Future of the Chart Show?
I think it gets about 1.5 million listeners, and I suppose most of those would've been listening anyway, yes. But it's quite telling that they scrapped the Sunday show and then later on decided they needed to do the midweek chart from 6pm in order to compete with Big Top 40. So clearly Radio 1 see there being some value to continuing with the chart. I think it's safe, whoever presents it.

Future of the Chart Show?
You might as well ask why listen to the radio?

Future of the Chart Show?
And Mark was about 6 years younger than Scott is now! I'd be happy for Scott to continue doing the chart show, but he'd probably be best off making a clean break. I don't see him as ready for Radio 2 yet either. He's in an awkward position I think. Maybe there's a gig for him on commercial radio.

The self-righteousness and hypocricy of the moderators on PJ knows no bounds.

Radio X really are just part of the problem when they should be the solution...

The 21st Century's Most Popular Tracks
Crazy to think that according to OCC, Evergreen isn't even in the top 100 biggest singles anymore.

The 21st Century's Most Popular Tracks
Still think they should stop combining sales and streams for total units, it just doesn't make sense. Of course it's necessary for the weekly charts, but it's rendered comparisons with the pre-streaming era absolutely meaningless. No doubt that Shape Of You was a massive record, but it wasn't bigger than Candle In The Wind or Do They Know It's Christmas.

I'd actually consider getting one of those expensive Number 1 awards if you could choose the Number 1, rather than it being one by The Wanted.

Disney's Top 100 Most Streamed Songs
Also surprised at Let It Go not being #1 but I suppose all that time it spent in the chart it was downloads wasn't it.

Radio Airplay End of Year Chart 2021
I don't think songs being overplayed for a long period should be a reason not to include airplay in the official chart - you could just implement rules along the lines of ACR to counteract that. There's plenty of new songs in the weekly chart as well, obviously mostly ones played on Radio 1 and 2.

Confused at the success of the Lost Frequencies record. Good to see Calum having a proper hit, but there's not much of a song there...

BBC Sound of 2022
Mimi's technically was an EP but yes it's still a bit weird to include her. I wish they'd include more acts like her though. Or that there more of them to include. Ones that do straight-forward pop songs. Having heard a little of all of the acts on the list, they're all a bit trying too hard to be edgy and forgot to just write a good tune. And most of them will fail as a result, as happens every year. Best thing I've heard from any of them though are Lola Young's "Fake" and Brit winner Holly Humberstone's "The Walls Are Way Too Thin"
