Which is you least favourite Darius song?
Ok - it's probably going to be one of the 8-Jam re-mixes - I'll have to listen to them now and see which one  :D Unless the re-mixes aren't counted either? :D I like your signature banner by the way B)

Your favourite track from Live Twice is...
Why does it scare you though? :D Don't you think the lyrics are fitting? If I was a tear I'd be born in your eye I'd live on your cheek and then I would Die on your lips Take me to the place Where I don't know If my heart beats Cause the only things I hear Are the secrets that you whisper in my ear So take my words Know what my faith is Let's hide from the World With summer thoughts of twilight places Take this kiss Wrap it with your delicate love My elegant dove Take flight like love's lost lover Take me to the place Where I don't know If my heart beats Cause the only things I hear Are the secrets that you whisper in my ear If you want me Take me as I am And I'll give you Everything I have Even if all I have is my dream Take me to the place Where I don't know If my heart beats It's the only place I find A true tranquil state of mind Where the only things I hear Are the secrets that you whisper in my ear ... plus musically it's also so beautiful, tranquil, calming and peaceful - it makes me feel safe and comfortable. It's a song that I can go into quite deep relaxation and meditation to, so it's just a step beyond there really :)

I presume you're scared because I've mentioned dying and funeral music?

Dive in producer - steve lilleywhite
Sorry not read through the thread and the post isn't Darius related, but just saw the name Steve Lillywhite and thought I'd mention that he picked up the Grammy for Best Producer this year, for U2's How to Dismantle and Atomic Bomb and Jason Mraz's Mr A-Z albums.

Which is you least favourite Darius song?
Are we just talking 'proper Darius songs' as in ones that he's written, or co-written now and not covers B.P. ?

I've seen loads of lovely young ladies and men for that matter at Darius gigs, especially during the Dive In era - there have definitely been plenty around at a lot of the gigs that I've attended anyway ;) - I know what you mean though, they do look like models and it most likely was casted, but it was shot in LA - there are probably some very attractive people that go to that club there generally as well I bet too :) I've just found B.P.'s video links for YouTube and added those into the top post - are there any others that need to be found/put in there?

Your favourite track from Live Twice is...
 - Well I guess the answer to that is, that it all depends on what you think happens to you after you die - for all I know I could be dead and still listening to it ;) :D But that wasn't what I was meaning though, I meant that I'd said to Michael, I'd like it played at my funeral - which would hopefully be after I am dead of course. But then, I was thinking that it's a song that would be nice to actually die to and that if I have that opportunity, I might like to do that as well :) Really? Why are you scared B.P.? - I'm sorry If I've scared you though.

How patient are you?
Happy to wait as long as it takes :) edit: Sorry should have read it properly - I meant for his music. It's 18 months since I last saw Darius, but I don't have this sense of impatience/missing seeing him thing that some of you have. It's the music that matters to me, so I was thinking in terms of that when I voted, that's what I want most of all, I'll wait for as long as it takes for that - not much choice, other than to do that anyway ;) :D

Your favourite track from Live Twice is...
Yes, I love the guitar work on it - I call it 'exquisite' - it's got a Spanish/Arabian feel with the guitars and they way Darius sings doo-doo-doo-doo and ohh-ohh-ohh - which I really love  I love all the lyrics too and particularly, "If you want me, take me as I am, even if all I have is my dream" :) Generally it's just a song that I melt completely into - I can peacefully drift away on it :) I know this might sound macabre - but I told Michael that I want this song played at my funeral :D ... but I think I could die happily listening to this ... so, if the opportunity to do so comes about for me, then I just might well do :D

Darius Music - Downloads
It's been in the iTunes top download list somewhere or other, quite often Meg - obviously some people like it enough to buy it as a single download :) - Mo voted for it as her fave from the Live Twice era I think. I didn't like it when I first heard it, but it blarted out at me after listening to a very poignant ballad and I was shocked by the sudden loud sounds I think :o - but I've put it in with other upbeat rockier tracks,. like Love to Love; Faith in Me etc... and I quite enjoy it along with those - it's definitely not my favourite Darius track, but it's not my least favourite either now :D Why don't you like it Meg? Ooos - forgot why I came back - just wanted to add the MSN/Tiscali currents as well Kinda Love Live Twice Girl in the Moon Sliding Doors Girl in the Moon (this extra Girl in the Moon Download only shows on the Tiscali site)

Paolo Nutini
I went to get this freebie download off iTunes, but it didn't work until June the 1st - so if anyone else tried and failed - try again it's working now - it's a nice song. It actually forms part of an EP - you can get it free alone, or together with Jenny Don't be Hasty; New Shoes & Autumn if you buy the EP - I like all these tracks, so can recomment it myself - two upbeats; two ballads - Autumn being especially poignant  - well you can hear the clips, so you'll get the idea of the music styles anyway I suppose :P :D

Your favourite track from Dive In is...
Yeah, I'm still here as well - been following you around all night - I've not kept up very well though have I -you've ran a marathon - me, I just crawl about  No, I didn't mind at all - as I said, I was itching to see the results - I want to see the whole thing/spread really though - so I'm tempted to do what you've said (I didn't realised you could) - but I'm scared if I log out - they won't let me back in again ;)

Clyde 1
Strange enough for me to have had to ask why they chose that one ... didn't get an answer though :( It does make me wonder, who's decision it was and why - but on the otherhand - at least he is on their showcase - I've got very mixed feelings about it though

Not everything, but I guess I must have picked up a few things here and there from spending about 5 years stuck to my PC  :P ... I do need to find the location of the Oran Mor gig online though now + lots of other stuff too - now that it's all been moved, I'm lost for finding the links :D I like Sandy, because I loved that Darius rocked it up and I think he sings it well - but I'm not keen on the song Sandy as a rule really, but I do enjoy a listen to Darius's version of that now and then. I enjoyed Bootylicious, Faith and the Kiss-medley on the Dive In Tour live - but, I never listen to those recorded - I'm not keen on them myself either when just listening to them - they don't sound that great to me. With this Live Sessions thing though on Clyde 1 - I feel it should showcase the artist - I just don't understand why they didn't choose to feature one of his own songs - all, apart from Kiss, were his own songs at that gig!

Your favourite track from Live Twice is...
Yes, still up talking to you - I can't keep up with you though  :D - I'll have to give up trying in a few minutes :D I can believe it's winning though - 'cos you're right, it is the one I chose ;) and well, it's just a totally beautiful and very intimate 'Darius' song :)

I think that they generally stick mainly to their 'current' playlists - but they generally played Darius songs when they were out at the time I think. They might play a track as a result of a request and you can listen online via their website HERE - I'd suggest either George Bowie's Breakfast show - 6-9:00hrs; or Suzie's show usually 12-14:00hrs. They've also got Darius featured in their Live Sessions on their website HERE page 3. It's Kiss, from the gig at the Oran Mor - personally, I prefer his live acoustic versions of Colourblind and Live Twice from that gig and would rather they'd have chosen one of those. You can listen to those (that gig) on Rachel's site somewhere* - I knew where it was on the old site - not quite sure where it is on the new one though? - shall have to re-find the new links edit: *just posting to say the Oran Mor gig hasn't gone on the new site yet - don't want peeps trawling about looking for it unnecessarily.

What's your favourite b-side?
Stick it on your PC - give it a few go's mixed in with all your others and see what you think then, then :D No, I don't know exactly what it's about - in the sense that I've never heard Darius talk about what the song actually means to him/what he wrote it about. On the surface it sounds like a song written about a personal relationship, but my own personal interpretation of it, is what I said above, I relate it to how I think Darius may have felt following his experience on and resulting from PopStars and what he was hoping for from the future ... but we all place our own meanings on songs - even some songs that I know Darius has said were about somethings, I still see as having also maybe been about something else too :) I'm sure you've seen the lyrics already - but these are they :D Lost at sea Drifting wreck Ease my fear We move closer Warm breath on my neck Trace waves on your shoulder But I dreamt this before You left me on the ocean floor No call for help But baby I'm reaching Is the message in the bottle Gonna break upon your shore If I have to hold my breath And I can wait But I want more If only you knew Like a tear run dry I can taste you now A memory on my lips Well I touched you once And I know somehow I'll reach you beyond a kiss Back and forth Lapping tide Your moist breath And I'm drowning Lost you I've lost time In the ocean that found me Was it all in my mind Summers rain left behind No call for help But baby I'm reaching Is the message in the bottle Gonna break upon your shore If I have to hold my breath And I can wait But I want more If only you knew Like a tear run dry I can taste you now A memory on my lips Well I touched you once And I know somehow I'll reach you beyond a kiss I, wanna share the way That you're rushing through my veins I, wanna reach to you Let you know that I have changed Oh, if only you knew Like a tear run dry I can taste you now A memory on my lips Well I touched you once And I know somehow One of these days I'll touch you beyond a kiss Oh, oh, I can taste you now Oh, memory on my lips Well I touched you once And I know somehow I'll reach you beyond a kiss

What's your favourite b-side?
No, the 8-Jam doesn't do it for me either - I never listen to that. The Almighty re-mix is better, but that's not a favourite of mine, so I don't listen to that much either. It is a pain, listening to single CD's anyway, I don't tend to play the originals very often at all - but in the past, I taped all the tracks (apart from the re-mixes) and would listen to them that way, I'd just add on, or make new tapes as more songs were released and found that with more listens, I used to change my mind about the songs I liked best - I still do really, all depends on your own mood at the time and what you're listening for as well I think. But with them loaded on the PC now - it's much easier to listen to whatever I want, in any order I want I don't get the melancholic feeling you do from Tear Run Dry though, it's sad in someways, but the feeling of Darius's determination overrides the sadness for me :)

Which Darius Song Would You Choose
:P  - you should have been a member of The Temple of The Great One :D Hmmm, I think that most people don't realise the meanings and depth of meaning in Darius's songs either, I think a lot of them have 'gritty' meanings myself, though as he tends to do anyway, he generally puts a postive focus into them, turns the negative to a postive which maybe gives them an overall lighter feel - maybe? I've already said elsewhere that some of Darius's songs actually remind me very much of some Beatles music - so, there's maybe a window there - I wouldn't describe the Beatles as especially gritty though either. I've never been a Bob Dylan fan - I just don't like his voice/sound, but I think he's written some good songs. The Stones - again some good songs, definitely grittier generally than Darius - Darius is just gritty in a gentler way ;)

What Darius tune are you listening to now?
I've never thought of it with Kinda Love - I'll have to listen to that one again too then :D Yeah, that cassette version wasn't available everywhere even at release time either - I got lucky because Jill (SisterMother) sent one to me bless her  Girl in the Moon was quite a popular choice for a single release, amongst the members of the official site - from around the time we first heard the Dive In album tracks. I also remember that it was the song that Darius had playing in the background when some fans went down to London for a competition meet and greet - he was keen to know what people thought about it. My special memory of it was at the Dive In album Launch gig at the Trafford Centre - it really sounded good there as it resounded around the Orient - there's a 'sky at night' effect ceiling there and it just really suited the twinkling stars somehow too - it was lovely  I actually preferred that album version of Girl in the Moon to the single version that was eventually released - I wasn't keen on the echoey-tweeks, it's not that much different - but of the two I like the album version the best :) and I'd just better add (after all that waffle) that I came to post that I was listening to Girl in the Moon  I was at the time - now it's just moved on past Mercury Rising B) and I'm onto Right Girl, Wrong Time now

Which Darius Song Would You Choose
Personally I can't understand why anyone wouldn't/doesn't enjoy listening to Darius's songs - because I think they are really good - most of them anyway :D - I know what you mean though, but I hope she does like them for real - it's a lovely feeling when that happens  :)
