The trouble with The Ultimate Collection is that it's split equally between the Decca and Immediate stuff and there's heaps better Immediate stuff than Decca so the collection is lopsided. Best comp for the Immediate stuff is 'The Darlings of Wapping Wharf Launderette' then pick up ANY Decca/London comp.

As soon as someone put them on the official forum there days were numbered. There's a little bit of Promise in this compilation spool about half way thru it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRpWR6yzX7I...s%2Ecom%2Eau%2F
  4. If it's not true it was made up by someone who was actually at Redlands at the time. A party guest or one of the police. She was definitely wearing a fur coat with nothing underneath, that's documented. Marianne is a very unreliable source her autobiography's all over the place and she's conveniently 'remembered' a lot of stuff since it's been published. McCartney was replaced in 1967 by William Campbell. The proof- Back To The Egg, Off The Ground, Give My Regards To Broadstreet. There's NO WAY that any of The Beatles could possibly be involved with such travesties.
  5. A couple of those so-called rumours are actually true. 4, 8 and 12 for starters. 11 was supposed to be about a member of Bros during an Australian tour.
  6. The original I Don't Care is by Angela Via Here it is live from Texas and the studio version with unrelated video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjaA9DjnGtk (Actually the vid's from Veronica Mars so it's DEFINITELY worth watching :D )
  7. So, according to that story Delta and Mark Philippoussis were practically married. Interesting
  8. New Rose - The Damned Stop In The Name Of Love - Diana Ross & the Supremes Californian Girls - The Beach Boys Baby I Love You - The Ronettes Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones Natural High (live version) - Vanessa Paradis
  9. 1. What Do I Get? - Buzzcocks 2. One More Night- Yellow Dog 3. Strawberry Fields Forever - Beatles 4. Street Fighting Man - Rolling Stones 5. Lost and Found - Peter Hammill 6. No Matter What - Badfinger 7. Good Vibrations - Beach Boys 8. Champagne Supernova - Oasis 9. Take Me With You - Kylie 10. Be My Baby - Ronettes
  10. What about the 2 great Adam Faith movies Beat Girl and Mix Me a Person??? Both films are actually watchable unlike some of those mentioned above. Up Jumped a Swagman with Frank Ifield is also an interesting flick.
  11. In France in the 60's there used to be a little cardboard flap on the side of a record sleeve called a languette. The difference in price between a rare record with or without a languette could run into hundreds of Euros. Collectors want every part of the collectable.( inner sleeves, posters, drop-outs etc). An undiscovered sticker on an already rare item is BIG news :P
  12. £££££
  13. Most copies of the Japanese promo of Flawed come in plain jewel cases. This one carries an informative sticker. http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/4875/flawedxu0.jpg The quest for the perfect Delta collection continues :P

  15. Yeah but then a couple of things happened and wrecked the whole scene. Multi-track recorders (anything above 8 track) equaled indulgence and overkill. Plus some complete no-hoper wrote 'Clapton is God' on a wall introducing the cult of musician that came close to killing pop music stone dead by the mid 70's.
  16. Goodbye is my fave song of hers. Counting Down The Days is a good album but it's poorly sequenced. The weaker tracks are at the beginning of the album so the casual listener never bothered to here the classics at the end of the CD. The title song NEVER should have been a single, she's done stronger B-sides than that song. White Lillies Island had that disgusting copy protection software on the UK copies that wouldn't alow you to play ot on a computer or in a car. That would have cost BMG a couple of million sales :(
  17. The Zombies were great as were the Pretty Things, The Creation, Ron Wood's Birds, The Spencer Davis Group, Them and stacks more. A lot of bands sucked (Freddie and the Dreamers, Gerry & thePacemakers) but the majority rocked. :P
  18. Any band that actually referred to themselves as 'Brit-pop' is automatically bad. :D
  19. 'Alternative' is the worst genre. Alternative to what??? All it meant was putting a whole lot of unrelated bands together and excluding a whole mess of bands that were truely alternative to the mainstream. 'Indie''s just as bad as most 'indie' bands seem to make records for SonyBMG or EMI
  20. Billy Don't Be A Hero, Black Eyed Boys and The Night Chicago Died were monster hits in Australia. Showaddywaddy never charted downunder :(
  21. ALL the songs are on Scott 1, 2 and 3. (except on the vinyl where, for some unknown reason they put the Walker song Little Things on the thing) and it's only about 9 tracks so represents poor value. I'll give it a 5 Comps Looking Back With Scott Walker (1950's and early 60's demos) 3 Looking Back With Scott Walker (German CD of the above with bonus tracks, Orbit singles and Liberty 45s)5 The Fresh World of Scott Walker (Japanese version of the above with slightly different tracks) 4 When Is A Boy A Man (Jap CD with ALL the early demos, the orbit singles and the Liberty singles) 6 I Only Came To Dance With You (Capitol/Tower comp only 3 vocal tracks but the title song rocks) 4 Fire Escape In The Sky (Comp of Scott songwriting from first 5 albums) 10 Boy Child (expanded version of the above) 10 Boy Child (remastered version of above with better sound but weaker track listing) 9 Classics and Collectables 5 5 Easy Pieces (5 CD box) (version 1) 8, (version 2) 9 Everything Under The Sun ("complete" Walker Brothers) 7 ( points taken off for leaving out US only album track(Don't Fight It) and album version of No Regrets)
  22. Scott (1967) 8 Scott 2 (1968) 9 Scott 3 (1969) 9.5 Scott—Scott Walker sings songs from his TV series (1969) 5 Scott 4 (1969) 7 'Til The Band Comes In (1970) 8 The Moviegoer (1972)5 Any Day Now (1973) 5 Stretch (1973) 6.4 We Had It All (1974) 5.3 Climate of Hunter (1984) 6 Tilt (1995) 4 Pola X (soundtrack)(1999) 5.1 The Drift (2006)7 Scott Walker Sings Jacques Brel (comp)
  23. Pulp 9 The Cure 9.1 The Moody Blues 6.5 The Orb 5 Siouxsie and the Banshees 7.5 Free 5 The La's 6 The Jam 9.1 Dusty Springfield 8 Grace Jones 5 Sparks 7 Julian Cope 5 Def Leppard 4 Walker Brothers 8.1 Nuyorican Soul Stevie Wonder 6 Anthony Newly 4 Chuck Berry 8.1
  24. Wasn't a guy from Mud responsible for a few of Kylie's latter day hits??
