Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
Loved it! Down dirty manipulative, disguised as calm, respectful and supportive. (Sounds not unlike the role F Murray Abraham will play as the Chancellor in Beauty and the Beast - scheming rat)

Beauty and the Beast
I've been looking at the logo. I like it. It's a bit Game of Thronesish (a burning shield) - a shield surrounded by mist with a sword instead of the 't' in Beast and something I can't make out behind the B of Beauty. There are also two images in the purple mist. The one on the left looks like a beast but more like a lion than the bull/wolf described. The other one could be a ring? a rose, maybe? I'm not sure.

Like most of the other members of the cast, Rufus Sewell had worked with the director before ....in Dark City. BUT what we can deduce is that it must have been a decent sized or challenging role, if someone with Rufus's experience wanted to do it.

Interesting. Now we know - the role which Darius read for in Paradise Lost was obviously Samael. http://www.dailyblam.com/news/2012/02/09/r...endary-pictures Samael, Lucifer's partisan who initially urges him to start the rebellion against God in Heaven.

Beauty and the Beast
A bull and a wolf are very different creatures. Then again, the wolf has many fairy tale connections. The bull has more connections with mythology. Maybe it will work for an undefined fantasy realm with power struggles, murder and rebellion at its heart just like the ancient world. I don't like the sound of tragically heroic. How come tragic............. he dies?

Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
Paradise Lost was due to start filming in Australia but has now been put on hold due to budget and script concerns. Darius wouldn't have been available for pilot season if he'd got that.

Beauty and the Beast
Here is the same thing again from a different site which says the source is an ABC press release http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2012/03.../20120329abc03/ Confused? You bet I am. ABC or rather one of Hollywood's most experienced casting directors, cast an unknown actor with minimal TV experience in drama, who didn't tick the box for a key element in the show? They were nowhere near the casting deadline either. Of course I'm really pleased they did it nevertheless, tinged with some sense of loss re the album, but the reasoning behind it defeats my logic. The only sensible conclusion I can draw is that Darius quite simply blew the other auditionees out of contention.

Beauty and the Beast
I just bumble around the net and stumble upon them. Actually, I think I better go find the link because in additon to that extra element in the resume of the story, there was a screen shot of what might be the title.

Beauty and the Beast
If blue eyes were an important element in the unravelling mystery - say the beast is a relative of the Emperor's family- why on earth would a casting director cast someone with brown eyes? I'm sure LA in early pilot season has a surplus of tall actors with blue eyes. I guess getting the best actor for the role was more important than elements which could re-written or physically altered on set. I hope they change their mind on that, because otherwise, Darius will lose the subtleness of performance that Jill Paice described as 'always something going on behind his eyes'. It's the way Meisner works............. always being in the moment, always in character and always thinking and reacting to the whole situation and everyone in the scene, not just the person you're talking to. It will be there, but the impact will be lessened.

Beauty and the Beast
Latest spoiler from spoiler.com includes this His eyes. His piercing blue eyes. Before Princess Grace (Ruth Bradley - Titanic mini-series) ever met Shiro (Darius Campbell), she dreamt of his unforgettable eyes and knew that, despite his beastly appearance, he held a powerful connection to her. Eh? I'm never able to hold that gaze for long but whenever I have, I could swear Darius's eyes are very definitely dark.

Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
I'd say that was unfortunate, except that the things which seem to stop him putting out and promoting his music have on balance been opportunities which if passed over, might not have come again. Sometimes when Darius has turned down something I thought would be perfect and so good for him to do then, it later transpires that if he'd done it, he'd have lost out on something even better. I think he should always weigh up the pros and cons and then trust his intincts. Whatever happens, we're a stage further on. Darius is actually happy :cheer: with his new songs and his album. It's there, ready to go when he can fit it into his schedule.

Beauty and the Beast
I think the CW one has the popularity edge at the moment because people have seen most of its cast in shows before and many know what the earlier series was like, whereas the synopsis for ABC's doesn't give much away so no-one knows what to expect and the two title leads are virtually unknown in the US. Personally, I think they've both got a decent chance of going to series.

The only thing to come out of either BatB project so far are two photos of Kristin Kruek (sp), not in character , I believe.
