At last I can understand why Darius is able to commit to the tour now, when he couldn't before. We know he had plans in the US but circumstances have changed. With his new role, he's committed to being in the UK for some time. Presumably, his new producers and director are willing to work around hs tour commitments. I'm so glad Darius is touring. It's been a long time since the History of the Big Bands and even longer since Guys and Dolls. I hope fans won't be miffed that they decided not to buy tickets months ago because Darius said he wasn't doing it and think he's mucked them about. Me, I don't care if I'm up in 'the Gods' at the Kings so long as I can see Darius and Natasha, for the first time. I'll just be posh and use my opera glasses! Funny Girl must be one of the few touring productions to have bona fide West End stars in the lead at every venue.

This seems to definitely be on. http://www.goldpix.co/media/1406701265748446204_4223319878 Reconstructing Jack is listed on IMDB now but as it's still in development, further info is only available to those with Pro access. So, Darius as Jack the Ripper. Apparently he was cast in early December. Outdoor scenes will be filmed as close to the historical locations as possible - The director and others have just been in London scouting locations. The pilot is ready to be filmed.

Unfortunately I can't remember what my BBC ID is . I don't know if the site will let me re-register. I'll try later on.

Thanks Eden. Getting back together did look likely after those photos in August. Still married? I wonder if the rep got that right. I can't quite get my head around that.
  8. The Daily Mail had the Sun's story today, which they've now updated with a confirmation from Darius that he and Natasha are back together. A spokesperson says that they are still married because despite their separation, they didn't file the final paperwork.
  9. https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/19403...lys-daisy-lowe/ Some theatre date! Makes you wonder if the headline writers actually read the story and realised that Darius was on the stage. Darius and Natasha still make a lovely couple, whether they are or not.

I have now seen Imperium. It's thought provoking and Daniel Radcliffe is very good. I have to say I agree that the ending is a bit disappointing, an anti-climax but otherwise, it's a good to very good story based on true events. I think they did well not to sensationalise it but keep it fairly restrained.

Thanks, megham. I feel gutted for fans who won't get a chance to see Darius in Funny Girl. I really thought they'd have filmed it for a Dvd/Bluray for Christmas. Does anyone know anything about Darius's planned projects? Will he have to be mainly in the USA? I can't see Darius ever giving up live performances. He has cemented his reputation as a West End leading man. I bet there will be another role which he won't be able to refuse Right now, though, he's got his foot in the production door and it must be really challenging and exciting for him. I wish him all the very best. The show CDs are great but it's never too late for the long awaited Darius album.

Mistake. Didn't open it but had a premiere at the festival. Daniel got the Hollywood rising star award.

Me too. You really get caught up in the characters and their joys and heartbreak. Because the set and costume changes are so slick in this production, you can be laughing one minute and in tears the next, almost instantaneously. If Darius can fit in a few legs of the tour, I'd try to get to one even if I had to travel. Without Darius I might book Glasgow. Depends who's on instead of Sheridan.

It's good to see more positive comments. Did you know Imperium was chosen to open the American Film Festival in Deauville, France too?
  15. According to the Sun's exclusive with Darius today, he and Daisy are no longer dating but remain friends. Seems they've been friends for a long time. He also says that he and Natasha tried to reconcile last year but it was too soon. Guess that explains the LA pictures from April to July last year.

Two film projects lined up. I guess if they are Hollywood ones too, we're not going to see much of Darius when Funny Girl closes. Keeping my fingers crossed for a DVD of Funny Girl. It would be some consolation.

CD review. http://oughttobeclowns.blogspot.co.uk/2016...-cast.html#more Bit odd review comparing show and CD. More Darius? I'd agree with that any time. However, to be fair, this production of Funny Girl HAS beefed up Nick's role. I really don't see what else could have sensibly been added.

Poor Darius. I just hope he's sensible and doesn't risk more serious damage by carrying on regardless. Did I post this review before? http://sharmanprince.blogspot.co.uk/2016/0...ndon-28716.html

Re Funny Girl London Cast recording, I think it showcases all of the cast and the show really well. I still can''t get into Rat-a-tat -tat. The routine seemed interminable in the show. I skip that track every time. I like how they've included some lines (and Joel's fabulous tap dancing)... the contrast between D's "It's my neck!" and the onstage "What Do Happy People Do?" highlights the gulf between Fanny's life on and off stage. I like all of Sheridan's songs. Though I do wonder why The Music That Makes Me Dance is so quick. Who Are You Now is my favourite track but I often catch myself humming or singing snatches of nearly all the songs from the show.

I admit that I'm disappointed that Darius isn't doing a few legs of the tour, enough for at least a geographical spread for his fans who can't travel to London. At least we've got the CD and I'm still hopeful the show might be filmed before it closes in the West End. Darius will have spent almost a year in what seems to be a close, exuberant and talented company, playing yet another iconic role which he couldn't refuse. He's played Nick opposite three leading ladies - Sheridan, Natasha and Claire Rickard. He's made his mark There isn't much opportunity to develop Nick any more. It's such an underwritten role. If there was, maybe another year on tour would be well spent. On balance, the end of the Savoy run is probably the right time to pass the baton or in this case, the ruffled shirt, on. Two things have always motivated Darius - new challenges and working with some of the best people in the business. In addition, he's always been keen to learn the technical aspects as well as the creative ones, so I can understand the attraction of film production for him.

Darius did both shows today but there have been quite a few tweets over the past couple of days commiserating with him being unwell and wishing him a speedy recovery. His understudy, Matthew Goodgame, tweeted a few days ago that he was doing a vocal call with the musical director and was going to have fun. As Nick Arnstein. Run on Tuesday. I thought it was one of Darius's scheduled breaks. Hope it is and he'll be well enough to enjoy it.

I remember that. Neat way to let the audience know Fanny's pregnant, before the scene with the pram. Maybe, it is that scene. I can see Darius and Sheridan as he sings that, but for the life of me, I can't recall what went immediately before or after it.
