Beauty and the Beast
I hope that Darius told them he broke his neck only 18 months ago and that he takes reasonable care while he's all enthusiastic and throwing himself into it.

I'm still getting the timeline :( on Darius's page but the usual wall on other ones.

Thanks, Claireabell. I'd never got it before. Maybe there was just a glitch of some kind. Hope so! I really didn't like it.

Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
What on earth is up with the eyesight of all those football fans who keep claiming Zlatan Ibrahimovic looks like Darius? He's tall and has dark hair and that's as much of a resemblance as I can see. And they claim that the ref should go to ........that famous optician advertised on the telly.

US Pilot Discussion 2012 Edition
ABC Gilded Lilys Set in 1895, this epic love story follows the opening of the first grand luxury hotel in NYC, against a backdrop of vicious family rivalries, scandalous secrets, and conflict and comingling of classes. Starring Blythe Danner (Meet The Parents), Brían O'Bynre (FlashForward), Madeline Zima (Californication) and Sarah Bolger (The Tudors). Apparently John Barrowman now added to play the lead role of the son.

Thank you for posting it here. I wondered what Rachel had posted on facebook today. Something new for Darius. Hope he works hard and enjoys it.

What's happened to Darius's facebook page? I'm getting that stupid timeline now and I can't get access to any attachments to see what has been posted there by others.

Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
It gives me at least another 3 months to save up to see Darius on Broadway and of course see a bit of New York, a city I've never felt drawn to before. I could have dropped by en route to or from Florida and Ontario many, many times and didn't. Now I'm definitely planning a visit some time. Funny that!

Beauty and the Beast
There's definitely a rumbling about how many leads have gone to non-Americans this season. Apparently the move away from mainly Americans has been going on for a decade but this year it's happened on a lot of the pilots commissioned by the networks. I wasn't too happy to read on one site that Princess Grace is not just embattled but also love torn, not because I don't know that the latter is integral to the original source, but because I'm concerned there will be unnecessary and protracted scenes which will detract from, rather than add, to character and plot development. It's never good to spin out a plot too thinly. I hope they don't beef up that aspect of the original story. I know it has to be there but please, let there be an intriguing and well written plot with plenty of action and witty dialogue involving the hopefully feisty princess. What's the original source of this princely fiance? I know Gaston was in the Disney version but he wasn't in the original fairy tale.

Clips of Darius singing Swing type songs
I woke up this morning humming an unfamiliar tune over and over. I just didn't have a clue what it was until a snatch of lyrics came and I've just realised it's one of Darius's new songs, one I've only listened to a couple of times - No Woman Like You. I think that one and No More Chasing Rainbows have stayed in my head because they're maybe songs which could be interpreted in other styles that I'm more comfortable with, including my favourite one for Darius - stripped back acoustic, with single instrument accompaniment. I'd love to hear the raw demo for both of those songs. I wonder if they're among the songs he was working with Stuart Roslyn on. I so hope Darius can either get the album out this year or at least fit in a cluster of public gigs over here so we can hear the new songs live.

Beauty and the Beast
I think it's interesting that there's only one American (of Italian descent) in the core cast of this pilot and wonder if that is deliberate, in order to 'neutralise' the mythical city. Ive been thinking of the time as being in the misty past but the series could equally well be futuristic , couldn't it? Those were the thoughts which crossed my mind when I wondered if Darius would use his own accent or revert to the received pronounciation English he used when he read for Paradise Lost. That reel was made by ICM/Media. It's good to have it confirmed that they are Darius's agency. ICM are one of the top 5 agencies in L.A. They're choosy about whom they take on and they can open all the doors for their clients. BTW Channel 5 are showing the Once Upon A Time series soon. I saw it advertised a couple of days ago. Unfortunately I didn't catch when!

Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
You know our media. Nothing Darius does ever merits attention. Some people with no discernable talent can go shopping and get wall to wall coverage but Darius beats all comers in the toughest competitive season for actors in the most competitive city, Los Angeles, and only a couple of Scottish papers commented. The Sun's already set the tone, reporting that he'd got a role in a US tv pilot, as if he was 3rd spear carrier from the right or some such. Mind you, we haven't even added it to latest artist news on here, so maybe I shouldn't gripe.

Beauty and the Beast
I'm sure Darius knows how pilot season works. I don't expect he thought he would get a lead role so early. He'll do what he does with every new challenge. He'll learn from those who are more experienced, work hard and enjoy it for as long as it lasts. If it doesn't get picked up, he's got one more non-musical role on his CV. His casting must have raised eyebrows. I dare say it's quite common for actors who're unknown in the US to get big roles. However, casting a MUSICAL theatre actor with virtually no tv acting experience in a dramatic lead role, must be uncommon and I think other production companies would be curious to give him the once over.

Bits and Pieces 6
We need a Bits and Pieces 7............ in case we actually get some news. It doesn't seem that likely. I don't suppose Darius will be free to talk about what he's doing re Beauty and the Beast and he may also be in the recording studio for a while.

They've apparently now cast a young Australian actress, Meegan Warner. I don't know what part she's playing though.

Bits and Pieces 6
I thought it didn't sound the same as I heard it on the Big Band show. I really like 'Again' as well. I liked this piece about Darius being cast as the beast. http://www.optionated.com/2012/02/abcs-bea...arius-campbell/

Bits and Pieces 6
Your guess is as good as mine. - a recording studio? It sounds rude but I think the expression is complimentary. Madonna said she was going to sing and dance hers off at the Superbowl, If we're lucky, Darius is cracking on with the album before the hard work on the pilot starts.

Beauty and the Beast
Some more info on the plot BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (ABC) - Irish actress Ruth Bradley has scored the title role on the pilot, a drama set in a mythical city where its princess is tasked with quelling a rebellion. She'll play Grace, the stunning, brave princess of Kendan alongside the previously cast Darius Campbell as the beast Shiro, a mercenary for the rebels. Yves Simoneau is directing the ABC Studios-based hour from a script by Jonathan E. Steinberg. Chris Egan and F. Murray Abraham also star.
