Reversing the perspective, virtually all the top download tracks were radio hits as well, though such million-download songs as Cupid's Chokehold by Gym Class Heroes (No. 2 download, No. 25 radio), Maroon 5's Makes Me Wonder (No. 3 and 44, respectively) and Fall Out Boy's This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race (No. 4 and 102) had less appeal for radio audiences than to paying customers. Those purchases allowed the top download tracks to outpace the top albums by a considerable margin. Just six albums sold more than 1 million in the first half of 2007, compared with 15 tracks (when different versions of songs are combined). Gwen Stefani's Sweet Escape sold 1.78 million downloads, edging the year's top album, Daughtry's self-titled debut, which sold 1.73 million copies. Other million-selling tracks included T-Pain's Buy U a Drank, Daughtry's It's Not Over,Nelly Furtado's Say It Right, Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend, Fergie's Glamorous, Carrie Underwood's Before He Cheats, Akon's Don't Matter, Timbaland's Give It to Me, Shop Boyz's Party Like a Rockstar, Mims' This Is Why I'm Hot and Rihanna's TOP 20 ALBUMS 1. And here they are: 1. Beyonce, Irreplaceable: Seven weeks at No. 1 in 2007 proper. Its lead would probably have been insurmountable had it not spent much of its early chart life in the last 10 weeks of 2006. 2. Nelly Furtado, Say It Right: A bit of a surprise, since it never hit No. 1, but it was a top 10 fixture for months. I'm not going to argue; it's my second-favorite radio hit of the year. (My fave is also in the top 10.) 3. Akon, Don't Matter: One of three songs he's on in the top 20. Six weeks at No. 1. 4. T-Pain w/Yung Joc, Buy U a Drank: Eight weeks at No. 1, the champ in that department so far this calendar year. 5. Lloyd w/Lil' Wayne, You: One week at No. 1. 6. Robin Thicke, Lost Without U: A breakthrough hit. 7. Gwen Stefani w/Akon, The Sweet Escape: No. 1 download of the year so far. 8. Justin Timberlake, What Goes Around ... : My favorite pop hit of the year. 9. Mims, This Is Why I'm Hot: Two weeks at No. 1. Don't ask me why. 10. Daughtry, It's Not Over: Top Idol on the airplay chart. Nos. 11-100 (if my energy holds out) follow. 11. Timbaland w/Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, Give It to Me 12. Fray, How to Save a Life: Hit the chart in early September, so more power to it. 13. Diddy w/Keyshia Cole, Last Night 14. Fergie w/Ludacris, Glamorous. Big Girls may ultimately beat it. 15. Carrie Underwood, Before He Cheats. Top country song on the list. 16. Akon w/Snoop Dogg, I Wanna Love You 17. Ludacris w/Mary J. Blige, Runaway Love. No. 1 for a week. 18. Omarion, Ice Box 19. John Mayer, Waiting for the World to Change. Steady airplay since September. 20. R. Kelly or Bow Wow, I'm a Flirt. Airplay for both versions combined by Nielsen BDS. 21. Ne-Yo, Because of You 22. Justin Timberlake w/T.I., My Love. Carryover from August 23. Rihanna w/Jay-Z, Umbrella. One week at No. 1, more to come. 24. Snow Patrol, Chasing Cars. On chart since August, sleeper hit that never broke top 10. 25. Gym Class Heroes, Cupid's Chokehold 26. Ciara, Like a Boy 27. Pink, U + Ur Hand 28. Ciara, Promise 29. Shop Boyz, Party Like a Rockstar 30. Pretty Ricky, On the Hotline 31. Lloyd, Get It Shawty 32. Musiq Soulchild, Buddy. Also never made top 10. 33. Rodney Atkins, Watching You. Biggest country record that didn't cross over to other formats. 34. Nickelback, Far Away. Debuted in July, so it's close to a year on the chart. 35. Bow Wow w/T-Pain & Johnta Austin, Outta My System 36. Nickelback, If Everyone Cared 37. Chris Brown w/Jay Biz, Poppin' 38. Rich Boy, Throw Some D's 39. Huey, Pop, Lock & Drop It 40. Unk, Walk It Out. 17. Mariah is an excellent writer and singer. Mariah is a smart and level-headed person. I don't understand why people consider her as" The Worst" when she can do something as miraculous as recover from a physical and exhaustion breakdown, a record label buy-out, a film flop, and a soundtrack whose sales has proven to have received little to no recognition and absolutely no promotion. She can't be that simple if she can make a come back the way she did. She hasn't been given enough credit . She has to be some sort of a genius actually just to have focused on becoming a stronger person and not letting people like the media destroy her completely. Mariah has proven to be the type of person who doesn't let anyone or anything break her down. I really admire her.

  19. http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/1087/mcvj6.jpg 29th JUNE 2007! 12/6/2007 Johnny Chisholm, founder and producer of the One Mighty Weekend events, today announced that the biggest female artist of all time, Mariah Carey, will perform a special set at One Mighty Party Paris on 29th June. Carey’s exclusive performance will celebrate the European debut of the party Chisholm made famous as an annual event at The Walt Disney World® Resort Orlando, which benefits the Elton John AIDS Foundation each year. Carey will perform six dance floor remixes taken from her catalogue of hits which have seen her achieve 17 number-one singles – more than any other female artist - selling over 160 million records world wide, become a five-time GRAMMY® award winner and earn 16 World Music Awards, exceeding any other performer. “ Mariah Carey is a worldwide musical superstar and we are thrilled to host her at our party, ” said Chisholm. “We anticipate this event will sell out quickly, so we encourage everyone to buy tickets as soon as possible to secure your place at Europe’s first One Mighty Party. ” Over the past 14 years, Chisholm’s annual One Mighty Weekend at The Walt Disney World Resort Orlando has grown to become America’s largest gay and lesbian celebration. The event also has generated sizeable contributions to its beneficiary organization, the nonprofit Elton John AIDS Foundation (www.ejaf.org). This year One Mighty Party Paris will transform The Disneyland Resort Paris at 9pm with two large dance floors in Discoveryland and Frontierland. Attractions will be open throughout the entire Disneyland Resort Paris. The Gay Days Paris event will also feature other special performances and four world-class DJs, along with a special fireworks display over the Le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant. The evening will continue with a second event, Magic Journeys, located at the Disney Pavilion in Discoveryland from 2 AM until 6 AM. Two additional world-class DJs will provide entertainment for Magic Journeys. Tickets go on sale June 13. www.onemightyweekend.com www.onemightyweekendparis.com http://www.onemightyweekend.com/mariah.pdf SOURCE: Elton John AIDS Foundation | Mariah Connection.
