  1. That was a joke but now? ......I don't know. They really are looking for a new Milk Tray man! I don't think I've seen this video of Darius talking about the Breast Care Charity https://vimeo.com/111670294

This playbill article gives more information about the creative team. http://m.playbill.com/news/article/full-ca...-factory-367438 I think I'm right in saying this is the first show where Darius has never worked with any member of the cast or creative team before.

Just noticed in this article it says EXTRA performances. I wonder if those tickets have already been sold http://www.musicaltheatrenews.com/funny-girl.html

New broad way world article. They've remembered Gone With The Wind and Guys and Dolls and they've also listed Carmen http://www.broadwayworld.com/westend/artic...Y-GIRL-20151016

When D's participation becomes common knowledge, we should at least be spared the sniping about celebrity casting or the more ludicrous GWTW claim that he was the only one who wanted the part. This time the run was sold out on 17th August. The producers and director could have selected any musical theatre baritone in the world or even any actor who can string a few notes together for Nicky's 2 duets. There's no doubt either that many people would want to work alongside. Sheridan Smith in any part just now. They chose Darius - enough said.

Interesting article about the proposed Funny Girl revival on Broadway which didn't happen. Interesting because it speaks of some of the requirements for the role of Nicky and says that for Broadway extra1scenes would expand on the breakdown of the marriage. http://m.playbill.com/news/article/bobby-c...-revival-182594
  8. I began to doubt the new scenes bit but I've found the article which mentions them again. http://www.blouinartinfo.com/news/story/12...-girl-in-london
  9. As far as I remember, Nicky does not even have one solo song. You are woman, I am man, is about the most he sings. The showstopper will have to wait for another show. Nevertheless, I think it's a good show for him to be part of - the first production of Funny Girl in London since the original one closed almost 50 years ago..
  10. They're making changes to the book. Harvey Fierstein is freshening it up and adding some scenes. That being so, it's a good idea to do it off West. End at first.

Thank goodness we know now. We might not be able to go to the show but at least Darius will be in the UK until March. Once the show settles, he might be able to fit in other things, hopefully.
  12. They are Sf. Good job Booth wasn't the GP - there'd have been an unexplicable rise in hypochondria in the West of Scotland. Now where have I heard THAT before, Darius? Can't see the good intention coming to anything if he IS doing Nicky until March. OT Robert Lonsdale is in the brand new comedy show on E4 and he's making his debut at the Royal Court, in November I think. Jill Paice's understudy with whom people were very impressed (Savannah Stevenson) is taking over as Glinda in Wicked..
  13. Still no official word either way but anyway take a look at the picture of young Booth in this article! http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/entertainment...parents-4638244
  14. Oops double post. It runs from 20th November to 5th March at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Tickets may still be available with hotel packages.
  15. Looks like it might be true or quite by happenstance Sheridan Smith is now following Darius on twitter.
  16. Latest rumour is that Darius is to play Nicky (Omar Sharif's role) in Funny Girl with Sheridan Smith. The cast will be revealed on Monday. The role would suit him but isn't Sheridan Smith really petite? If he is Nicky, great for him but more problematic for us. The whole run is already sold out.
  17. If it's a hung parliament, the others will be courted . Tories may be able to count on their usual allies from Northern Ireland, Lib Dem and UKIP and Labour on other NI parties, Plaid, SNP, Greens, Lib Dems and maybe Respect. It's all down to arithmetic and of course, Events. Who could have forseen the "bigoted woman"blow to GB last GE or the meteoric rise of Nick Clegg? Personally I think that the electorate will not swallow the Tory/Labour line that a vote for any other party will let their rival win a majority.
  18. Voted Michelle , Kavana (dead heat with Cami Li), Alicia & Calum.
  19. Of course I wish the show well but personally would prefer Darius to take up a new challenge. I don't see what is to gain from 'Marking Time' for another 6 months plus doing the same thing. I wonder if he's still in LA. He apparently flew over on the 9th.
  20. Apart from Perez, the men are bland, bland, bland , keeping their heads below the parapet. None of them seems able to cope with strong minded women. Perez is puerile and irritating. People say the others would come to the fore if he was evicted. I very much doubt that. I don't really care who wins this time. No one has caught my interest. Launch night looked promising but it's been downhill all the way. Thank goodness for Emma Willis and even Rylan!

That's the first time I've heard mention of I'm Coming With You. I'd like a CD with the missing songs as a bonus but it's probably not feasible now the cast has broken up. Edit: oops misunderstood your last post ...you were referring to the scene not a song. However, I'd still like Sure, From Here To Eternity etc .
  22. It's certainly doing the rounds worldwide. You'd need a degree in geography to keep up now. So many almost unpronounceable names. Was much cut to get a reasonable US rating? I've seen the Dvd rated 18 on some foreign sites. When you think of what we see on TV even before the watershed, FHTE is innocuous!

It's just great to have an official CD and the bonus of a Dvd of SOMETHING Darius has done...at last! The bits I wasn't keen on were the death dream sequence, the people in the background of More Than America and Something In Return, in which the leads' contributions were well sung and logical but then spoilt by the entrance of hula dancers and boxers, ending with the two female leads in the foreground of a parade of G Company taken by Warden and Captain Holmes. Why? Escapes me! I always fast forward after Ryan sings "I only wanted something in return."
  24. Good to see it in many formats although, personally, I will never download if physical formats are available. I h

Do you know whether the whole score has been recorded in the studio or will the non singles be as live from the filming, megham?
