After From Here To Eternity
I'm glad he's not done too many covers bar the big band stuff for the tour , each song being researched and played and sung exactly as per the original manuscripts. I find that when Darius covers something, it leaves me dissatisfied with other versions I might have liked a lot before I heard him sing it. The latest example is Falling Slowly. I was on youtube playing some of the FHTE songs and falling slowly came up on the options from the London musical. That led to the original writers' version, the film one and a couple of others. Good though they were, I just wasn't similarly moved by any of them.

England's relationship with an independent Scotland
It's not an option in this referendum. They COULD hold one later and agree to re-enter the rUK BUT why would islanders vote for their island to have reduced maritime territory because it would be an enclave and only entitled to the usual 12 miles, within which there are no oil or gas fields ?

At least we don't have to interpret reams of small print and legalese and then negotiate. Maybe being in the loop (noose) isn't that great either. Edit- I meant to say there's a short video of red carpet interviews at the Opera Awards. Darius is in it but I think he only talked about the awards being a good thing - that's paraphrased of course. I'll try to find and post the link later.

There are quite a few fhte songs on youtube now. I like Love Me Forever Today the single but I won't buy it. I'll definitely be buying several copies of the castCD but ONLY if it is a hard copy. I don't download - not even Darius!

Patience is a virtue and with the weight of waiting D fans have had to bear, we should have a diploma if not a master's in it!

After From Here To Eternity
I'm afraid that the 3rd album is what it is. There definitely must be some big band influence because Stuart drafted in the Hot City Horns for some songs. I just hope there's some real Darius in there too, something upbeat or a ballad or two like the b sides. I'd prefer him to tour with a group perhaps augmented with a couple of brass players. Wouldn't it be great if Karl and Spence could join him. Darius has a great speaking voice. I'm surprised he hasn't been asked to do narration or voiceover work b efore.

Apparently Darius caught up with Brian Hill yesterday and they talked about about various ideas for working together . Hey I'm an optimist I'm counting that as a sign that Darius intends to deliver a 2014 tour of some kind. Isn't Darius supposed to be taking a break just now?

Thanks for the details, Polly. True to form, I'm caught up in a big family gettogether in Northern Ireland that weekend. I know that the listings regularly change over on Thursdays, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the date won't slip and I can get to see it on the 3rd and maybe squeeze in another showing when I get back from NI.

Have we seen this review? I can't see it in the review thread or in this one. http://johnbowlesonline.com/2014/02/09/lov...re-to-eternity/

After From Here To Eternity
I can't think of any current reality show, not even Strictly, which could distract Darius from the album. That said, I get the feeling that the album is not what he was talking about in the video. Surely he would have been able to make a general statement of intent about it (and the tour) without giving away any confidential info. After all, Robert Lonsdale was able to say he'd got a lead role in a new British TV series long before details were announced and his name was added to the cast list. I don't imagine that Darius would want to jump into another musical in the West End or a touring production just yet. However, I think he would, if he was offered one on Broadway or elsewhere in North America. I also keep thinking back to the coincidental timing of a tweet about Darius getting a lead film role and him taking a phone call IN THE This Morning STUDIO that very day - the day he and Robert sang live. The tweet has never been taken down but the link in it doesn't work. Maybe someone let the cat out of the bag too soon or maybe he/she got it wrong. I rather hope it's the former, even although he'd have to go back to America for a while and the album timetable would slip again. I'm sure Darius would love to add a film to his acting experience. Whatever he's up to, we should know soon. OT Natasha has a recurring role in a new ABC comedy pilot with Karen Gillan who was in Doctor Who and is now doing well in Hollywood too. I hope it gets picked up in May Looking forward to Robert in The Interceptors on BBC1. Sounds good.

Supposing this is true and the Darius goes to Hollywood one is also true and thus he is leaving when his contract ends in April, wouldn't it be more honest to do the show for this promotion with the cast which is likely to continue?

I hope Darius is taking a break. It's not his habit when he's working. I suspect he may have to return to California for the court's final judgement on his divorce. It's been 6 months since the papers were filed.

Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
He's a family man and does the blockbusters like the Ocean 11/12/13 and animation voiceovers to bring in the bacon but creatively, he prefers to do independent films whose stories impassion him, even if he has to raise the funds to produce them himself . A lot of them are Latin American based. He also has a reputation for encouraging new actors and giving them a break in his films.

Correction of earlier post - William Hurt will play Gregg Allman in a biopic.

Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
Darius looks a lot like him in The Godfather III photos. However, Andy Garcia is only 5ft 10. I shouldn't imagine any casting director would cast someone so much taller.

Just caught up with it. Robert's and Darius' voices harmonise so well. But even now you can't take the pop singer out of D... he looked like he was fighting the urge to take the mike off the stand and do a "Rushes."

Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
Congratulations, megham.! Anyone else see a tweet today saying that Darius Campbell takes lead in the Andy Garcia story. Garcia writing and directing for Fox Searchlight (films). I'd so like that to be true but I can't find any other reference. A later tweet from the same source is true-that Gregg Allman is to star in a biopic.

I'm just amazed at Darius's stamina - 8 shows a week and he's partying mid -week! Good for him. All work and no play etc. Papa Campbell's motto still rules!

Darius really is game for anything. FHTE have tweeted a great instagram pic of Darius hula-hooping with multiple hoops when the group of majorettes broke the Guiness World record at the Shaftesbury. Aah - those hips! Still mesmerising.

because it's a podcast? OR perhaps because children have easy access to facebook and some of the themes Darius was speaking about and the straight up language he used, would not be suitable for them I really think that the producer who's doing the marketing, Mr L Menzies is missing a trick when any of FHTE's cast or creatives take to the airwaves. The interviewee should be armed with a CD of some of the music. If Fight The Fight HAS been recorded as a single by Robert Lonsdale, why isn't it getting out there for people to hear?

I love that Darius knows who he is and what he believes in and isn't afraid to say so. Even immersion for over 8 years in LaLa land where comformity is the norm, has not changed that one iota.

Robert Lonsdale's interview is also up on Broadway world. Nice long interview with Darius - http://www.964eagle.co.uk/podcastdirectory/curtaincall.php

Thanks. I won't bother struggling with BBC iplayer then. I did my usual - signed up and then forgot my details, so it won't let me in . Sometimes I can get things via my mobile and sometimes not. It's hit and miss.

Drat, missed it! Darius and Robert were on Elaine Page's BBC2 radio show today.
