Is that THE beach scene being rehearsed? Now they're in the theatre, presumably the set will soon be ready, whatever it may consist of.
  2. Indeed! Who's to say Darius wasn't letting his hair down at that posh party in Florence a week ago? They're separated.
  3. Thanks, Susan. I love that smile. We don't see it often enough.

Margaret Thatcher's first term as PM was a disaster. Heseltine stemmed the tide of dissent in Liverpool in 1981 but the tide only turned in 1982 when the Junta in Argentina decided to invade the Falklands. Without that intervention, she would have been a footnote in British political history - the first female PM. If she had gone then maybe females would have a better chance of being PM today!

This spoof of Colourblind made me laugh. The homages to the real video, in particular.

Apparently Darius did the voiceover for the non-com blog. I admit I didn't recognise his voice but it is deeper and more exaggerated, as the newsreels etc. were way back then. Nice picture of the two First Sergeants. I like what I've seen and heard so far of Tamara Harvey. I like Darius too, but you probably never guessed that.

Eden, I posted this in the bits and pieces thread on the 11th August. Tickets were still available then. "This must be the thing in Scotland that montygirl tweeted about. Beacon Arts tweeted that Darius, Keith Jack, Scott Davies and the Opera Ghosts will be performing at their Royal gala on Friday 16th August. Booking office - 01475 723723 Beacon Arts is in Greenock, AFAIK. Trust me! I'm heading in the wrong direction.........I'll be in Edinburgh Friday and Saturday with family from Northern Ireland. " You'll notice I posted the info about the Prince and Princess of Wales 30th Anniversary concert on Sunday 27th October in its own thread. I don't know what is for the best for things with short notice. The problem with an individual thread is that if no-one else posts in the thread, it drops down, whereas the bits and pieces one tends to be very near the top.

Funny answer. I'm sure I read somewhere about someone/a company working on projection for the show. I'd think that will be part of the answer to both the beach scene and the attack on Pearl Harbour.

That '#Aloha Eternity' sign is awful. Big is not always beautiful!
  11. According to twitter, on Friday Darius a) looked like James Bond b) was awesome He did an interview with Inverclyde radio in the afternoon. None of the interviews from Friday are up on their site ....yet.
  12. Found it. ticket info at the end of the article. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/campaigns/br...33430n.21876330
  13. The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice 30th Anniversary Variety Performance Scots singing sensation Susan Boyle will feature along with West End musical star, Darius Campbell at the special show. Comedian Karen Dunbar has also confirmed alongside television presenter Carol Smillie. Sounds as if it's definite. I'll try to post a link to the story. If not, I'll type in the details later.
  14. It's always the special days which hurt the most after break-ups or worse. I think the rehearsals for FHTE are quite intense. By last night 3 members of the cast had tweeted that rehearsals were taking their toll and they were spent. Still they really seem to enjoy it. I hope Darius can spend time celebrating HIS birthday with his family and friends this weekend and doesn't need to rush straight back to London..
  15. I spent some time on youtube listening to the ALW stuff and unless my ears deceive me, heroes and villains seem to be tenors. It's D's choice - sing something in his strongest register and lose the ringing top notes people expect when a tenor delivers the song or sing up his range without the power a tenor could deliver. Not all ALW songs are belters and some of the more emotional ones would be suitable for the latter treatment. One I'd like to hear Darius sing as baritone is Love Changes Everything. There's a baritone version online from an American singer and it sounds fantastic. Given his circumstances just now, it's maybe not one he'd choose. Would he take a third more daring approach and do a "Sandy" with an ALW song? Apparently ALW cut Il Divo out of one of the TV programmes to celebrate ALW's career because they muddled the lyrics of one of his songs. Anyway, it's up to Darius to make the judgement and help to launch Beacon Arts, with all the future hopes and dreams of those who will use it, in style. BTW I was delighted to see Peter Morrison on the poster. He's a living legend, one of Scotland's top tenors who dominated traditional Scottish music for many decades.
  16. Ok. I give up. What has ALW ever written for baritones, apart from the Elvis influenced Pharaoh's song from Joseph?

The first rehearsal video blog is up - It's of week one, entitled Soldiers. It's very well done. No Darius though - he was still in LA then.
  18. The Italian words here and there were the verses and chorus of a Neapolitan song Tu Vao 'Fa L'Americano which means something like You wanna be an American and so there are English words every so often in the Italian song. So I'd say it was the other way round - Tu vuo etc with a bit of Mr Saxobeat thrown into the mash-up.
  19. Interesting that the poster, posted on archive and news, says that the evening will feature West End soloists singing ALW songs. I wonder what Darius will choose/be given. I don't recall him ever singing an ALW song.
  20. Maybe not then. Inverclyde Radio's facebook page. Looks like they put any info about interviews etc on there. Might be worth keeping an eye on it. https://www.facebook.com/InverclydeRadio
  21. Ignore that siren call, spamfritter. Canadian weddings are FUN - my son was married in Canada. The celebrations went on all weekend. Hope you have a wonderful time. I wonder if Darius will have time to pop in and see Taylor and get him to work his magic on what's left of his hair. It seems really short in those pics from the training.

I think it's an American expression meaning doing exceptionally well. I remember looking it up a while ago when it cropped up in a review or something about Darius at Vibrato's.

I guess so, considering that Darius wasn't involved in all the boxing etc. the other guys had been doing the previous week in their workshop. There's a tweet from Warren Sollars today saying the guys were killing boot camp for the BBC filming. No indication what for.
