  1. I caught something on the TV last week about technological advances in road surfaces so they would help to top up while driving. Wish we still had a programme like Tomorrows World which would show us all the advanced technology. BBC has Click which is mostly limited to digital. There are so many other fields engineering, medicine, transport, space.
  2. Like I said I believe his intention is genuine and he's looking for a 6 months or so window of opportunity to do it whereas I don't think that's absolutely necessary. His fans just want him to sing his own songs. I suppose he's like everyone else with a to do list. The actionable now items keep pushing other things down it. Could any sane actor/singer have turned down a lead opposite Sheridan Smith in a musical which hadn't been performed in London for 50 years? 8 shows a week and doing the majority of the radio, TV and press promotion was contractually obligated. He'd already committed to the films beforehand.

There was a single tweet which seemed that someone had told the tweeter that Funny Girl would be coming to cinemas. If it does, don't miss it. I missed the showings of FHTE and have regretted it even although I have the DvD and a recording on my sky HD BOX. This time, if given the chance, I am determined to see Darius on the silver screen

A revival? Only weeks after I got rid of all of them all (apart from Darius of course). Typical!
  5. OK. Only 2 males from any UK reality shows who have an AF here and are still relevant, have proved their worth etc.
  6. Locked out because I'd forgotten my password and couldn't get back in because I didn't get the e-mail perhaps due the site's lengthy problem with hotmail! I got back in only on Thursday night. I've caught up with Darius and posted in other threads too.
  7. Will Young is about to appear all over the UK starring in Cabaret as the MC, a role for which he was previously nominated for an Olivier. He'll be promoting it all over the media. I thought this was a site celebrating entertainment. So why the rush to jettison the only two males from any UK reality shows who are still relevant, have proved their worth in a broad spectrum of enitertainment and are still being critically acclaimed after 15 years?

Happy Birthday.,Darius. Enjoy this very special day. Time to hang up the ruffled shirt and celebrate.
  9. That's true. He should just do it. He should just put out the twelve or so new songs we've been privileged to hear.... just as they are. His fans don't need beautiful production. His voice and his guitar are the only instruments he needs. Who has the influence to convince him though? Maybe Martine McCutcheon's new album after 17 years will show Darius it's never too late to make new music. If he's not prepared to work to make it happen in the very near future, he should stop talking about it.
  10. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise. He treated his dismissal with dignity at the time and the media bombardment and public humiliation and vilification which followed as a learning curve. But my, what a harsh lesson! What he learned probably helped him master the heights and depths of his career more easily. I was shocked when Will Young's Strictly venture revealed what a dreadful time he'd had at the very height of his success. He always seemed so assured and outgoing to me.
  11. He's no arranger. That's why his songs are acoustic or co-written.

Corrie is the one soap I record. I dip into others if there is a major cast change or storyline which grabs me. I hate the media revealing twists long before they're broadcast.
  13. It's better if you shut your eyes. Won't stop you hearing the finger clicks and final palm slapping though. He got a right old ribbing when he did Never Mind The Buzzcocks but he took it very well.

Maybe I need to brush up on mythology before watching it again. I used to read a lot of that stuff. How rude. I should have said Thank You first!
  15. Forgot my password and couldn't reset it because I never got the e-mail. Gave up trying and then miraculously last night I got in. I must have hit on the right password or my hotmail must have been recognised again. I even tried to re-register as Baytree1 with my Google account and a new password. No dice. I will stop moaning and give other forums a shot again.

I watched about 3 episodes before I gave up because I just couldn't get a grip on the concept or plot.
  17. I think you'll find there's been activity on the Darius forum. How many of the other members are locked out, like I was until last night? Quite a few Darius fans used to post in the general forums. I used to post in the lounge, politics, retro and occasionally others but it ain't much fun getting trolled all the time. Why go where one isn't welcome?
  18. Smart considering chopping forums when platinum members like me with hotmail have been locked out for months. Thanks a bunch.
  19. Wish I'd read this before resigning myself to being locked out!

Sometimes deep love and respect just aren't enough to make a marriage work even without cross continental hectic schedules.

Darius has done more Funny Girl shows than anyone, including Sheridan, and he's done most of the local media interviews etc. for the show. Natasha J Barnes also did quite a bit too both with Darius and solo.

He needs someone he can trust without reservation to channel those multi talents and lift the mundane but important background preparations, legal matters, promotion and such like off his shoulders. I'm not sure Darius even has an agent now. Is he still with Conway Van Gelder?

It's the scene where Nick decides to go with the bond scheme which gets him jailed. The CD only includes It's my neck bit. Didn't Darius sing his lines to a snatch of Don't Rain on my Parade at that bit, or am I mistaken?
