When there were only 2 Monkees left they did an album (Changes) written and produced by Jeff Barry and Andy Kim who went on to produce The Archies. A spinoff from The Archies was: LIefkf33_Qc Josie and the Pussycats-Every Beat of My Heart
  2. He made his best music when he was a drug addict. He's the worst ad yet for being 'clean and sober'.

Basically you've got a string of classic albums and hit singles right up to 1970. Then they change labels, from Pye to RCA and the hits dry up. After Muswell Hillbillies you NEVER hear a good word about ANY of the later albums. They had the same lineup, same producer/songwriter but no more hits. Whereas bands like The Stones and The Who went thru a golden period in the early 70s the Kinks slipped back to the level of The Searchers and The Ivy League.

They're one of those bands who totally ruled in the 60's but as soon as 1970 clicked over they lost all the powers. :( I wonder why???
  5. Totally over-rated. The guy who wrote 'Clapton Is God' on the tube station is responsible for everything bad that's happened in rock music since. Even Layla and 461 Ocean Blvd are pretty poor albums. He toured Australia once and played a 30 minute set with his back to the audience the whole concert. From the Cradle's the most UNauthentic blues album of all time and Tears In Heaven ranks with The Living Years as the most insincere tribute to a dead person since "John Brown's Body Is A Mouldin' In His Grave". If you play in a biker-blues band he rules, but, the way I see it, everytime you play one of his albums you spitting on the grave of Robert Johnson. (Even Cream's Crossroads is only a classic because of Tom Dowd's clever editing, without which it would have been a 15 minute wankfest)

The bitterest pill most Jam fans have ever had to swallow is Paul Weller's post Style Council career. Especially his lame-ass covers album. Here's one of the many great songs he slaughtered in his TMed 'dad-rock' style QUDshT19j8Q The Carpenters - Close to you

  10. The ad's just a montage of key moments from Neighbours. It starts and ends with Kylie and Jason's wedding. The Delta bits are just part of the clip. I don't think she's coming back :( QTEbXUfO_sM Neighbours "A Change is Coming" Promo

[rant] I can't stand Clapton after Layla. Seriously, Rock Against Racism was started because of his comments. Everytime he has a flop album be 'goes back to his roots' and does a dodgy blues album. He's the guy who 'stole' the blues from poor black guys and gave them to rich, white, middleclass meatheads. BB King and JJ Cale should hang their heads in shame for working with such a jerk. Everytime the radio plays Tears In Heaven they're spitting on the grave of Robert Johnson. [/rant]
  22. Johnny Remember Me is a Joe Meek classic. It still sounds weird. Billy Fury used to have a huge rep but the only song I've ever heard is Long Live Rock on the soundtrack from That'll Be The Day. Adam Faith's Beat Girl was used in Fat Boy Slim's Rockafella Skank  Tommy Steele did Rock With The Caveman which is a lot more authentic rock'n'roll than anything The Artic Monkeys have done

Down The Dustpipe and Kentucky Rain were huge hits in Australia. Alright Now and Spirit In The Sky have lost something in repetitive radio programming. It's like Imagine. It's a classic but no-one really ever wants to hear it ever again. EDIT: There was a ban on the radio playing records from the UK when this chart came out so Australia had a local cover of In The Summertime by The Mixtures and Yellow River was by Jigsaw in Melbourne and Fantasy in Sydney.
