Not sure if Steve Lillywhite's logic on that was the same as my thinking, but I understand that logic in a way, especially in the past including up to the time that Dive In was released really. If ever I've bought an album and found that I don't like the other tracks on it as much as the single that enticed me to buy it in the first place, then I feel disappointed in the album as a whole and I'm far less likely to persue an interest in the artist and buy their next album. I've liked all of Darius's singles anyway but I was delighted to find there were tracks on his album (and b-sides on his singles) that I loved even more! - that just made me love and respect Darius as an artist all the more :heart: Now though, you can listen to all of an artists tracks, or at least samples online on download stores etc... so you can get a better idea of a whole album before you buy it - not sure if that's a good or bad thing for the artists :unsure: - If I don't find that I'm really grabbed by several tracks, I tend not to buy a whole album anymore, but rather just download the single or whichever song(s) appeal to me. Just editing to say that you've brought back some memories for me Baytree ~ Gotta Know Tonight was the track I first fell in love with when we first got to hear the album tracks :wub: that and Sliding Doors :dance: were my two favourites for quite a while, plus Girl in the Moon ~ Mercury Rising was more of a grower than an instant grabber for me - but I do think it's probably the 'best' song on Dive In overall though, maybe... just listening to I'm not Buying at the moment - that's a cracking song too! - or maybe Simple Like the Truth? Oh I love Better than that too .... Ahhh Mocking Bird now - the anthem! - Oh sod it! - I could never decide in a million years - I loved the whole album and I still do :) I just think that the artist should release whatever they want to themselves

I like his new songs from what I've heard - I was particularly drawn to Angel on my shoulder too :)

Hello Cornholio :hi: Colourblind featured on a few compilation albums I think, and Darius covered Pretty Flamingo on the One Love album and Sandy on Grease, so maybe you'll be able to feature those in your new compilation forum at some point too! - have fun with your new forum (when it arrives) - you seem excited about it! :dance: Does the Darius track for the BJ compilation album have to come from his single releases then Cornholio? I know what you mean Preston, I think if all of Darius's album tracks and b-sides were included the result would be different, going off the compiled results of Leigh's last two ISS Discovery Ultimate Darius Charts, it would be either Mercury Rising or Secret Song that would be featured on a Darius fan compilation album - I'd probably go for Mercury Rising since Darius chose that as one of his own favourites as well recently. It's still difficult to choose a favourite single for me anyway though - it depends on my mood at the time which one I like best :unsure: What is the multiple choice possibility? ... is it like first and second favourite? or two equal favourites? or something else? edit - next question, how long have I got to make up my mind? :D

Do you know for a fact that Darius and/or they 'chose' to delete some people though Meg? - or are you just speculating? I'm sure Darius and/or they do know what they're doing too, it's just that I'm not sure that anyone was chosen to be deleted as such, not in the sense of it having been in relation to anything untoward on the part of any individuals I mean. I don't watch the friend count tally, going up or down, but even if there was a sudden increase of a lot and a decrease of a lot around the same time, I still feel it could just have easily been a simple case of batch adding of new friends and a batch deleting of completely unrelated already deleted by myspace accounts - y'know, just general routine batch maintenance. I'm just speculating, based on my own experience and way of operating my own account though, I've never had any problems from individual friends on my myspace myself, so have no reason to think that Darius may have done either. I hope what I've written about the s p a m m e r s won't put you off joining and setting up a page for yourself on myspace if you really want to do though Baytree :( It's something that MySpace do deal with and there are help tips and safeguards, that if followed properly, do protect you from it. If you set up a separate email address to use just for MySpace and use a password that you only use for myspace too - then even if you did get caught out, I think the worst that can happen is that you'll end up with your myspace account being taken over and either the inconvenience of sorting it out, or deleting it and creating yourself a new one. I can only speak for myself of course, but apart from just the Darius-related aspect, I've thoroughly enjoyed my myspace experiences, I've learnt lots of new skills, encountered many very interesting and lovely people, those things by far outweigh the inconvenience caused by technical faults and s p a m m e r s - given the vast number of members on there, any problems are relatively very few. I think it's a great invention

Do you mean that Virgin are charging £20 more, than what NTL were charging for whatever it is that you have? If your not happy with what you're paying for your package now and you can get the same thing from somewhere else for cheaper, why not try telling them that ... NTL often seemed to use to be willing to meet any price offer made by Sky and vice-versa, so maybe Virgin will too? I'm going to have to have a sit down and get my head around what I'm paying and for what - I've no idea whether I'm getting the best deal I can - probably not at the moment ^_^

Oh I didn't know that about the area differences - my cables were laid by Nynex, well over 10 years ago - I think it was Cable & Wireless, when I first got my TV/Telephone package, NTL took over later on. I've only ever had one telephone line fault in all that time - I guess I'm one of the lucky ones then :D NTL World Homepage has disappeared as of tonight - I find it quite sad to see it disappear really :( - having been a happy customer, I'm a Virgin, Virgin so their site looks odd to me at the moment, but I'm sure I'll get used to it and the new Virgin Media - it will be interesting to see what develops - are you not planning to stick around to find out then Meg? :D

Yes, but those things are partially due to currently inflated and highly emotive issues and people involved someway in those things in the current moment - I can't see any reason for Darius's myspace site to have been targeted in that kind of way, or why anyone would join purely to make trouble. There has been a huge problem on MySpace of peoples' accounts being phished/hijacked by chc.. to the extent that they've brought a lawsuit against one perpertrator recently. Often, previously genuine accounts have been phished and their comments and bulletins turn into spam designed to perpetuate the phishing. So, in effect, it's not the individual who created the account and is in your 'friends' that is the problem, they've just unfortunately had their account hijacked by chc.. It happened to me, but fortunately, I realised straight away that I'd fallen for a highjacking and removed the embedded codes/changed my password etc... before any comments or bulletin's had been sent out under my username. It has also happened to several people on my friends list too! - and some of those did have comments and bulletins posted in their name, that they didn't actually post themselves. So, I would advise not being hasty about deleting people for strange/unusual comments, particularly if they appear to be out of character for the individual - they may not even realise their account is being used inappropriately, so it's better to alert them to the fact that it looks like their account may have been hijacked, so they can take appropriate action themselves. Sometimes it's possible to remedy the account and for it to be reinstated, so I would also recommend not being too hasty in deleting, what appear to be 'deleted accounts' - I believe this can sometimes be a temporary measure set by MySpace, whilst they are investigating accounts for reported phishing attacks and spam, sometimes such accounts are subsequently reinstated. edit :lol: - it looks like there's a filter at work here that's trying to protecting this community from the very thing I'm talking about .... where you see the word "chc.." - I didn't type that! ... it's meant to read - s p a m m e r s .... without the spaces

The site being down wasn't anything to do with NTL. I don't know, but I've no complaints about NTL anyway. I've been a telephone/tv customer for years and had their broadband now for over 18 months and haven't had any problems with them or their services :)

I can't imagine Darius being picky and choosey about the characteristics of his fans, can you? - do you think he'd be judgemental like that? I'm more inclined to think there's been a general tidy-up of the accounts that have been deleted or suspended due to phishing, or accounts that people have closed themselves. I went into my edit friends section last week and found at least 25 deleted accounts.

Yes, I have a general love for the action/performance shots of Darius too, there were several photos from both Culzean & Lincoln that had a similar impact on me. I think the longer hair flying about or 'Wild look' helped to convey into the still shots, the energy and passion that Darius exhibits during his live performance too! I remember at the time they were all being posted, a lot of people seemed to enjoy these kinds of pictures, so you're certainly not alone Meg :dance: This year's is good too, if a bit Richard Madeley in pose :lol: and 2006's is just :wub: - but certainly for me the 'Wild Look' is definitely no reject! :lion:

I don't know - mine when up after the 'special deal' obviously, but I got a letter a short while ago saying they'd been over charging me and would sort it out - still not sure what's happened about that yet, as all I've had from them since has been about the Virgin takeover - not even looked at it yet ^_^
