Amy's not with Brilliant now is she - they told her to go to rehab and she said no! :lol: ~ She's still with Universal (Island) though and I've just checked all my download versions of Darius's videos and they're all copyright Mercury Records - so it might be worth looking into what seems to happen with Amy's and other Mercury & Universal artists' videos on YouTube yes. Edit: So, first search done on: Amy Winehouse - Rehab - Results 94 - of which, 8 were the full official video, uploaded by various subscribers, between 1 day and 5 months ago. Edit: Lucie Silvas (Mercury) - Just had a look in her OF - all her videos appear to be on YouTube. Haven't got time to search for anymore just now, but at the moment, it's not looking like there's a a general complete pull from YouTube policy by Universal or Mercury to me.

Hi there :D I remember asking you once if you could get me Pink's Dear Mr President Live one - I don't need it now though as I've just used the embed code on my myspace page. As others have said, all of Darius's official videos are available to watch on dariusmusic.net and his myspace site anyway. As for Darius on YouTube, with the exception of Colourblind and a Rushes clip, the official videos always seem to get removed off there. I understand that they've not been uploaded on to YouTube by the copyright holders and I know the rules about that, but I do wonder how come loads of other artists seem to have their official videos on there all the time, yet Darius's always seem to disappear :unsure:

Ah thanks Baytree, I don't do file sharing - so I don't have to worry myself about that then, but it's a warning for those that do though. Yes, I can see how your pc could be vulnerable to exposing other info you have stored on it via those kind of sites, as you have to have an open port to share files. Apart from the illegalities/unfairness to artists associated with it, that's another thing that would put me off doing it anyway, that, and also fear of downloading spyware or a virus within a dodgy file - I believe there are lots of those around too on those kinds of sites.

Blimey Baytree & Meg - you've jiggled some of my neurones lol! I'd completely forgotten about the mini-CDs (I think I've mentally blanked out many things that happened around that time to protect me from the trauma lol! ) - but I do sort of recollect at least one person getting one - did you win it Meg, or did Jonny give it you or something? It never happened though generally did it, but then neither did a lot of things around then :( - I've never seen them about anywhere - mini CDS though and I remember them being promoted for another Universal artist around the same time - maybe McFly? :unsure: ... maybe it was just a promotion idea that never really took off generally? I'm still pretty convinced your Russian copy of Live Twice wasn't legit, though no doubt it will have cost you as much as if it was. If it is legit, I'm lodging a complaint about the UK version missing out Dancing in the Moonlight and a Karaoke version of Rushes hehe ;) :lol: You're welcome about the b-side downloads though :D That's another example of one of the advantages of downloads, a quick, easy and relatively cheap way of getting just the tracks that you really want legitimately. It's important to me, not just financially for the artist, but also it sends back data demonstrating interest in the artist/song whenever a song is downloaded legitimately too. The only ones I'm probably not going to be able to download properly for you are Now or Never and She's Coming Home. As yet, I've not found the DVD's they're on, or those particular tracks on any download stores that I use. Has anyone else seen them in any download stores anywhere? Baytree I don't think I've heard of that particular case, when was it and which store was it where he found all that information? It's true - you have to be wary and cautious and take necessary precautions as best you can when shopping online. There is online fraud and identity theft, but the news/what we hear about tends to focus on the bad/negative experiences, whereas there are many more times safe and positive online transactions, millions of them. Also I think the online stores, banks do as much as they can to combat fraud as they can too as it's in their interests to do so. I think the things that concern me most about internet shopping of any kind, is the damage it does to local businesses and probably, the Big Brotheryness of the whole thing ... all the data mining and consumer profiling is a bit disturbing to me really. But I think there are benefits too, especially for the artists. If I really like an artist or the music of a particular album - I'll buy a physical copy of a whole album, not a download version. I know you can often download artwork and make up your own ... but if there was a physical version that included a whole booklet with lyrics, photos, writer information and so on, then I'd sooner pay a bit more and buy that. I don't tend to buy singles as a rule though and so, when it comes to singles, I'd much rather just download the extra b-sides or videos from each version and make my own CD of them, rather than have multiple physical copies of the same song, with the b-sides on different physical CDS. There would have to be some exclusive content that couldn't be downloaded, to make me buy a physical copy; and even then I would have to be very into the artist to buy a single anyway. :blink: No wonder you didn't get to school :rolleyes: I agree, the contract issues are confusing, maybe deliberately so <_< - but there are different types of contracts that artists can have for different things, with different companies:- publishing, recording, distribution, management, the list goes on - so, it can be hard to follow and understand how it all fits together properly. I guess so long as Darius understands it all, that's the important part :P But, as far as we know Darius is still connected to 19, both in terms of a recording contract and also for Management (his Management part was with Brilliant19 - but Brilliant19 are connected to 19 anyway). So, it wasn't 19, it was Mercury Records (Universal Music), the distributors of his previous music, that Darius has parted from.

What caused what happened yesterday? I was reading over on the backup site last night and discovered something there about that green message (associated with the previous problem) that hijacked my browser, being a hacker - all I want to know more about this for, is to know whether because it seemed to take hold of my browser, can it have left anything unpleasant behind on my PC - that I need to do anything about?

I remember ages ago reading a version or except from the PopIdol/19 contract - I can't remember much about it now, other than it read to me like they owned your soul forever - scary stuff! :blink: From what I can see so far, the new chart rules are having the reverse effect. A track now has the potential to stay in the charts ad infinitum, or to return to the charts following a resurrected interest. Most of Darius's b-sides are available as downloads though, so why would they go away? I would have thought that the only reason why you might not get any Darius b-sides in the future would be if Darius or his record label decided not to include any. Whether in physical format or download only format, I think that artists and/or record labels will continue to make use of the inclusion of b-sides, bonus tracks, videos etc... as added incentives to sell their music just as they always have done, they still appear to be doing that anyway. What I'm not sure about, is what happens in regard to chart eligibility if you just download a b-side? - does it register in it's own right, or does it register as a download of the A-side of the particular single it's a b-side on? Similarly, what happens if you download an album track? Technically, I would have thought that each individual track that you download, now registers in its' own right - but I'm not sure though?

Have you seen her on here? She used to post a lot on Divas and she came and joined .net after Divas bit the dust, but didn't really get into posting regularly on there. Same as a lot of people really, there are loads of people that used to be active posters in Dariusworld that aren't now.

No, there doesn't need to be a physical release anymore Baytree. Yes, technically if you only stored 1 copy of your music on one devise and it breaks down you could lose the lot I suppose - but like with everything else that you'd be bothered about losing, you can make a back-up copy to another storeage devise, or to CDs/DVDs etc... Sometimes the artwork is also available to download, so you can create your own physical version of the CD as it would be as a physical if you want to do. You don't have to have an MP3 player either - they're mainly used for ease of portability I think. I don't think physicals are on their way out just yet (especially not albums) - but even when there are new physical releases of singles planned, the download versions still come out first and are important in their own right now in terms of sales, charts and vibe rating. Technically now, any music, new or old, has the potential to do well in the chart - so long as a track is available for download, then it's chart eligible - that applies to all existing music as well now, not just new or future releases.

I've just re-read the poll question and it says which songs do you like more?
