed another Hollyoaks contract so not sure who to believe.(If I have any sense it won't be either of these papers). However another brilliant performance from Chris tonight to Timewarp. He really did excel. Suzanne was brilliant and Gareth for me gave a great performance too. OMG the hair. (I am hopeless with photos, can anyone post a photo of Gareth tonight, please, with or without the see-thru top)!? I felt that although Aggie has seemed to be enjoying her 'journey', tonight I felt she really was not enjoying it. The public voted right and sent her home. Second week for Steve in the skate off. Could it be his turn to go home next week?

Darius to star as Rhett Butler
I'm not sure if it is posted here and I have missed it, but there was an article in the Daily Mail too yesterday HERE I think it is great news for Darius. Although I haven't seen him in any theatre production, he sure does have the looks to be Rhett. Good luck to him. Great news for you fans too.

Good Delta's Chart Commentary
Amazing how this has climbed since the physical release week. However it sure must be high on the airplay charts as it is being played loads. Goes to check position. Edits to say yep. No.2. Thanks for another good report.

Dancing On Ice 2008- The Contestants
She certainly is and seems may be for a few more weeks ahead. I'm not convinced folks are voting for her skating skills  ?? There seemed a divide tonight with Chris, Suzanne and Gareth stepping up their game but the new Corrie girl bought in to replace Micheal (the broken ankle injury guy) cerainly made a huge impact on her first appearance. She may be one to watch in the coming weeks.

Dancing On Ice 2008- The Contestants
Oh :( at an hour and a half. Perhaps they will limit some of the adverts :) ? I know how you love the chart show, so two pairs of eyes and ears come in handy occasionally lol. Bad news re Micheal's broken ankle, forcing him out of the competition. Details here . Yes it is great fun, but something like this reminds us of how dangerous it can be. Wonder if he will be replaced?

Dancing On Ice 2008- The Contestants
How come the time change? Is it still on for 2 hours(including loads and loads of adverts  ) or is it shortened as contestants leave? I know you like to listen to the chart show Val4daJan (or follow it on here). How are you coping with the 2 at the same time?
