There are ABBA Spotify ads on billboards so I expect them playlisting them is part of the deal. Though they should be there on merit anyway.

Fades feat. Lia White - Obsession - out 1 Oct https://www.facebook.com/officialfades/phot...08275549398469/

It's not all about making the top 75 these days though. He has 6 million monthly listeners on Spotify and has several tracks with tens of millions of worldwide plays - so he must be making someone some money.

At least Spotify Sweden have put them at #1 on NMF :)

A1 - Spiders - single out Sep 17 https://twitter.com/A1Official/status/1433745994148089859

It's all just semantics though isn't it? The definition of what is and what isn't a single is often quite blurred these days. And we have the power to decide. If it takes off in the same way Galway Girl did, then they'll probably embrace it. But maybe it won't. Guess we'll see.

Wasn't "Galway Girl" officially a promo single too initally? If radio wants to play it and it does as well as an official single well it's a single whether he wants to call it one or not!

I guess some weeks Radio 2 have more than one favourite I didn't even know The Killers had an album out. I don't think Radio 2 are playing anything from it?

I don't expect Will will fall that badly in week 2. He's been promoting throughout the week (and is still trending on Twitter after his Breakfast appearance today). Plus he's been made Radio 2's Album of the Week for this week coming oddly.

The original is actually a Belinda Carlisle track

Good to see this as I enjoyed the previous two. I'm guessing the methodology of the OCC Dance Chart did change at some point in the 2010s though to more or less match what you're going to do, except ACR maybe changing things like you say? Not that it won't still be interesting. Incidentally, how was the chart compiled historically? Was it based on only sales from certain specialist dance stores?

That new Ava Max seems to be doing nothing, eh.

Yep he must have passed Candle In The Wind now - that was at 4.95 million in 2017 with very few streams. Bonkers.

There are only 5000 copies of Ed's CD single though I believe. They could've easily flogged more at 99p, so it can't just be desperation to get a #1. The signed ones are already sold out.

It's limited to 5000 copies though

Would be great if you can :)

Thanks for these. Are they on the website or is this just from you listening?

I'm rather baffled by Måneskin's continued streaming success. If they can do so well off the back of one TV appearance, why are rock bands in general not doing better?

422. Darin - Can't Stay Away BOP alert 54PHddnnTp0

I reckon these are the only foreign-language Eurovision hits of the last 30 years - and they were often translated to English before then! Dancing Lasha Tumbai #23 Wild Dances #47 Allez Olla Olé #81 Moustache #89 Nocturne #90 Amar Pelos Dois #97 Dancing In The Rain #102 Molitva #112 La Voix #138 Party For Everybody #159

The main reason Radio 1 have taken back the lead is that Big Top 40 now only goes out on Heart and Capital. Though Radio 1 does better on a Friday than it was on a Sunday, just because it's a better slot. Think it's closer to 1.5 million than the 1 million it used to get. Even though it's "made up", I also prefer the Big Top 40 for its pace and more mainstream pop feel.

Has there been any homepage promotion of Eurovision on Spotify or Apple this time? It's unusual to see them doing so well on streams isn't it?

Interesting Italy I think only got about 4 points in UK televote.

She's gone all gospel!
