Actually - he who holds on to good, Also kingly Yes, Danesh means knowledge. Just re-checked
  2. Did he say the album will be linked to a film?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p059stvq 14 days left to listen. Thanks. That gave me the chance to re-register with the BBC. My old bbc id was forgotten long ago
  4. Thanks. Mark has played Colourblind quite a few times this year. Ironic really. As a pop singer, Darius never got airplay on Radio 1. I went to see Five at the SECC. They put on a good show.
  5. This is the Darius forum We like to be different. Link to the interview. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rNnsurWWEpQ&a...eature=youtu.be
  6. The photos that the fans take are just Darius as you see him out and about. He's blessed with an almost flawless complexion and sweeping long eyelashes and something else.... I'd call it serenity, which seems to add a radiance beyond all that. The first time I saw Darius up close, the only word I could use to describe him was beautiful. He quite simply was way beyond handsome. I think professional photoshoots create the image their clients want. They treat the artists like models. Make up dulls down Darius's impact instead of enhancing his looks. Yes, Eden I'd love to see those unruly waves again. We'll have to hide Taylor Ferguson's scissors!
  7. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aryan_(disambiguation) So a strong Persian connection but not a king.. Sorry I always thought all three were called after kings.

"No regrets, just experience." Short for no blame, no beating yourself up, learn the lessons you need to, pick yourself up and start again. "Onwards and upwards!" They seem to have worked OK for Darius.
  9. Couldn't get them to work.. Like I said the tiniest snatch of vocals would have let me dismiss it instantly without posting here.
  10. Thank goodness for that, Hiss. There's also an American comedian called Darius Campbell.
  11. Weird I've just found reference to a 2015 album called Grain attributed to our Darius. Even has a little picture of him and describes him as a Scottish singer. https://www.google.co.uk/search?source=hp&a...9KLAZcsd1M3AAAA Only the track list is in here but the page did include the pic and descriptioln They definitely do not sound like believable Darius (Campbell-Danesh) ones.
  12. It's from Tartan week in New York. There's always a very tongue in cheek runway show. The other guy is his younger brother, Aria. The leather jacket one was when they dressed the pop idols as their Idol. Darius was supposed to be Bono but he thought they made him more like Arnie so he did a impression of him "Hasta la vista's, Simon! Great to see the thumb ring again anyway.
  13. Megham, what came with Laughter In the Rain and No More, please?

I like the surprise twist right at the end of some of his songs which totally change your understanding of the theme... e. g. The jingling coins and Cheers, mate at the end of Sliding Doors on Dive In Journey's End on Live Twice - you go through thinking it's a standard break up song and then right at the end you realise it's about the final parting. Death

Please do not ever apply fancy, clever effects which distort Darius's voice. The 8 Jam Colourblind did. I played it once and then again a few months later to see if I was imagining it. Never again.

Was Michael's Parkinson also a guest? On BBC I player shows are only available for a limited period.

I think she's a member here. She has/had a Darius site with a great music section. I used to nip on theire and listen to all Darius's songs rather than individual CDs. Yes, Nina is very graceful.

I think it''s better to keep this one on the front page because even a cursory glance at topic titles, indicates there will be a DvD. It's only a day or 2 since the news from Darius himself via megham.

Sorry, need to bump this thread as it is the latest Funny Girl news.

Does anyone know if Nina still has her Darius site? :D :D Predictive text replaced Nina with Ninja.

I think some of the stories behind Darius's songs are fascinating We can use the thread to comment on what we believe to be unique about any of his songs From A Songwriting perspective. Take Rushes.... pretty well known. Written when he was 16. About a girl who used to get the same bus he took to school in the West End of Glasgow. Written on bus tickets. He says he still has them. The exuberance of youth... All those rhymes in the chorus Rushes - blushes-touches. He was already exhibiting one very Darius trait..... Using words his fans needed a thesaurus or dictionary for.

Is it just me or is the text on this thread so tiny it can't be read? All other threads seem OK.

I think Darius means a good man and Danesh means knowledge. Fits him perfectly. All that bit in a recent interview about nano-technology and how he wants to bring the most innovative to Scotland, went right over my head.
