Friday Chart Predictions
Seen people comparing Babydoll to Fleetwood Mac's Everywhere. He may well be influenced by Olivia too, though I think if he's ripping off anyone it's Bruno Mars. I'm a fan whatever! :)

Sales W/E 15/10/2026
OCC need to do something about this dodgy practice. They should have a firm release date set and then stick to it.

Heart FM Playlist 2026
It's a shame because at one point.. actually going back some years now(!), I remember they started to be more adventurous. Remember them playing The Veronicas, Jessie Ware and GRL in the mid-2010s. I guess they must just have a very high threshold with listener testing, like they only generally playlist it when a high proportion of the panel say they know and like the song, which is why they add everything so late. Unless it's Taylor Swift?

He means the Antonio Cipriano duet version, though I don't think they have been combined. It's just been removed from Jamie Miller's artist page.

Capital FM Playlist 2026
Only 2 songs - Fever Dream and The Cure - have gone straight in at number 1 in 2026. Usually songs climb there.

Capital FM Playlist 2026
But the song was only released on Friday. It's a chart that covers the whole week.

Capital FM Playlist 2026
The chart is more heavily weighted towards iTunes downloads than streams though, plus Capital airplay, so it's not that unrealistic that Hugel would be still be number 1. That's why you get random stuff like Nickelback and U2 in the top 20.

The charts in the early 90s vs late 90s
Joyful times. I still miss the excitement of popping down to my local to check out the new releases.

The charts in the early 90s vs late 90s
It's probably the Europe one. Someone's changed the country from "UK & Europe" to "Europe" because of Discogs guidelines saying not to use that. It was probably released in UK and Ireland and the release date is just wrong. Most of the second hand copies are from UK sellers which is also usually a clue. Can't always take Discogs as gospel on these things I find.

The charts in the early 90s vs late 90s
It was a gradual thing but I think 1995 was the year the big shift happened. Take That performing Back For Good six weeks upfront on the Brits led to them having a huge first week sales and I've seen that cited as a key moment that made record companies sit up. Livin' Joy's Dreamer shortly after that was notable for being the first time there'd been three number 1s in a row that entered there Two other things that happened around this time was that new releases started being sold for £1.99 or £2.99 in first week of sale And distributors started delivering new releases the Friday before the Monday release date, so they could be out and racked for opening on Monday. Before, shops often didn't receive them until later on the Monday or even the Tuesday

It weirdly doesn’t show up on her Spotify page, but there was actually a revamp of Bangaranga released on Thursday. Shame everyone is going to stream the wrong version. https://open.spotify.com/album/0bkhV18o7Z8MJ5zzA53bHc

Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 15/05/26
The only two I can come up with are their 2016 artist Poli Genova who reached #200, and Lucy Diakovska as a member of the otherwise German girl group No Angels, who reached #89 in 2001 with Daylight In Your Eyes.

Radio 1 Playlist (08/05/26): The saviour of rock music comes from Boston
Will Be Yours was originally going to be the next single, with No Matter What as the second A side. Bit surprising that they'd playlist it before it was serviced though.

Why on earth have the OCC added market rules to ACR
ACR should be on a sliding scale rather than on/off. I don't care if it makes it more complicated to understand.

Charts now have Top 200 info
Yeah, I wish they'd stop quoting total units for singles. It's fine for the weekly chart, but it's made a mockery of the all-time charts. Let's have one all-time sales chart and one all-time streaming chart, with total streams rather than converted to sales.

Top 100 Singles + Albums; W/E 16/04/26
Good to see Flo still top 100. I'm not seeing it in the individual streaming charts. Does anyone know where it's doing well / how it's managing to make the OCC chart?
