  1. That would be great if it happened, but we know the UK media. Don't look into his eyes or stand too close to him at the stage door or YOU may be splashed over the mags as his new girlfriend, girls. It's ironic that part of Warden's dialogue is a conversation about divorce.
  2. I see the bookies have added Darius Danesh as a joke outsider to replace Sacha Baron Cohen on the biopic about Freddie Mercury. IMHO the filmmakers could do far worse than choose Darius............. his height would be a problem but otherwise, I'd think Darius could make a very good fist of Freddie Mercury - he's got a great vocal range, he's charismatic, he can act and he's of Persian descent too. Oh and he can grow a fine moustache very quickly.
  3. Aw I do think they loved each other deeply, maybe still do, despite the rows.
  4. California divorce law entitles both spouses to half the value of any community property & income acquired during the marriage, unless there is a pre-nuptial agreement. Re rehearsals for FHTE, I found an article which said rehearsals began on 22nd July! I don't think any so far involve the non-soldier elements of the cast. It seems to be about boxing and bugle playing etc i.e skills which will need to be acquired before they start working on the book and the production.
  5. You didn't know what? That she married Damien Chapa twice, and added together they were not as long as her marriage to Darius to date?
  6. Re the love handles, pip, Warden is a hardened soldier with two purple hearts BUT as First Sergeant he's practically running the company, in the frequent absence of his superior officer. That means lots of paperwork, so he may not be in tip top condition. He's not a sportsman and doesn't do drills and training with the men. Maybe it would be more authentic for Darius not to be too toned. Anyway, I think he's got more important things on his mind just now and press night isn't until 23rd October. I hope Natasha will divorce him and let it be and not attempt to do what she did before. Divorce, re-marry the same guy and divorce again! She was the one who came running back to HIM in 2010 as soon as the papers showed him at a charity ball with his new girlfriend and maybe she'd seen Jacqui back with Darius at Popstars To Operastars and at another occasion. By April she was back with Darius in Paris but he was still involved in the UK with Carmen. By June she was strolling with him down the streets in LA, wearing his ring again.
  7. I suspect the divorce was filed in her name because she is a landed immigrant of twenty years or so residenceand she is the mother of two American citizens. I don't know what Darius's immigration status is in the US. He's married to a Canadian not an American.
  8. Most of us know Darius has sacrificed his career time after time for hers, so as not to disrupt HER sons' schooling and routine while she's filming out of town. Her filming takes several weeks at a time. If Darius is going to progress his MT career, he cannot do it by taking short runs or a few legs of a tour to fit the domestic schedule. He is far better than that and he SHOULD be originating roles, with all of the commitment that entails. The same applies to the album, he'd need to commit a minimum of six months to promote and release it and then further time to tour it. Why didnt he take up the offer of the role of Emile in South Pacific when it was offered to him when the show was about to be revived in the WE? He was perfect for it and he has a great baritone voice. I guess I'll just have to speculate.

If he's signed for 6 months, as is usual for the leads of new musicals, that would take him to end of April. I was just hoping he'd manage to get some of his own music out before then. Maybe he'll manage to fit in a gig or two on Sundays, if his contract permits it.
  10. She's actually quite nice to talk to as a person but I don't rate her as a politician. Nae guts to stand up to Westminster, although she's supposed to be the leader of the Scottish Labour Party including Scottish Labour MPs.

NEXT Spring, according to WENN! http://blog.wenn.com/all-news/darius-campb...marriage-split/
  12. Apparently they took a mutual decision to file for divorce. No reasons given. I'm so sad for them.

Penguin Classics are issuing the book on 29th August - cost to be £9-99 according to this. http://www.thebookseller.com/news/james-jo...ue-penguin.html I got the GWTW one so I'll probably buy one of these too.
  14. I know exactly who he is - the most obnoxious and boorish Labour MP in the HOC. I won't say his name because I won't waste my breath on him. I also have the dubious privilege of being represented at Holyrood by wee Johann! At least my four councillors all do a decent job with one Labour guy deserving of a personal vote.

On stage without any make up trickery Darius has completely convinced me in all of his MT roles that he WAS the older character he was playing. He had only a longer hairstyle, his own moustache and a bit of grey on his hair for Rhett in his mid forties. The rest was down to his acting ability.
  16. It is so frustrating. Everyone else seems to have their best chances come along one at a time and that creates career momentum but for Darius, it's feast or famine and he has to sacrifice fantastic opportunities he's been working towards for even better ones which just come out of the blue. I really feel for Darius that these dream jobs sometimes do not turn out well and he's then back at square one. Gone With The Wind and Beauty and The Beast are two glaring examples - he lost film roles for the former and Broadway for the latter. Now that he's moved back up the board as a co-film producer with an acting role and an album ready for release, bang!.....along comes From Here To Eternity. Surely by the law of averages, the dice have to fall in his favour some time. Maybe once FHTE is locked down and the press night is over, things will change re Darius's site and album. Other MT stars seem to be able to bang out albums by the dozen, whether they're in current shows or not.

A long interview with Sir Tim from early April. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p017c7hs I like James Fox's version of Fight The Fight more than Robert Lonsdale's, even though it's a tiny clip.
  18. I haven't seen this clip before

He's got the wrong stripes. They're just sergeant's stripes, not FIRST Sergeant ones. Maybe the costume department will manage to promote him before the previews start!

Welcome back , Carolina. I think most of us who post here are pretty much dyed in the wool fans from way back. We've ridden the roller coaster for a long long time. I've tried to get excited about other voices but I'm only kidding myself. I keep coming back to Darius because I quite simply love his voice.

I don't think many big WE shows hold truly open auditions. The only show I know is holding open auditions is the forthcoming Happy Days. I'm glad they did, but at first I couldn't see why the creative team would have thought to audition Darius. GWTW was 5 years ago - 5, can you believe that? - and Darius was only very briefly back at the Garrick 18 months ago as Billy Flynn, a character who's not complex for a half decent actor to play, so doesn't showcase very much of D's talent. We know he can do cynical lover and take his character through a huge range of emotions but the interesting thing for me in this particular role is, where does a gentle soul like Darius find the toughness for Warden? He's younger than the other actors who've played the role. That has never seemed to be a problem for him. His 'matinee idol' looks are probably a disadvantage for him as Warden. Burt Lancaster was a tough actor because he WAS tough. He'd worked his way through the school of life. He was a one-off. William Devane also has a lived in, rugged face. Darius has a smooth complexion and those long eyelashes. Edit - Did they grey Darius's hair at the sides on the photo shoot or is it just the shine off his hair?

Apparently the photos etc have gone up at the Shaftesbury now. Just realised that David White was the musical director on GWTW as well. I wonder if he suggested they audition Darius, like Gareth Valentine from Chicago did for GWTW.
