I don't think that matters. It's to put two fingers up to the monarchy in Jubilee week, like the Sex Pistols did in 1977. Plenty of deranged people will relish the chance to do that, just like when people downloaded Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead.

My guess is that they decided to combine them when the 2 versions were re-released together as a CD and digital single in 2006. At that point you needed to have a CD single available in order to chart. So they would've been forced at that point to make a decision whether to either allow individual downloads of the '98 version to count towards the one combined chart position, or discounted.

I think it's right to list these as separate #1s because historically it was a singles chart - and these are separate, re-issued singles.

It's not bubblegum but it does feel a bit like he's trying too hard to get a radio hit, rather than just doing him. And it's so bland compared to Little Bit Of Love which was excellent.

So Sam was on Radio 1, 2, 4, X and Capital, Heart this morning, and The One Show on TV Talked about on Breakfast, GMB, Lorraine, Packed Lunch, Loose Women, Jeremy Vine etc And I expect he'll do the TV circuit tomorrow. So hope all this publicity helps the momentum going

Surely being number 1 on all the DSP charts help with the visibility as well. He has been the talk of literally every live TV and radio show this morning too. Fingers crossed it's going to be a lasting hit. Sam joked he was aiming for #2 rather than #1 on the charts on Radio 2 earlier, because the song came out on 22/2/22, he sang in 22nd position and came 2nd in the 2022 contest haha

Oh great to see Sam doing so well on Apple. And maybe it'll become a real hit rather than just a one week wonder.

Oh I think Måneskin are here to stay - their upcoming album is basically all Max Martin-produced. It's gonna be chock full of hits. Supermodel is a smash.

They shouldn't need to - but I'm guessing that radio stations are telling labels they like songs to be as short as possible. Commercial radio often does their own short edits. It's so they can fit in more songs.

I think Destination Calabria was a sample in the first place.. the original track was just called Calabria. To be picky. :P
