I think the cast looks great. Ruth makes a lovely princess and Chris Egan looks far more princely than any of the princes in Once Upon a Time. I wish we could have heard some of the dialogue to give some indication of the quality of the writing. Sadly, once a cast is broken up and everyone moves on to other projects, it's almost impossible to put it together again. I suppose it could still turn up as a one hour drama to fill a gap in the schedules, sometime in the future. As for a Scottish beast, I guess I'll have to settle for the excellent Robert Carlyle as the loathesome Rumplestilstkin and unsettling Mr Gold in OUAT. I'd have preferred to see Darius in BatB. C'est la vie!

Even if he did decide to do it at the next cast change, it is not his place to say so, before the official cast list is announced. The same goes for acting auditions. Anything really that concerns contracts. It quite simply isn't the done thing to talk about them.
  14. Unless they want huge gaps at Hampden, there WILL have to be freebies. They'll have to hand the tickets out in the city centre or at the gates at this rate or bus the VIPs in from other parts of the UK. Scots don't mind paying a fair price but they won't let corporations rip them off. LOCOG already got its fingers burnt when it tried to railroad the Hampden Park board to replace the Saltire with the Union Flag. The saltire WILL fly over the Olympic games played there. The people of London seem to have been treated abominably. When you think of all the bold promises that were made during preparations for the bid.
  15. There is a list online of the Olympic torchbearers but it only includes the members of the public who were selected to carry it. It doesn't include any of the sportspeople or celebrities. Producer Al is I believe a member of the Morning Crew on Radio 58FM in Dublin. It's quite possible that he would be involved. I really do not see the point of randomly referring to Darius if he wasn't there. It's quite bizarre. He hasn't exactly been a regular visitor to ROI. His links are with Northern Ireland. I don't think I'd like to be in Darius's shoes just now, deciding which path to take ........album, Broadway, acting....... maybe he'll surprise us all by not doing any of them and doing something totally unexpected like, who knows? - Gilbert and Sullivan? a one man show (in Edinburgh)?
  16. Thanks, megham. I wasn't able to find any list of the 41 torchbearers nor any other mention of Darius. The torch is coming to Scotland and is supposed to pass through Bearsden. If Darius was going to do it, surely that's where he would or in some other location in Glasgow?
  17. Anyone else see this tweet? jonjon ‏@jonby2 Big up @ProducerAl who's passing the Olympic torch to @DariusOfficial outside the front door of Ann Summers at 1pm today...best of luck lads Posted 6h ago. Is this for real? Is Darius back then? I thought the torch was in Dublin today. and there's a wee mention here harking back to the love in the room quote http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/edwest/1...ent-traditions/

Thanks, megham. It's good to know it's still on the table. I wasn't sure how many cast changes there have been in NY this year.

Zafra Jaffrey(not sure if the name is exactly right) from Smash has started his run in the West End. I think we'll find HE will be the next BF on Broadway. He's better known to US audiences and Smash is a major success and has been renewed for a second series on TV. It's likely to win some of the major TV Awards.

We knew it was basically whether they'd choose one or two from Gotham, BatB and 666 Park Avenue. Unfortunately, they only wanted one and 666 Park Avenue was always going to be it, with its famous cast. I wonder about that "not yet". Perhaps there was a slight hint at the upfront that they might go for it later, maybe mid-season. Edit :- Probably just an aside from ATV today though, as ABC are holding three of the new dramas until mid-season i.e next May. Next!

Max Brown was added to the cast of CW's BatB on 13th March. One site I found today said that ABC hadn't decided yet about BatB. that may or may not be true. I must say I don't understand the American mentality if a decision was made to scrap BatB last week and a composer was asked to score it nevertheless, (provided that the report about the composer was not an old one too).

Another thing that could work against BatB is that another network (cable, I think) wants to commission a new series of Jericho. Steinberg might be tempted to jump ship mid-series if that came off, even if BatB went to series. He's the sole writer of BatB. Obviously he'd need a team for a series, but could they do it with out him at the helm?
  25. Darius has enjoyed mixing it up and using his skills in so many ways, and doing it very well, so he's never going to please those fans who've tucked him into one labelled box of entertainment and want him to concentrate on that exclusively. He won't, not yet, he's having too much fun. Why should he? He's still pushing the envelope in both music and acting. He hasn't found the limit of his abilities yet. Why should he go back and do something he's done before, unless there's something new and interesting to learn along the way or some personal attraction to a particular project? Money has never motivated him. He's done OK, doing it his own way.
