Some yes - having a trawl about the internet and my pc just now ;) I've not found the Kiss medley from the tour anywhere :( - wish I could! - is that one not on the list anymore though anyway now? So is it most points to your favourite and downwards then?

KT Tunstall
She's in the US promoting it at the moment isn't she? To release another album here, she'd have to be free to promote it, so I suppose it depends how well things go overseas to an extent? - it makes sense to run with something whilst the going is good I think :) I don't generally expect a quick turn around on albums for singer-songwriters, or artists who write/input creatively - though it does sound like KT has plenty of material to follow this debut with already :)

Paolo Nutini
I posted a thread about Paolo Nutini on Chc a while ago - but no one replied - I can't believe that I'm the only person who thinks this is a really talented singer-songwriter/live performer - so it must have been me that was being ignored eh? ;) :P :D - Undeterred - I'll give it another go here in this brand spanking new forum  If you've not already heard of him - I'm sure you're going to be doing very soon, in the meantime - if you want to sample some of music - you can HERE. There are some downloads also available on his official website HERE too! The first single - Last Request got it's first spin on radio on the Jo Whiley show this week - Paolo is appearing Live in Dundee at Radio 1's One Big Weekend - on the Sat, 13th - due on stage around 1:30pm - if anyone happens to be going to that - be sure to try and catch him - he's really good live :) Tons more dates/chances to see him live, listed on the MySpace too B) They will be doing a live set and interview on the Jonathan Ross show on BBC Radio2 next Saturday, between 10am and 1pm - if you want to, you should be able to listen online via their website HERE

appreciation thread
You obviously missed my post then ;) .... but yes, the vest one - One Big Sunday was it? ... was a good look ... quite a few times he's looked good in a kilt to me, but sometimes not though and I like him in other clothes most of the time too. ... Vests bring to mind the lottery fests and shaven head which I liked too B) Darius looks pretty good in most things really ... I'm rather partial to long coats I think ... the leather one PopStars; Incredible; Back of Live Twice album ... and that long grey thing he wore around the tour time/summer '03 - I liked all that camouflage stuff and that layered look too ... sorry drifting away on an off topic wardrobe memories now

Darius Song Of The Day
Yeah, that's how I interpret it too - a fantasy ;) ... based maybe on a reality of sorts ;) :D I like how you can hear the coins tinkle too B) Ooooh I love it .... Grrrrr! Where's a lion when you need one around here

Your Questions for Darius - post them in here ...
I think he'd be terrified by that offer  ;) No, lol! - I do remember someone asking him (many moons ago though) whether he reads and posts on the Darius related internet sites and he said something like ... if he was to, he'd spend all his time trying to set the record straight about this and that and get no song-writing done etc... - so he was too afraid of getting involved in it ... :D

2004 RECORDS OF THE YEAR
:o yes! ... how could bedshaped not be in there  ... think that might possibly be my favourite song of the year anyway :)

Strange
Ignored by who and in what way though? Darius picked up a gold disc in India for Dive In didn't he? - So, I know he did well there, not sure how well he did in Singapore though - can't remember - refresh my memory someone? ... when you say "nothing" Baytree - what is it you think should have been done that wasn't? Do you think that 19 have anything to do with what Brilliant 19 do or don't do, regarding Darius's career then? I agree about promotion taking time, commitment and money - but I can't see how Darius could have fitted in more than he did during the Dive In era myself though? I remember people were complaining that he was being worked too hard at the time. Also, I believe music is very cheap to buy in India, there's very little profit margin from what I've been told, so I'd guess whatever was done, was as always, done or not done with one eye on balancing the books - ultimately whatever is shelled out for promotion, comes out of Darius's pocket anyway doesn't it? I do feel that to an extent interest in Darius/his music seemed not to be capitalised upon and maintained at some points, but I don't think Darius could have done more during the Dive In era ... maybe that era should have been stretched out longer and even more time spent overseas - but Darius really did seem to need a break himself at the time though - so I don't know if more could have been done really?

It was recorded at the Kashmir Klub - but I always assumed it was the one in London though? Now that's one I have got fortunately

Do the following count in the Culture Box?
Is this the test it out - give it the yeah or ney thread then? :D What about Paolo Nutini - can he have a thread?

Is there a problem related to starting new threads for new topics?

What Darius tune are you listening to now?
There's only the Almighty & 8-Jam remixes - I don't think you could class anything else Darius has done as 'Dance' music  I wouldn't recommend any of them either myself :puke2:  ... if I had to choose, I prefer the Almighty stuff myself, but hardly ever dig out my 12" - it's just a lovely keepsake to me :) None right now .... been wading my way through piles of PI covers for a while - need to clear my head for Baytree's next batch ;) :D How about you La La .... which Darius song are you listening to? :P :D

Strange
I'm not sure what you mean exactly Baytree - 2nd time? and ignored in what way?

Darius has always spent time working on his music in the US though, even before meeting Natasha, he was out there quite a bit, working with other people, recording etc... Wherever, or however he plans to release music in the future though - he still has to do the writing and recording part, unless we do want albums and gigs full of covers, or songs he hasn't written himself - I know I don't - so I'd rather he were forcusing on the creative side for a while - build up a stock of songs that he's happy with etc ... before the next move I think. If he wants to test a few out - then that would be great! ... but if not, I can wait :) Thanks Baytree - Yes, I've had that Time of Your life since he did it just after PopIdol and Jill put it on the site - so I'll be judging that song, on that performance of it - unless there are other versions online anywhere that you think are better? From this list: It's some of the TV's & Live's - l have a problem with at the moment - I've heard everything once when it happened - but I can't remember what they were like now though, not sufficiently to rank them - I'd need to hear them again. Time of your Life - I have the live radio version from Jill's site - so that might be the same one you mean there. Teddy Bear - I think that's on Jill's site - so I might be able to listen to that again. Kiss - there's the Oran Mor and Fauldhouse versions knocking about, but I'm sure I'd prefer the Dive In tour medley versions of Kiss/hot in here/Like I Love you - I need to see if I can find clips of those from the Dive in Tour anywhere? - same with All the Small Things and all those 'Christmassy' songs - I've only ever heard them either the once, or it's so long ago, that I can't remember if I like them or not.

PI cover versions
Ah, I didn't realise you were 'combining' all the cover groups like that, I though they were just separate things - now it makes sense to me ... I think ;) :D Have to say I'm sad about I have a Dream, Let's face the Music and When a Child is born being left behind now then - I might like some of them better than ones that get through from the other groups :( but I don't know yet .... we'll see eh? :D I'm happy about those that have gone through though :D

Keane - Is it any wonder & Atlantic
a bit of punk maybe ;) :D

Bits and Pieces
Lovely photo's Meg - I remember when you got it - was a lovely pressie it was for you Is it one of these Guitar Aid one's then? ... I'd thought yours was one of Darius's own guitars, I've never heard anything about Guitar Aid before reading all this: I've never seen anything about this - has it been posted anywhere else Darius-related ever? If not, shouldn't it be? It seems a shame for it to be tucked away inside a 'bits & pieces' thread, apart from it being something interesting/Darius-related ... it's for a worthy cause - it seems more interesting than a bit or piece to me anyway. Mind you, I'm not sure what the purpose of a bits & pieces thread is anyway - I just know I was surprised to find something as interesting as this in here :P

Strange
Not really, but I would assume the single - because it was that that went to #1 there I think - it/he was very popular in India at the time, so happen they like that one the best of the included tracks still :D

Maybe it was just on Scottish TV at the time then Baytree - I know there has been quite a bit of Darius TV stuff that fans over the border didn't get to see :( - I wonder if it's on Sonnet's site? Yep that could have been it PiP - I just know that out of every Kiss performance I've seen or heard, the medley one on the Dive In tour is the one I thought was the best. Was 'Like I love you' involved in that medley section too? . I can't remember how it all ran now :( .... wish we had a Dive In tour DVD  Yes to the first question and not sure to the second - set to existing tunes, but the lyrics were completely original B) Flower of Scotland was around Feb 04 I think? .... not really part of any album era to me though - I suppose it's a sort of cover, but I don't really think of it that way, with it being a national anthem type performance  Honestly, I really can't remember it from there, not saying it wasn't, 'cos obviously it was, just that it mustn't have made much of an impression on me at Fauldhouse ... but the medley version on the Dive In tour definitely did though :D - I think the medley had more creativity/originality too. - I do however remember 'Happy Talk' at Fauldhouse and 'Brush Up Your Shakespear too! ;) ... Live Twice especially & Devil in You as well - I remember those most from Darius's set at Fauldhouse :) Having looked at your covers list though, there's a few that I can't remember well enough to rate/say whether I like them or not anyway. To do it properly, I'd need to listen to them again - so unless they're online/put online somewhere, I'll have to automatically disregard them.
-
Keane - Is it any wonder & Atlantic
Well I like Keane's previous songs - so that makes me happy anyway ... if it had been a 'someone/something else' song (too much of a departure), I mightn't have liked it then

Well I had no idea you'd apply the time so rigidly - so I guess I'm relieved, but obviously not with it due to you being ill though :( - I hope you feel better soon Baytree. With you up to this point I think - That would be Baby Can I hold You :cheer: and Whole Again then? But totally lost now though  - I suppose it will become clearer to me when it happens.
