Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
No indication of what kind of film it is or director attached? I'd certainly hate to have the workload that Darius must have now with all the rescheduling. Good job he relishes a challenge or two.

2017 GE: Volatile Voting, Random Results
The Single Transferable Vote system which we use in Scotland for local elections, is a nightmare to count. However it is much more proportional. This government has no respect for democracy no matter what system is used. They want to rule by statute and cut out as much debate as they can in Westminster. A Tory in a key seat didn't get elected at the GE. He was immediately made a Lord and attached to the Scottish Office.

Definitely not. I can' t draw for toffee, far less do it with flowers. He'd turn out like King Kong! I think we should start a new topic on this thread every 4 - 5 days to give others a chance to join in. What do you think?

Elvis In Concert Tour With The RPO - UK Dates
Advert in my paper today. Elvis at the O2 I thought, brilliant!, It isn't this.... Just an exhibition of memorabilia. It is on from November to January. If I get down to London, I'll try to catch it.

Not very. It seems to be a slow grower. Maybe cultivated that way because it is designed for topiary. I'll probably be able to start getting it into shape next Spring. The flowers in my garden tend to be mainly yellow, dark blues/purple and white. I'm going to mass plant bulbs this year I've taken out all the old ones. They were a bit haphazard. I''ll aim for a more organised look. Those poppies get in anywhere. My side garden is chipped and I have lots of yellow and orange poppies all over it. I didn't plant them but I haven' t the heart to uproot them. Besides, the bees need them I wear a lot of stronger colours because they suit me. Pastel shades and muted tones make me look tired and washed out. Of the neutrals, I can only wear black or navy close to my face if I wear statement earrings or a necklace. I can't wear pure white. Shades of ivory suit me best. I'm not being nosey in this thread. I just want it to be somewhere Darius fans and other Buzzjackers can talk without musical differences causing disruption.

Yeah, I was sure I'd read about it as a forthcoming event. Hence my post above.

Is religion relevant to the modern world?
I was baptised as a baby in the Church of Scotland. I went to Sunday School there and also to little missions, Baptist and Methodist churches. In my early teens I wrestled with my doubts asking myself whether I was just pleasing family and friends. When I was sure of my faith, I worked out what kind of community I wanted to worship in. Tried the Church of the Good Shepherd (Anglican) and the aforementioned churches again. Preferred the stripped back simplicity and democracy of Presbyterianism and the Church of Scotland. Never considered Catholicism because of the Latin liturgy, although I had a Higher Latin at that time. I still dislike responses.

Not Colour Blind. What are retro forum's posters' favourite colours and Do you often wear them. Do they feature in your home decor? Do they dominate in your garden? I love strong colours...... all reds, deepest pinks and purples. Also turquoise through all its hues. My answers would be:- Yes Turquoise yes. The others as rare accents. No.

Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
Not yet. Still keeping a look out though. Megham seemed to think that Reconstructing Jack was one of the 3.

Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
I think Darius's instincts to back it and put personal effort into it were right on the button. I hope the same can be said for the 3 upcoming films.

Is religion relevant to the modern world?
I believe there is a central place for spirituality although the media and much of global politics are so negative and self obsessed. I think that traditional religions can be their own worst enemy by supposedly standing for inclusively while adhering to outdated rites and customs and whose members often shun others. I was baptised a Christian and joined the Church of Scotland of my own volition after I'd thought through what I really did believe in. I believe in the core message - love is greater than evil. I'm not a Marxist but I do believe in levelling the playing field, helping others on to the first rung of the ladder of opportunity and I respect others, no matter what race, religion, colour or nationality. I never cease to be amazed by the beauty of this world and feel my insignificance and yet feel closer to the universe, greater power, God...whatever. I also believe in the power of prayer and positivity.

Darius: Bits and Pieces 7
Filming can't have started yet. The director Mike Figgis is in Italy. I bought a DVD of Imperium yesterday. I think it was a really contemporary story which needed to be told to raise awareness that extremists can often appear to be the exact opposite. I found the everyday mundane scenes extremely chilling, especially after the horrors of Charlottesville and the arrest this week of 3 British soldiers who are allegedly members of the banned neo nazi group, one of whose members murdered Jo Cox, the late MP.

For general discussion subtitled NOT about Darius so there's some hope of harmony breaking out.

IF WE'RE HAVING JUST ONE JUMBLE OF Darius related and general discussion thread, I quit.

No they are not. Bits and Pieces has always been for Darius centred discussion NOT off topic or general discussion.

Thank you. So this one news - no comments/discussion, which should go in Bits and Pieces 7, one photo thread and the lounge one to try to get to know others.?

Darius
How are we taking over on a pinned thread.? I for one hardly ever remember to look at pinned threads That was true in the AF too. I always saw the pinned threads as an archive not to be sullied with too many comments/discussions.

I understood that Spamfritter wanted this pinned thread kept for news wiithout comments. We can't delete it because the archive links are at the beginning.
