For me it's one of those rare songs you hear on the radio and go "wow, what's this?" so I guess it's just connecting with people. I can see it being a slow burner over the coming months. Just needs someone to dance to it on Strictly or something. Actually first heard it on local BBC radio bizarrely enough

Bizarre and frustrating that the Sigala track is #14 on Apple and not even top 200 on Spotify.

I think Spice Girls' Headlines CD single came out 1 week after Greatest Hits, though it came out 1 week before it on download.

Katie Melua's Closest Thing To Crazy came out 4 weeks after the album.

I'm fine with the ratio of streams to sales as they are, but the chart is still staler than I'd like. For me, the chart is there to serve a purpose, and that's to promote new records. So I'm fine with fiddling with the data to make the chart faster and reflect the popularity of new songs. ACR does an OK job but it's a rather blunt instrument. I'd rather they did something cleverer that increased the ratio gradually as time went on.

Maybe "Without U"? It wouldn't be the first time an artist has had 2 songs with the same name though.

That's true, but they also keep old songs around longer than they should be as well

If you wanted to be really pedantic, Wham! doesn't count because Last Christmas wasn't a stand alone single until later on. It was a double-a-side with Everything She Wants originally. So I guess you can say it's the biggest gap for a song/record/track, but not a single. ;)
